  1. Good news ...

    Not that anyone's bothered ..

The man that drinks white whiskey and lives in a tent goes through the rubbish bins .. Didn't know he did..

But luckily he found me passport and kept it .. Have given him 2000 baht and yeah he will drink that .. Thinking of buying him a new tent ... ..

    So happy days ..

Had to have one happy day eventually I suppose

Thank u to budda as the wife said she asked him last night ..

And thanking u all for your comments and help .

  2. Moving back to uk

Has anyone got a number of a shipping company

Got a load of boxes to send .. Was easy from uk called the company they turned up weighed boxes we payed them and it arrived 3 months later

Just can't seem to find anything gojng the other way !

  3. Movin out of here end of the month

Live in Nakhon sawan going to uk

Anyone know any shipping firms ...

I know some in pattaya ...

But bit stuck here other than driving to pattaya

    Any help i would appreciate

  4. Well i was told this about it being cancelled .. Went to Mae sot gave them my new passport and my old one with visa in .. They looked puzzled for a while and then gave me new one back .. And said .. We not see this .. I explained old one nearly expired and so using new one .. No they said . Stamped me out

Into Burma then left .. Back into Thailand no problem ..

Then I should have gone to immigration nakhon sawan and asked what to do ..

    I didn't ..

    Now I'm knackered !

  5. Thanks guys ..

Have a copy of my old passport photo page but stupidly sent everything else with the passport application ..

    Copy of visa etc

Am leaving thailand or trying to in 28 days but on a blank passport ....

Plus will be on over stay as would av been due a visa run on the 16 th September ......

Just don't know what to do ... Have called Bangkok ... Didn't have alot of joy ..

Haven't called Mae sot as yet ..

Nakhon sawan immigration seemed to think they may be able to find me on there pc ..

The other option is calling hull in uk where visa was issued ...

Don't know if this will help

  6. Advice ...

Applied for a new passport via Hong Kong .. No problems it arrived the other day ..

As we are moving have misplaced my old passport which had my multiple entry visa in it ..

Been to Nakhon sawan immigration who told me to photo copy it ..

    As u know I can't as I not have ..

Explained this .. She then said go back to uk get another visa ....

Is there any other way ..

My last visa run was done in Mae sot

    Another option she said

    Go police station get letter

    Go Bangkok British embassy

    Then go Mae sot

    Then come back here

It's bad enough going Mae sot let alone Bangkok aswell

Any ideas would appreciate them .....

  7. have rented loads of cars and trucks since i have been going to thailand for the past 16 years

in my experience Q cars is by far the best

i had a toyota vigo truck for three weeks

the windscreen broke and there were a couple of scratches on the truck when i took it back

think the owner is jon fox and his mother works there with him

had no problem with her and she was very friendly

before i took the car back i had it cleaned in and out and polished

have booked for xmas this year same truck

    very good website

  8. The reason for the question is my Thai wife will have the use of a car during my next visit to Thailand.  We need to drive between BKK and Nakhon Sawan (4 hours north).  I wonder if I were to help out with the driving is it more likely I would get pulled over and driving documents checked?

driven from bkk to n/sawan a fair bit have been stopped a couple of times

also on way backto bkk have seen the old bill on side of road holding a massive radio wearing those police issue shades watchin the cars drive by lookin for there next paycheck

i have had to pay 500 baht for speeding and once in bangkok got stopped taken to a booth and had to pay 200 baht for driving in the bus lane

after i paid i was told to use the bus lane to go quick quick and not wait in traffic

i only ever had uk licence on me which was ok ..

but in 13 years driving backwards and forwards on this boring road probably been lucky with the men in the brown suits and shades...just drive sensible and u should be ok

i only ever hire a car with insurance but u never really know ...after all at the end of the day u r a farang drivin in thailand!!

