  1. dont worry about warranty

the hilux is almost bullet proof

just remember to let the turbo cool down after long or hard driving

the best upgrade is 20 inch wheels and good tires

drives better, feels better looks way better

go for the all electric super up lid, they say thats the best

get a chip or better a piggy back for better performance, the 1kd have a lot of untapped reserves...

enjoy your new ride, I do with mine...

  2. I drove straight from the toyota shop pattaya with a new prerunner and changed wheels from 17 with michelin to 20 with yokohama in january last year

got 30000 for the old, paid 59000 for the new set of 4

also put top up cover the same week at boy air and sound

no issues with insurance when renew this year with LMG, they just took some pictures

  3. the new MU7 getting this engine?

    same as in europe?

    Engine: 2.5-litre / 163 ps diesel

    Type: DOHC

    Bore and stroke: 95.4 x 87.4 mm

    Compression Ratio: 17:1

    Max torque: 400 Nm @ 1,400-2,000 rpm

Construction: Cast Iron Cylinder Block and Aluminium Head

    Valves: 16

    Max Power: 163 ps @ 3,600 rpm

  4. Try this vendor:

    http://www.absolute-premiumparts.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=42&Itemid=37

For memory most of their drop-in replacements are around 2000-2300, and the cleaning kits were around 400 Baht for the small one and 700 Baht for the large one. Genuine K&N.

    phoned absolute-premiumparts friday

then they sent a text message with amount and acc number

paid at nearest bank and texted my adress

got the filter and cleaning set the day after(saturday) in pattaya

thats quick, about 3000 thb for my Vigo

  5. Actually, the engine we do know - it'll be a 2.5L Twin Turbo (as supplied on EU market DMax's now), but the AT is an unknown..

Note that there was never going to be any collaboration between GM and Isuzu on engines for the current gen Dmax/PPV - so there's nothing to read into that.

So they chose a 2.5L twin turbo!

Now I wonder if the Trailblazer will stick with its (no vote of no-confidence?) 2.8L because of contractual agreements, etc., giving the public some 'choice' or will they also go with the 2.5 twin turbo? Is there anything out there to suggest how the 2.5 twin turbo performs? It will be interesting to see how it compares 'overall' to the other LOS SUV engines.

As noted, there is not going to be any collaboration between Chev and Isuzu on engines - both will be going their own ways on that. Chev will continue to use their VM Motori designed 2.5 and 2.8, Isuzu will be using updated versions of their tried and true 2.5 design (not the same as the Chev 2.5), and apparently retiring the 3.0

The updated twin-turbo 2.5 performs about the same as the current 3.0, with maybe a touch more noticeable torque. The big gain is in fuel efficiency over the outgoing 3.0

You can read some EU reviews of the 2012-3 Dmax to see what they say about the twin turbo lump...

    isuzu in norway:

    engine 4JK1-TC 2499cc

    120 kw/ 163 hp @ 3600rpm

    torque 400nm 1400-2000rpm

  6. go for the Prerunner 3.0G A/T (50th Anniversary edition) - 925.000
buy it in bangkok as I got a lot of bullxxxx and poor service from the toyota shop in pattaya
I have the vigo champ prerunneer 3,0G A/T with 20 inch wheels/yokohama parada/ecu shop piggyback and love it
lots of power and the 20 inch wheels really improve the look and handling

  7. Erm just a guess. Is it because they weigh 2 tonne and have the aero qualities of a barn ?

You may well of found the Speed answer. @ Tons and 170Bhp, the Power to weight Ratio , BHP per ton is low compared to a Car. I still wonder why Euro Diesels like in the Ford Mondeo don't Clatter, are they a different design?.
bhp sells cars, torque wins races

when you drive a car its the torque that accelerate the car unless you constantly are around 6000 rpm where the gasoline engine have its max hp

  8.

I visited Numchai today based on all the positive feedback. As mentioned there are 2 shops but the one by the pedestrian walkover is bigger and has a very large selection. I went specifically for a Trek bike but the owner (Neung)said they were not a Trek dealer and had no bikes. Being tall I require a large size and he had a few bikes that would meet my needs. They had Giant, Haro, and a few brands I have never heard of. One was called Wheeler which caught my eye but at 30,000 baht I want to do more research. Anybody know anything about this brand (Wheeler), it had a full compliment of Shimano components with an Italian (Marzocchi) front fork/shock?

  9. Most EGR closes at higher engine speed so blocking will not make any difference to max power. My impression with PJS was a small improvement in Torque below 2,000 rpm. The main benefit of blocking EGR is stopping the contamination of engine inlet air.

yes, thats how I understand it too

I want the cleaner engine/engine oil
