  1. If a US bounty hunter nabs VDS - there will hardly be a tear shed in Thailand - good riddance, some might say.

Then there will be a trial and he will do time - that is guaranteed.

He clearly has little compassion for the opposite sex, views them as so much cattle, to be traded at whim.

Perhaps now, the liberals will view him in a more sanguine light. To have contributed to another's death at such

a young age, and to be exploiting them again, should send alarm signals everywhere.

    Women are not hunting trophies

  2. I have never had problems socializing at any level. All the mistakes I made were of my own volition.

All of hers were of her own doing. There is no guarantee in life or love. We simply move on, to the next level.

Plus 3 billion women globally - so little time.

  3. Did anyone on the forum perhaps 'step' where they should not have?

Not necessarily that there was a cultural clash, but more along the lines of professional etiquette.

Because there is a large degree of perceived anonymity on the net these days - forums, blogs, chatrooms, facebook, etc

it might be that there was some possible mild transgression that has since grown out of all proportion.

Of course it is difficult to quantify, with time, but it might be worth looking at, as a policy.

Personally, I dislike the C&P crowd, appreciate opinions and debate, plagiarism is always to hand, simply to complicate matters.

    edit - news piece -

Of course there is a new cry from Newscorp, Murdock, to simply pay for all content - this might also be a

partial reason for preempting the local TV ban, as it is passed down. Wonder how much BBC paid, if any.

Rupert Murdoch has said it is time for internet search engines and other websites to start to pay for any news reports they currently take for free.

Mr Murdoch, owner of media giant News Corporation, said such sites would soon have to pay for any content taken from his firm's many new providers.

He was speaking at the World Media Summit in Beijing, where his comments were backed by some of his competitors.

Associated Press boss Tom Curley said news providers were being "exploited".

    'Act decisively'

"The aggregators and plagiarists will soon have to pay a price for the co-opting of our content," said Mr Murdoch, whose company owns newspapers including the Sun and the Times in the UK, and the New York Post and Wall Street Journal in the US.

  4. It is always a good idea to post complete machine spec - makes it easier for us to figure via proxy

Rule of thumb is XP first - then Linux, do default install with GRUB install.

XP without data, will run in 3G + swap.

I would use a minimalistic Linux - Puppy, Minime, etc - also 3G + swap

Booting USB can be problematic, at best, you need to know your way around GRUB also..

The 'buntus demand large resources, which you dont have. I would put data on USB

  5. You might want to run PCLinusOS 2009 or MiniMe 2009 Live first

I convert a lot of folks to both as they work so well, so quickly.

Please see the previous post also - feel free to pm me for any in depth help

  6. Pick eaither PCLinuxOS2009 or MiniMe2009 and run them live - it will give you some idea of what to expect.

They both run KDE3.xx which is an excellent GUI - very customizable - you will need approx 10G to install

the O/S to - I use much less - 5G, but I keep my data on another partition - too many M$ C:\ crashes!

I only have /root + 3G swap. I use RFSv3 as it is more resilient that any others - especially if the power goes off frequently

I have never lost data or suffered thru the dreaded fsck nonsense.

Dual boot is by default - I dont game, but that might be prudent to retain M$

Make sure you defrag, chkdsk, etc, the drive thoroughly before you partition for any Linux - enjoy!

BTW - you will be overjoyed by the sheer horsepower and lack of viruses/rootkits/av/etc

  7. Good advice - all the major components are like IBM INTEL AMD etc - all the tin is well .. tin and dont matter.

Save some more and go Linux - think of all the headaches/virus/rootkits/etc you wont have, plus all your machines will

be working for you and not the AV companies.

The guys who build your machines will gladly install XP for you - dont even think M$ Vista/7 now ...

  8. I donate blood regularly, and was alarmed when I did so in Pattaya recently - at the Dusit - where they had a blood drive.

The locum asked me if I had any hypertension problems, to which I answered in the negative - it has always been 75/120.

She asked me if I drank Chang & ate Thai food, especially soups. I answered in the affirmative. They put me in a dark room,

where I dozed for a while. BP good - on with the leaching.

Having said that, I went back to my old routine of one glass of alcohol, one glass of water.

I might also add that I had just finished gym, and they dont want to crash your blood pressure by taking blood whilst your

metabolism is still running at 110% - hence the 'calming' period. I do approx 5 hours per week - mostly heavy lifting.

I would up your water intake to at least 5 litres per day - low salt/sodium water - more is better - your urine must be clear, white.

The water will help flush salts/etc out also.

I had my feet swell on a flight once - maybe 20 years back - but thats because I lived in a bar that week.

At 42 you might be headed for trouble - get help with the 30 bottles/day - its not anything to be proud of.

So much about alcohol & tobacco is that it becomes routine thing - like brushing your teeth - change the habit and

employ some discipline - it becomes all of u - besides its habit that got us there in the first place.

After the 2nd or 3rd Whiskey, one has already reached the ultimate high - the rest is repetitive & routine.
