  1. yes, here is the legal position of this in thailand .........

    SOM NAM NAA

if you lost out due to your err, then thats that.

if the hotel lost out due to their err, then thats that.

however, the clerk/cashier responsible will be liable to give the cash they 'lost' back to their employee,probably.....

    the clerk/cashier would keep that 600 b also,probably.

don't waste any more of your time on it,just ignore them, and forget about it.

however.............,you have just made a verbal agreement to repay them.......... no ,just forget about it and don't contact them anymore, unless you plan on staying there again.....

  2. just looked at one, bank wants 8,5 million, project sells for 6,5  300k difference in spec, but still...................

in todays market, you can get better deals in the open market

thats exactly what i was expecting.buy new in thailand always seems more sense economically.

maybe theres so many empty/abandoned properties here is because the seller/s all want their cut.

    cheers for that tho.....

  3. does anybody out there know how one goes about aquiring (hopefully a 'bargain') house or condo repo from the bank or any other way to find 'distressed' property for sale.they must be about up for grabs.i have seen some houses which are obviously abandoned, going by the way the gardens look as if tarzan would be happier there than anyone else actually in the house.

has anybody tried this with success,or just another dead end.

a thought was to get some of these for rental.

being a bit of a pessamist (although rarely disappointed in life) i would guess it would be cheaper to buy a new property.........??

    any thoughts..........??

  4. just to bring this thread back to life.....

any one know or can advice on sending a crate of about 50kg back to europe.maybe port to port srvice.time not importance, just shipping costs and a 99 percent chance that it arrives.

    would leave from cholburi/samut.

  5. From the article: "more than 30,000 paedophiles and child-sex offenders on its watchlist - the UK is not a nation of sex offenders"

Not a nation of sex offenders really??

You dont state which country your from - but i dont notice anyone else cracking down on it - only britain. hence this PROVES the UK is the nation LEAST full of sex offenders. Pity we cant crack down on illegal immigrants with equal vigour.

I wonder if it would be possible for Thailand to obtain lists from the UK or any other country that such information is kept and bar these pedophiles from entry as undesirables. Also the UK or any other country who has this information could restrict travel for these individuals, by canceling their visa, or refusing to issue one or requiring a stamp identifying this individual as a sex offender to alert any country that they travel to.

Part of the rules is that a registered offender must notify the police of any foreign travel arrangements. How well this works in reality, I don't know, although here is a real example.

thank you 'thai at heart' a good example indeed how well the powers above can do us all good. before other nationals rip us blighties apart,

statistics fr other other nations ??????

no. of course, paedaphilia doesn't exist outside or uk or s.e. asia.....

gary glttier luckilly easily got labelled because of his fame, others doing worse travelling freely meyhinks.........

  6. Any one know this one?

i need to apply for a replacement passport for a 5 year old,old ones about to expire.is the procedure the same as getting the first one or will it be easier.i don't want the mother attending.is there a 'service' for doing something else as i have another child 3 yrs old needing their first passport, but again i don't want the mother knowing......

  7. I too am interested in the answers.

I'll be in Thailand on xmas eve with the teelak but after dropping off 3 tons of her luggage at the village near Korat I want to hire a car and see a bit of Laos and Cambodia. Just wondering if that is also possible.

Sorry to sort of hijack this thread but thought I'd join it rather than doing a seperate one.

not a good idea to take a rental car over the border to either place, get a car hired for thailand, the other 2 countries hire a car that comes with driver,or just use the bus and local transport as and when required.

  8. insurance..alright!!!

Thanks. Anyways, Do u or anyone recommend any famous company to rent the car. Sukhumvit area is preferred by me.

    Thanks

I usually use 'hoilday rent a car' located opposite royal garden on 2nd road, and another office the northern end of 3rd road.rented about 10 times various durations, never had a problem, always got the deposit back.i always ask for a discount and usually get one.

rented from avis before,no comment without deformation though.

also q cars near na jomtien cheap, pickups from 600 b a day up.

    good luck.....

  9. easy reply to this

i notice how expensive optional extras on cars, and standard kit on expensive cars get used. e,g front fog lights....

simply make indicators on bikes an optional extra for 5000 B,and hay presto, everyone will want them........and use them...

as for hazard lights, fkn hate them here, from the cars side, appears its intending to turn....doesn't the driver know i can't see both fkn sides at the same time......police should get both the tw@ts with front foggies and using hazards to go forwards.....

  10. Well, here's a tactic. Carry only ONE dose. If the fuzz arrives, just swallow it. If still put in the pokey, should make for a really interesting first night ...

...........if still in the pokey..??? yep thats me on half a bluey, nice one :)

...........or is 'pokey'slang for a certain part of the female anatomy.... :D

  11. mess to mods;this o t has also been repeated on the real estate forum, but i think it will have more viewers on this forum,if you need to delete one, please do ,but the one on the real estate forum,thanks....
