Loburi you are right as usual, the officer just smiled and said only 15 days on re-entry. My friend quite clever didn’t believe him and refused to cross to Burma. He is now worried how to proceed, afraid he will lose his visa still valid. I don’t know what to advise him, do you have a link to the correct procedure? Most grateful

OK you are all going to say; no way he should not have been knocked back. The fact is he was, and I don’t know why. I read all about these guys going over, coming back with a new 1 year.
I just wonder if Mea Sai knows the rule about this kind of visa, issued in Canada.
Anyone have a link to Thai immigration reference the Non Immigrant O A Multiple entry, I have searched but can’t find it. Most appreciated Thanks

That happend to me in Chiang mai, I went to the high officer and explained the problem. After alot of talking with his junior officer they changed the used stamp. I think you should visit your nearest immigration and explain what happend. Wish you luck

Me too, agree we should not forget. But we should control the content/ I dont very much like people wearing a T shirt with Bin laden, but Thai youth think its cool. Shows ingnorance as far as I can see??/

Sorry to burst your bubble, I have lived in Thailand with my Thai wife for almost 20 years. I have worked in Thailand with a work permit. SCB completely refused a credit card. Good news apply with your wife as the main card to Neon. They will give you as a second card holder

Sorry I don’t mean to be callous; maybe you should move to a better place

Yes Soi 8 the Royal Asia Lodge and paradise, very excellent room free internet. Very good Breakfast Buffet, I must say I was well surprised 890 baht. You can book online.
-
I did stay in soi 8 last month, but at the Royal Asia lodge. As you say quite cheaper than the usual soi 4 or around that area. Close to Nana skytrain and most of those hotels provide a free Tuk Tuk to Suckhamvit main Road. I would reccomend in a heartbeat.

Sorry for the families, my wife and son recently traveled fro CMX to BKK stop off in tapanhin. the train just stopped on the mountain between CMX and lampang ( engine trouble} she was 4 hours delayed. Yesterday our relatives travel on the same route but to CMX 2 hours for the train to get engine problem. I would not get on any train now in Thailand. They have no maintenance or safety procedures. Don’t go on the train

No. The office is in Chiang Rai for both Chiang Rai and Phrayo Province.
First province after number is the office location for that province and any following on same line
Sorry Im a bit thick what do you mean, does that mean all people must visit Mae Sai, BTW nowhere near our location. Thanks
-
Are we to believe a new office will open in Phrayo, for people living in Chiang Rai district? That would mean I wouldn’t need to drive all the way to Mae Sai Right??
-
Depends on how you perceive life, I think afterlife yes but not as we know it.

Thats not quite right, I have always been asked to provide a new letter each year from British Consulate Chiang Mai.
Thats since 2004. I wondered why as my circumstances remain the same

Just a second thing, must I use the immigration office in my chang wat or will any office do the transfer??? Chaing Mai is nearer to my place. Cheers

I hope to renew my passport next month, pages fill so quickly. (UK Passport)
Wonder has any member got experience, transfer Extension & Re-entry to new passport? I will need to make it at Mea sai Immigration. What will they require any documents? fee ?
Thanks

I’m sure this has been discussed before, but would like an update on this subject.
I work in Overseas on a 35x35 day rotation, so I enter & exit Thailand every 5 weeks. My passport fills up very quickly.
Previously I have always used Chiang Mai Immigration, very helpful people. Now with new regulations I must go to Mae Sai, I believe them not to be so helpful. Also quite far from my village, actually my house is nearer to Chiang Mai.
Regarding transfer of Extension etc, what would they require anyone been through this???
BTW I’m on retirement Extension, expires in Jan 2010. I will most likely change my passport next month in BKK British Embassy.
Any advise please members

Yes just asked the guy about the date of visa, it was issued in October. He didn’t enter Thailand until 2 December 2008, you and the immigration are right. His visa only valid until Oct 2009. I have pointed this out to him, now he must apply for extension of stay. Thanks for all your help, now which way to go? Via 800k or letter from Canadian consul. He must find out the requirement from them. OK TiT strikes again
