How do you explain to an innocent Iraq guy, why half of his family died by US bombs and his brother (who isn't a terrorist) get tortured? This guy may think the USA are the terrorists and Al Kaida is fighting for freedom.

I really despise Todd Tongdee.

He used to write a column for the Nation every week many years ago and it infuriated me that this holier-than-thou, talent-less twit was given a forum for his sophomoric rantings.

This guy could never get a gig as a panhandling street musician in the Tenderloin in San Francisco and here he is "advising" Thailand's youth and putting on rock-star airs.

Just goes to show how far cr*ppy music, phoniness and a white face go around these parts!

I have nothing against gays, but sometimes privacy about your sexuality is better public relations.

I used to live in San Francisco and just found the whole Gay Rights March nothing but seedy. A bunch of hairy sleazeballs, fake women, and ugly old "Dykes on Bikes" charging down the street with the stench of the cigarettes hanging out of their mouths following behind them. You are absolutely right, but, believe me, they will continue to pay those prices despite what you and I think.

The "best", most convienient locations are always expensive, everywhere!

I'm afraid that these prices will continue to rise as long as people want to make their lives easier.

I have noticed that most of the posters who have a largeish age difference found it necessary to justify the gap.

If you are happy, never mind. It is difficult and you can feel a bit "talked about", which in turn can make you feel the need for justification etc.

Welcome to the forum. The answer to your first question, " what is a Farrang" A person not born in Thailand is a Farrang, although most asians are not considered to be a Farrang. Bassically means foriegnor. Has nothing to do with skin color, or weather you come from Europe, or anywhere else in the world.

I did twelve days on the fast because I wanted to lose weight as well as doing the detox.

You are right about the great food at the Spa. I arrive a few days early and stick around about a week after the fast to slowly add richer foods to my diet and get my fill of their excellent vegetarian cuisine.

The tofu spring rolls are to die for!

Go on a fruit and vegetable juice fast at the Spa in Ko Samui and then try their raw foods diet.

I have lost 27 kilos in the last 5 months.

Losing weight isn't difficult on this diet, but sticking with it for a long time is because it is hard to resist other foods.
