  1. Hi everyone!

I'm not sure what is my best option for letting me continue my life in Thailand next year. Please enlighten me, visa gurus!

    1) I had a work permit for 2 years, but now my company has closed down

    2) My NON-IMM B visa is expiring in early December.

    3) I did not find a new job yet, but I can easily take care of myself by going to work for a few weeks per year in Vietnam, I'm not really looking for a job.

    4) My Thai girlfriend of 5 years has a 100K/month business in Thailand with 5 employees, we will get married next year (just saying, if that helps find a solution)

    My choices so far:

--Study Thai, get a ED visa. I always wanted to improve my Thai. But can I get my Visa extension right away (from B to ED)? They say I need to go out of the country and come back, but I think that's for tourist visas. I already have a NON-IMM, so....

--Find a fake job? I love to pay taxes as I did for the past 2 years and show I'm a good citizen. Yes, really.

-- Visa runs to Vietnam every 3 months on tourist visa. But that seems like it will prevent me from applying for a resident after 3 years of work permit.

    --Others?

    My IMPORTANT QUESTION:

I saw on this forum that I need to escape the country within 24 hours of ceasing employment. But that is very strange to me. Ok, I get it, I'm an undesirable canadian, less than 30-year-old. I'm not even retired, and I don't even inject money into the prostitution industry - so they want to get rid of me asap. Well, please tell me what should I do, my company closed suddenly months ago, and the Ministry Of Labor administration told me I can hold on to my work permit if I want to try to find a new job. The prison stories on this website shocked me. What should I do?

Well, i tried to send you a private message but couldn't and it is definitely about visa.

  2. well, i have been living in bangkok for the last 5 years and own a company too. I don't think it is that hard to run business in Thailand. However, you have to make sure you spend less then what you earn. Mostly people here who have business problems aren't really here for business but for enjoyment and nightlife.

It is not business fails people, it is people fail business. My advice to you is to come Bangkok and seek for the opportunities that has the best priority. As far as investing the money is concerned which is obviously the matter of snapping finger, the real work begins to make it run.

All the best and Good luck!