  9. Are there any good hospitals in the Nakon Sawan area? Are the doctors and staff pretty good and know what they are doing? Do they have a web site or a telephone number?

my mate had to go into hospital as his arm popped out while swimming

nice room nice staff bathroom etc

had tv but couldnt understand it . !!

he was in there for a night

it was the hospital that u can see the park from

i spent a few hours in one after a night on the razzle .. think i overdone it !

wouldnt bother me if i had to go into hospital in nakhon sawan ...cant say i could say the same about uk

  10. Hello all,

I am new to this forum, but I have traveled to LOS last year. Bangkok and Koh Samed. I am interested in working in Asia as a Scuba Instructor when I retire (around 5 years from now). Are these Scuba Interns legite, and do people actually land jobs upon completion. I am a certified open water diver with only 20 dives. Even after completing the internship, it seems like there would be plenty of other more expierenxed divers and a highly sought after job.

    http://www.learn-in-asia.com/relocate_live...work_abroad.htm

hello mate i was interested in doing this scuba course last year..sadly didnt get there due to a few problems here in uk and things didnt go as planned

i was told by a few people that finding jobs can be very hard . i was also told that ther are jobs on the islands but it is seasonal..

also heard that money is good and others said dont earn enough

try speaking to a bloke called peter from pjscuba thnk he has something to do with learn in asia

    he was quite helpful

let me know if u go 4 this scuba intership

    cheers

Bung Bora Pet just outside Nakhon Sawan is supposed to be very good, usually see people fishing around there. Its supposed to be the biggest sourse of freshwater fish in thailand. Not really into it myself so cant give you more details sorry

we pasted that last month and called, its more like a big fish farm and the wife said you couldn't fish there, might be wrong though.

Just located Bung san lan near BKK on the map, its Bang Kapi on the 304 road, funnily enough were going to Min Buri to pick up a mate tomorror so will call in and check out the prices etc.

bung borapet can be fished ....this fish was caught in pattaya but have caught the same sort of fish in nakhon sawan at bung borapet....used somesort of bread with a smelly smell added..same as carping in uk

wanna know anymore or seemore fish just ask

im going after xmas if anyone wants to join us...but beware wife will always catch more!!!!!:o)

what sort of fish is that. Blaa sawaay????

    sure is

  12. anyone interested?  as a day trip or even a one-off to learn how to catch them the thai way?  cat fish, tilapia, sawai, chedo (sorry i don't know the proper english names for those last two)... i'm posting on behalf of someone i highly recommend. he speaks good english and has a tour guide license, and fishing is his true passion in life. he's been out to places and seen non-thais fishing and generally spends half his time helping them sort everything out and teaching them about the ways of thai fish.  he'll tell you where the best places are to catch the fish you want. he'll even show you how to cook them if you're interested.

caught a few of these but would like to catch a few carp anyone know where??post-9470-1126810465_thumb.jpgpost-9470-1126810542_thumb.jpg

  15. a friend of mine has brought 3 bars two at the top of soi 9 one has a live band that r not bad and the other has a show

he has to pay for the show as he is in a complex where u have to do this trouble is he cant play music when show is on and u cant really see the show with out getting neck ache

the other bar is in soi 2 been there a bit it is down nr the toilets and is very quiet

he went on a visa run and when he returned the staff had drunk most of the beer and spirits :o

they obviously had a good night but he didnt

it looks very stressfull and he is all ways in competition with surrounding bars

pattaya is not all ways busy but he still has to fork out the wage bill

my advice is dont bother stear well clear of bars and by the sounds of it most businesses in thailand

id do anything to move out there but ive been through the bar options...in fact been through most options

and still trying to sort it!!

  16. are u living in thailand >

if so do u work there? or just on holiday fishing?

im sure there is good money to be made with the correct advertising bringing people on taylor made fishing holidays

  17. sure would like to

but sadly in uk at mo

why dont this guy start a business sure there would be loads of people interested in fishin thailand

i know of a lot of uk carp anglers who would luv to try to catch a large fish in thailand

  18. sounds interesting

does he know where to catch these huge carp in chiang mai

i see about them in a mag in uk
