  1. I live in Krabi and have had DSL service for two years with BBB via my TT&T telephone land lines. Excellent service most of the time. Three weeks ago they (TT&T) called and said we had to respond to the office and sign a new contract with TT&T as BBB had lost their current contract. This we did. One week later the internet service was disconnected. Responding to the TT&T office we were advised that they were now on satellite (whatever that means) and it was not offered in our area over one mile from "the road". This despite the fact that they just ran a new cable to the junction box where our Internet service originates.

DSL service for 2 years and now no service at all, Not a step forward. Due to the poor reception of Cell phone coverage Air card, is not an option and TOT towers do not cover the area. Well I guess that it is back to Dial up, if they even offer it anymore.

What really is irritating is that they had us sign a new contract fully aware that they would not be able to provide Internet service. TT&T truly lives in the dark ages as a service provider!

  2. Yep, your right. As long as there are people wanting an escape from reality and life in general, there will be dopers and addicts. But you know what, prior to the last crackdown, my neighborhood was plagued with shootings, robberies, murders and daily criminal stupidity. After three "dealers" resisted arrest and were sent to see Budda by the police, it has been a really nice place to live. I no longer have to escort my family to the main Soi.

  3. What a crock of sh-t, this report is ancient history.

Agreed, this is a useless rehash of long ago.

Must be a slow day for Nithi to publish this rubbish.

I find that aside from the long walks to the gates the airport is quite efficient and there have been many "fixes" over the last year or two.

  4. I can't see why the drug companies cannot subsidise the health issues of countries. They steal enough anyway!whistling.gif

Well, there you go, the socialistic point of view again. The USA drug companies spend millions if not billions on research and development of their products. They are not stealing, they want a return on their investment. That is the capitalistic way. Anyway, they do donate millions of dollars and their products to undeveloped nations. Check out all the medicine donated by leading companies to Africa and other developing countries to fight AIDS etc. These donations wouldn'nt be possible if the drug companies had not developed them through the research they spent billions on. There is no free ride in this life, somebody has to pay for it.

  5. Ampol also claimed the BOI offer could adversely affect health services for Thais.

Not, but will as Thailand's free market approach means that physicians will move to more profitable "Hub" facilities. The end result is a deterioration of care for all.

Yep, socialised medicine is what the Brits and most of Europe want. Heaven forbid the doctors earn a little money after years of hard work earning their doctoate. I hate to say it, but money is the motivation behind most of the cutting edge medical tecnology and research into new drugs. The Governments for the most part produce nothing but drones providing mediocre care. Even the Saudi King and the Prime minister of Canada seek health care in the USA. But then Obama is trying to change all of that.

  6. Like most countries of this planet, Thailand is violent, that's it.

    We have to accept that.

If we do not want violence, we have to go to... Canada? Norway?

Canada? Is that the place where some idiot killed 49 women, then fed them to his pigs. Or maybe it was on highway 16 that is called the "highway of tears", because so many dead bodies have been found murdered along the route. There is no country immune from violence. Don't know about Norway so won't comment.

  7. Robinsons Deprtment Stores would be a good start.

Robinsons Department store, which one. I only seen them sell clothing, perfum, ladies stuff, shoes and makeup.

Sukhumwit branch. Escalator to the 2nd or third floor. Have not been there for a few years though.

  8. Ain't gonna Happen!

Yeah - better donate to the EFF because frankly they're often the only ones who stand up and fight BS like this.

It seems to be a direct violation of the second amendment so not much chance of this happening - would get struck down just like similar attempts before (usually some anti-child-porn initiatives). But you still need somebody to fight it.

If your referring to the US amendments. The 2nd ammendment is the right to bear arms. Possibly you mean the 1st ammendment which is the guarantee of freedom of religion and speech

  9. You're lucky you got out of there, the food is pretty vile. Apologies to the owner if he has made an effort to change this recently.

Oh Please, The food is pretty good. The owner is Irish and tries to make it a decent place to have a few drinks.

next week 8-16 oct the chinese vegetarian festival hits krabi town amazing sights not for the faint hearted, definately worth a look if your in the area........;)

What are you babbling about! Not for the faint hearted? Eating vegetables is a problem? What are the amazing sights, a "300" pound carrot. I don't get it.

  11. My daughter age 11 has been in the school for 2 years. She is doing very well in all subjects except Thai, but she doesn't like studying Thai for some reason. She has been very happy there and all the kids get along great, no bullying, fighting at all. Your kids will like the school and they will definitely learn their subjects. Good ratio of teachers to students also. Hope this helps.

  12. I've been going to AJ's Hair Care and Nail Beauty Salon‎ on Sukhumvit Soi 18 since last year. You can walk to it from the Asok BTS in a few minutes. The place is very nice and modern and has a sophisticated feel to it. The staff there is trained to international standards of professionalism (compared to other places I have been to). The place is two levels, offers haircuts, pedicures etc. Not too expensive either.

    Two levels?

  13. . Pizza company is typical American crap !

Another biased criticism. I happen to like the Pizza Company and their thin crispy pizza. It is a little overpriced, but then what isn't in Ao Nang.
