You don't need a degree for a workpermit or visa....You need it to get a teacher's licence.
A school will apply for a temporary teacher's licence waiver for 2 years and then after that you are supposed to sit some exams and will be granted a Teacher's licence.
There are thousands of legal teacher's here with out degrees on teacher licence waivers!

We done ours on Thursaday , they phoned me up to day to ask for a copy of my Thai bank passbook . I gave them a full statement printed and signed at the bank , but they said they don't want that , they want the passbook only???

Quick question on how I should put together all my documents..
Do I need to photocopy everything ?
Do they keep the originals and translations while they are processing the application and then return them or do they just check the and take photocopies?
Cheers for any help , I am under a mountain of paper work!!!!!

Can Settlement visas be started while on a visit visa?
-
Does any one have any experience with their Thai partner studying in the UK?
Just general college courses , not university degrees..
My wife has a degree in Law and I think it would kill 2 birds with one stone , keeping here busy when we go back to the UK for a while and getting a longer visa...
Thx..

Thanks for all your help.....will keep you updated on the outcome ...

Maybe I will go home with my 2 kids and demand a council house and live off benefits for a year if this is the way British nationals are treated when they want to return home with their family.
I'm definitely not paying 37,000 and waiting months for a settlement visa for a year in the UK either.
So, there is no visa for someone wanting to stay in the UK for 12 months without settling?
-
So what is the option to guarantee that she can stay for 1 year?
Thanks for all your help aswell...
-
So if I decide to stay in the UK for a year our family will have to be split up for 6 months.
That is crazy....What a stupid system...
I can't see where the problem is if we stay for 6 months have a break for a month back in Thailand and then return for another 6 months..
Is a year really too long a time to spend in the UK ?
-
Make it a bit clearer....
I am married to a Thai national and we have 1 child together.
I have a 5 year old Thai/English son (full custody)
We want to go back to the UK for 6 months , maybe 12...
If we go for 6 months and want to stay longer what option will she have to stay longer.
I don't think we could apply for a longer visit visa from the start due to finances.
Thx ...Ben

I read that it can be extended for children in education . I have full custody of my 5 year old son , would that count?
The real thing here is I don't know whether we'll all stay for 6 months or 12.
If we chose 12 months then our family would have to be split up for 6 months??
-
So if she returned to Thailand alone and her child was in the UK she probably wouldn't be aloud to return to the UK on another tourist visa?
The child would be 14 months old..
-
We don't intend to settle in the UK , just take a break from Thailand.
Would we really be expected to apply for a settlement visa to stay for a year ?
-
If I go back to the UK with my wife and child on a 6 month visit visa and we decided we wanted to stay longer , would she be able to fly back to Thailand and apply for another 6 month visa or does she have to leave for 6 months before she can apply again?
Thx .....

Wonder how much money it took?

I wonder how many on the Senate and in the government have sent their University 'friends' to these
abortion clinics.

Main bus station in completely under water.....Probably better off getting off at the Mall....
St.Mary's hospital car park is 2 metres deep now and alot of wrecked cars around...
It is really bad in the affected areas and looks like they are struggling to sort all the people out..

It has been so bad , I had to phone my wife at 4am Saturday and tell her I couldn't get home from the pub.

We've just had a meeting along with all contracted staff and told that non-government staff aren't getting 12 month salaries (government's new policy).....
We're an EP inside a government school and have been reassured that our money will be kept aside for our April salaries. They were pretty clear that it's a government policy and affects anyone who is being payed directly BY them.
Just a heads up...

I just tried to look into online banking for Krung Thai and when I tried to apply it asked for my passport number/Bank Account number and pin!
Looks pretty dodgy...the link below is the screen that asks you for your details.
Maybe it's ok , but asking for your pin is a first.
