Hey if you're upset at dual pricing, what about this. I'm American of Asian ancestry and often times I'm mistaken as a native Thai. I'm able to speak basic Thai and enjoy conversing with the locals in their language. I'm often denied entry at bars where Thais are NOT allowed. I tell them I'm not Thai but actually American. Again they don't believe me because they expect an American to look like your average American TV or movie star, a farang. I'd pull out my American ID just to prove my point but then will decline to enter and proceed to patronize another club. Soapies, I get the thai discount, but the Grand Temple, I pay the foreigner price. It's kind of confusing when they think I'm Japanese, then depending on where I'm at, I might be charged even more than your average farang! TOT....This is Thailand, oh well.

Super Rich is the place to do it for small to medium amounts.

Amounts over 20,000USD there are better ways.

If I had over $20,000, what is a better way of exchanging it into baht? I normally exchange my USD at VASU, does SuperRich give you a better rate?

I have NEVER seen a farang been asked for ID.

It galls my girlfriend a lot in that she gets asked for ID (she is 30) and i dont, and nor do any of the other farangs with us. Ha ha ha.

They are trying to do this for the Thai youth. They dont care if farangs drink themselves silly as long as they pay for their drinks !

And I'm over 50 years old.....and before I could get into Angelwitch, they asked me for my ID.....Thinking that I look like a Thai person. Thais are not permitted in Angelwitch and a lot of other go-go bars. I studied Thai for over 6 years and I love to speak the language but because I'm Asian-American, I can pass myself off as a Thai. hel_l, I get more doors opened to me when I speak English in Thailand. I just feel a bit sorry for your average thai guy who isn't allowed into a club in his own country.

I only fly if I have to. I much prefer trains. Unfortunately, it's hard to catch a train to Australia!

Must be rough being a 48 year old farang woman in Thailand. No action for her and no way to keep her man's eye from wandering. A farang woman just can't compete with a young thai girl.

Now in a western country, marriage or no willing lovely young girls will keep a middle aged man in his place. But in Thailand, too much temptation for an older man. We can read between the lines why the farang woman shot her BF.

Because a "minority" 10% of the population commits about 50-60% of the murders. Shhh were not supposed to talk about it. Public info in the FBI crime statistics for those who don't believe it.

And that the 10% minority comprise of 55% to 60% of the jailed population!

Hey thanks for that Birthday Subway Sanwich.....that was just great. Now I'm back in California, and I miss all the BBQ's and other cusines of Thailand. Take care....ha ha ha ha ha

talk about thai bbq's...  I was just at that place that the totster talked about 2 days ago.

went with a friend.  spent at least 2 hours eating.  had a great time.

ate at least 5 trays of food.  left the place feeling like a pig.  and happy as ######.

besides all the marinated meats, they had watermelon for fruit.  I had a plate of pad kapow gai, some egg rolls, teriyaki chicken, a bunch of vegetables. liked their version of spam too.  if you like, you can get shrimp too. but it costs extra.

eating at all-you-eat places for about 2 dollars, and watching first run movies for 2 dollars. 

ahhh.  what a life.
