  1. This high season is pretty low, increased competition for money, police owned jet skis, corrupt police everywhere, why is anyone surprised this shit is happening? These Irish guys will go home and tell their friends, who will tell their friends, etc etc , next high season even lower, blah blah.

This is not Disney Land people, pay attention.Give then what they want, the police are in on it, and live to play another day.

You have hit the nail on the head. Tell everyone about these thugs.

  2. By my count, I have heard of/observed Thai/farang owned businesses in Thailand which discriminate against/exclude blacks, Indians, Middle eastern people, Burmese, Hill tribes, strangers and in a few cases farang and/or Thai. So the possibility that anyone from anywhere in the world could eventually find someone/place in Thailand where they would not be served or feel unwanted is fairly high. But, this can probably be said for every country in the world, so why make such a deal out of it?

Because it is wrong. I stay away from everyone, it's safer but lonely. I try to go to places that are empty. It was difficult in India and China.

  3. Thought I saw this report earlier today on Thaivisa. Either way it looks like the head honcho in Sweden emptied the salary account of about 17 M baht and have not been seen since.

Leaving about 160 Thai workers stranded without pay and means to get back home.

Hope they get the bastard... :realangry:

Well they won't have to look to hard, I'm sure he will be living in Thailand somewhere near a beach. Remember Thailand and Sweden have a special relationship. They do a lot of business together. That in itself is interesting but rarely discussed in the media. The Thai embassy will help them. Please.

  4. Very clever and cunning!

good luck to both of them. greed is a great way to go after people.

and the kid has chipped teath, probably head first over handle bars of a push bike or similar as most kids do at one time or another, and the mother not being able to afford treatment or maybe she is just a bitch, who knows!

anyway, at least the young lad is in good hands now.

How do you know the young boy is in good hands?

jeez! not too hard to work out is it?

First of all, I believe the story is from the Daily Mirror newspaper (I use that term gaurdedly) which has a proven dislike for anything Thai. See previous posts...in which simply living in Thailand is equated with living in "squalor" also by the Mirror.

Secondly, I don't disagree that the child may be better off financially and for lifestyle advantages in the U.K. I have no information regarding the child except what I read in this news story...so I assume that the boy is happier in the U.K. However, there is no proof of that is there? Just the word of the Daily Mirror and it's anti Thai bias to go on.

The point I want to make is that this story just automatically assumes that his MOTHER, being Thai, is somehow less likely to love the boy than her FATHER (who being a Brit is naturally superior to her). To be fair, for all I know she may be a true B_tch...but there is no proof of that.

I'm not quibbling here, but simply making the assumption that the boy living in the U.K. seperated from his mother, will automatically be happier than living in Thailand is something that may be an assertion...but requires proof to be true.

Assumptions are well...... with this type of situation probably true. My guess she wasn't making money from the child (support) so she was happy to say goodbye. The police?? Must of been a financial trasation somewhere. Good work Dad and the Mirror.

  5. Wow....are those balls I can see on Thai Visa. I know they're small but just imagine if they actually got bigger and really reported the truth and let people actually say what's on their mind. That would be amazing and people like myself might actually start to believe some of the crap on here. Or is this just the Nation that outstanding newspaper.......LOL

  6. Considering to have a travel agency license you need 10M Baht paid up capital you would think in that alone there would be grounds for arrest. The brown mafia have no difficulty in picking up any foreigner and detaining them on any verbal complaint indefinitely but a police warrant cannot be enacted for 4 days? I mean really - this country is really beyond belief in so many ways! Simply unbelievable. I guess they have had a 'word' and of course, received a payoff to allow the perp to run away!

What with airport scammers from King Power, tourists being left stranded, red shirts smashing down Royal Cliff, politics, continuing jumping suicides (does Pattaya hold the world record for death by dropping out of buildings?) and more hangings than any other country also as suicides and the victims somehow managing to put a plastic bag over their heads and trying the hands behind their backs - it is no wonder we all come for holidays and live here - the entertainment value is beyond belief!

    Well Said.....

  7. :) Good way to draw attention to a place that desperately needs people to show up and pay the fee to enter. It is a sad sad park if you can call it that. Hippo lost??? I don't believe it. Were the 100 so called searchers wearing identical shirts with baby hippo lost on them?? Media attention good or bad always gets you in the talk. Just look at places like this.
