Sheryl - thank you so much for your reply and the information!

Thanks for the reply Sheryl, very much appreciated. May I ask regarding you and your sister's surgery if you two were awake, completely asleep, or had twilight? Are the facilities (OR) at Siriraj clean and modern? Did you feel the competency of the nurses was high?
Also, just out of curiosity, have you ever had a surgical procedure done at Bumrungrad? If so, how did it compare to Siriraj? Thanks!

I was recently diagnosed with a tumor in one of my fingers. I have seen 3 orthopedics in Bangkok and sent the xray and CT scan to a highly respected hand surgeon in the U.S. They all believe it is benign. But the only 100% way to know for certain is to remove it since biopsy is not an option due to the fact that the sample tissue able to be extracted from the finger would be too small to determine a definitive diagnosis. So I am considering surgery.
Has anyone on this forum:
1. Ever had any type of surgical procedure done by either Dr. Sumroeng Neti or Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul? Both are orthopedic doctors at Bumrungrad. Dr. Sumroeng is a spine and hand specialist and Dr. Apichat specializes in orthopedic oncology. Both have done fellowships at UCLA. I would be curious if the surgery went well and if the results were what was expected.
2. Ever had any type of surgery at Bumrungrad Hospital?
I'm a little nervous about having surgery in Thailand. Cost is not an issue as my Thai insurance carrier is covering it. Any feedback about these two doctors and Bumrungrad is appreciated.
Thanks!

sounds to me like the guy has separation issues.

These scum bags should get their 3-inch 'tusks' yanked out as punishment. Wouldn't be worth much on the open market but would be poetic justice.

for punishment they should make him ingest all 42 kg. and send him flying back to Tehran

I also have BUPA insurance in Thailand and am not very happy with them. I informed them at the onset on my application that I had a few different minor illnesses that I was treated for over the last few years (nothing serious), and the first time I got sick and needed some tests, they checked my medical records and due to the doctors notes & diagnosis', BUPA came back and slapped several permanent exclusions on my policy. One of them, I had written on the application that I had occasional stomach aches and was treated by a doctor and hospitalized one time overnight, but the doctor wrote the diagnosis was gastritis. I had a endoscopy done this year and there was no ulcer, no H Pylori, no cancer, etc., but because the doctor wrote very minor inflammation on the report, I now have an exclusion forever for an ulcer or gastritis.
Anybody else out there having problems with BUPA Thailand?

They should be given a warm shower, nice hot meal, freshly laundered clothes, and movie of their choice before being bound at the feet, sprayed with acid, gutted from head to toe, and tossed in the sea for fish food. IMHO
Enjoy the next quarter century of your life, boys!

I just had a colonoscopy done at Bumrungrad 2 days ago. I have had lower left abdominal pain ever since. When I called the hospital to inquire about it, I was told that many people experience a certain amount of discomfort or pain immediately following colonoscopy procedures, but that it should subside after 2-3 days. The pain comes and goes, but I'm starting to become concerned that the degree of pain when its present has not lessened. Has anybody else experienced this after a colonoscopy -- especially at Bumrungrad?
I have had four with about 15 polyps removed, all done in the UK as I don't trust them here. I have had some discomfort, if it does not go away with in time they say then go back. VC is nowhere near as good according to my consultant, but I guess it's a good option if you have no family history, my mum and sister had it.
is it you don't trust Bumrungrad specifically or all hospitals in Thailand?

Hi Rorro - I just came across your post and wanted to inquire if you have ever had surgery performed by Dr. Sumroeng Neti or if you recommended him based on word of mouth. I'm researching doctors who specialize in hand surgery for a procedure I need to have done. Thanks.
