  1. HI all, firstly sorry to post this question. I had looked through old posts but failed to find an answer, I have limited time available to me online.

MY question is if we are granted a marriage visa for my wife to come with me back to England, can she work straight away or does she have to wait untill full settlement is granted ?

your help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

  2. Yup, it's a pretty crazy movie and the plot is open to interpretation but it seems to me to be about choice and sacrifice for the good of others. Donnie sees a parrallell world in which if he survives the accident, lots of bad things happen to friends and family and even his future girlfriend! Anyway it's not as confusing as David Lynch's "Mullholland Drive" :o

  3. Great stuff! She didn't find the garlic jar offensive but when I hit her with Tum Dern she went crazy! :D

"Who teach you that? that not good in Thailand!" Laugh? I nearly bought a round. :o

It's just that she was trying to fix my mate up with a mate of hers and I asked her to describe her.... "she's beautiful Andy, she's tall and thin"

and if she's tall and thin... you are?

she thought for a minute and reluctantly said "err, short and fat"

    Anyway, we're still speaking!

    thanks again.

  4. My TGF is only 19 and undereducated. However, she is very nearly finished an English course and now has a job as a teaching assistant. I'm very proud of her, her spoken and written English have improved significantly and she is currently reading "James and the giant peach" which she loves.

  5. yes thanks for a little bit of inspiration. I sent this to a mate of mine who is worried we're doing the wrong thing giving up jobs earning £65,000 between us to start a small business in LOS. I'm just happy to be getting out the rat race because the thing about the rat race is that even when you're winning, you're still a rat!

  6. Ideally I would like to buy a small guesthouse with an internet cafe attached, obviously not something we can start in the uk. We are both currently completing TEFL qualifications as back up as we know the business will probably not generate a disposable income. There are also other ways of making pocket money including the widely debated selling on ebay etc... We're both just sick of life in the uk and want to give something a good go over in Thailand.

  7. Hi all, I am 30 yr old English Guy and planning on buying/leasing a small business in Pattaya. I am doing this with my mate, a 37 year old Englishman. To start, I do not expect to get rich with this venture, merely survive and I am prepared for hard work.

My main question is about Visas and work permits. What course of action should I take?

We are going over in three weeks to look at a few options and plan on moving there in September this year.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

  8. Hi, Any decent hotels in Pattaya offering real luxury for nott too much Baht? I have stayed in Sabai Lodge and Areca Lodge but want something a bit different but for less money than Hard Rock etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I am going June 27th
