Apparently it's OK to wipe yourself and others out if you're wide awake and non-violent, but distracted due to uncontrollable laughter, bingeing on snacks, staring at that cool sunset or having a "really fantastic idea".

You can add "texting on their cell phone" to the list as well

  2. I am a UK National, but have been living in Chiang Mai for the last 15yrs. I'm currently in West Africa on work assignment and have been for the last 10 weeks (and counting). I'm attempting to fly back to Thailand rather than head back to UK and self quarantine there for two weeks and then attempt to fly to Thailand end of May/early June.

The majority of flights through UAE (my normal route) wont resume flights until June 1st but I have seen one option via an East African hub which is due to commence flights to BKK on May 1st. Question being - is it still Fit To Fly certificate and Medical Insurance that I need to supply on arrival?

I had read reports previously of a negative COVID-19 test result was required as well. On checking into this, I cannot get a COVID-19 test unless I am showing symptoms of the virus itself - does anyone have the most up to date information on this? I will be departing a country with less than 700 cases and transiting through another country with less than 200 cases.

Also - on arrival and clearing Customs & Immigration, are new arrivals still being driven to quarantine centres in Chonburi ?

Last question (I promise) - as domestic flights appear to be grounded for some weeks yet, is it still possible for me to drive to Chiang Mai once I have cleared quarantine and would that then mean a further two week quarantine on arrival there ?

Yeah, I had heard similar stories about Manila and people getting refused.

I've been to Manila for my Non-Imm O visa for the past three years and I'll be going again this year in early December. I've always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, waiting room is nice and cool and I'm usually there for a maximum of twenty minutes - submit Monday AM and collect Wednesday afternoon

The test itself is a joke

Make them all pass a UK style test would go a long way to improve safer driving

When I did my test, there was a class of around thirty - six of whom were sleeping another 8-10 on cell phones, they should have been removed from the test centre and been refused to sit the test for 6-12mths.

There needs to be more on public roads tuition, a closed environment training circuit doesn't prepare people for real driving circumstances. You hardly ever see learner drivers out with a driving instructor.

Worst of all, they really need to clamp down on people jumping red lights - the driving standards around Chiang Mai are worsening by the year.

There are simply to many people dying needlessly on the roads here, give correct training and a proper driving test - if people cannot pass the test then they shouldn't be allowed on the roads in the first place. I also agree that anyone not having passed their test (without a license) - crush their car or bikes.

  5. The Red Lion just off from the night bazaar has the best I have had in Chiang Mai so far. There may be others that I haven't tried, but you'll get a large portion that's for sure.

Red Lion gets my vote too - also try Game out by Hang Dong, sells Magners on draught as well ;)

  6. Its going to be difficult to contain, what about all the other passengers on the flight.Lets hope this guys tests negative.

For your information ..... Ebola is not spread like flu by inhalation it is spread by contact with bodily fluids from an infested person.

That means an infected person generally has to touch you at the very least to infect you.

You can not get infected from sitting in the same plane as the infected person, you need to contact him or her by touching them. directly.

The reason it spreads so fast in those countries in Africa where it is spreading is because relatives have a custom of washing a sick or dead person's body to "clean" them, and that's how Ebola is usually spread.

Ebola cases so far are being spread by direct contact .... it doesn't spread through the air by breathing in the virus like the flu or a cold does.

I've heard that Ebola has mutated and can be spread by breathing now. Are you a doctor? Are you sure?

Ask yourself the same question - are you a Doctor, you are going on heresy yourself.

At this time, the virus can only be spread by contact of bodily fluids.

The virus itself is quite fragile when exposed to atmosphere and simple soap and water can kill it - good hygiene drastically reduces chances of exposure. As mentioned above, people who are contracting the virus are often relatives who are caring for sick family members.

  7. Don't forget, a lot of the protesters are not part of the Democrat party. Just tired of government corruption and lies. This isn't about the Democrats, though they are leading the protests. If it was just to get them back in power, the protesters wouldn't be there.

Well, why not put your claim it to the test at the ballot box?

Why are you afraid of an election?

Just a thought, but what would the result of a legitimate election be if votes weren't bought ?

This isn't a religious divide, it's the poor who hold the power by the shear number who can vote - the people need to be educated on the voting process to enable a true legitimate government to be formed.
