  1. I wish you the best of luck. I have yet to engage a 'good' house painter here in Phuket. Every one of them want top dollar for a poor job. I have had some real horror stories. These days I use my own full time handy man for painting.

Yes i do agree not easy finding skilled labour for a fair wages in phuket.

your handy man could u consider to spare here some days or do u need him full time?

  2. Hello,

    Just wondering how it works.

Most bank in Thailand offer investment funds for their clients something like : a Fixed income fund and or a mixed Bonds fund with for example interest 2,9 % for period of 3, 6 or 12 months.

Once you buy it then they will give you an bank book that will state how many units you have bought of that fund.

Now it mine understanding that in case that bank is going bankrupt then only the saving and deposit accounts are protected by the government so not any investment funds are protected by government...

That is why these investment funds do not hold any tax there are tax free , but no government refund in case of bankrupt.

So then if that bank goes bankrupt and i have bought their mixed bond fund where can i then claim back my investment ?

Is there another company behind that bank still responsible?

Hope some one here can explain how this it..

    Thanks

  3. Why did u buy at Venetian?

Seems indeed a remote location and mostly BKK Thais bought lower priced units there.

You will need a car there for sure going back forward to down town jomtien en Pattaya.

FYI the najomtien beach is not that far away from Venetian probably only 1 km distance. That jomtien beach is hunderds of kilometers wide so why not find another vacant piece of land to get access to your beach!

By the way how many years before venetian and Centara are built up ? 3 years? I think if you hurry you can still go for a swim now.

  4. Hi,

I consider to invest money in some lower risk Mutual funds and or fixed income funds in Thailand.

Example K Bank offers 3,2 % on a fixed income fund account there is no tax to pay but the percentage is not fully quaranteed.

Krungsri has alot of these lower risks funds also...Then i saw also mutual fund of Aberdeen.Who has experiences these type of investment funds?

  5. Far as i know the bank quarantee is max 1,000,000 in Thailand. For what ever the quarantee is worth lets say !

Now my tanachart bank show me a new document it says that it is changed till 10/8/2015 the quarantee is 50 million BHT.then from 10/8/2015 till 10/8/2016 it will be 25 M BHT.Then from 10/8/2016 onwards it will be max one million bht quarantee..

I have the document infront of me it is in thai language but i can see the dates and the amounts...

For someone not believe me i can upload this thai document that i got from the manager of the tanachart bank...

This means if it correct that no need to stay under the 1,000,000 for the next 3 years.

Can someone still double check this for me with their banks ?

  6. No sorry all i know is that it is no longer needed...Immigration officer told me myself one year ago !

it been dropped only need the renewal the visum each 90 days at one desk only and there pay 1900 bht ,then u go to the next desk where they check work done by desk one...Then u can back home...

No need to go like in the past to another desk for the reporting

The retirement visa guys so people above 50 years however still need to do the reporting..

  7. Hi,

I have some goods for sale such as : Epson printer/scanner,a Fax machine,a Answering device,Electroluxe micro wave,Samsung Flatscreen 42 inch, and a Samsung dolby surround speaker set 7 pieces and 2 Samsung DVD players.

All has been bought by me new in the shop 3-4 years ago.

I do not need these items no longer as my current house is fully furnished and in order to get more space i like to sell it off.

Does anyone know a pawn shop who might be interested in the items?

Or maybe some market place where i can bring it too?

I intend sell it not one by one but just to some local trader who will buy all or most of it in a single time.

  8. Dear all,

8 years ago i bought a freehold condo in Thailand.

I made then several payments from my overseas bank to the Thai bank account of the thai developer.

Now some months ago i have finally sold that condo.

so I received several Million bhts from the buyer in my thai bank account and for safety i have divided that amount over several different thai banks,,,

Now I intend to buy multiple off plan freehold condos in Thailand with the proceedings of my last sale.

So now how can i start to make stage payments again with my money that is already in my thai bank account? How do i prove that it was innitually coming from overseas.?

and Do i need to prove the destination of my money at the beginning of my payments or at my final payment only ?

I hope some one knows the correct procedure

    Greetings,
