I stayed in Chaweng in May 2004 and used a local type restaurant on several occassions, I found it great value. I have friends visiting Chaweeng next month and I can't recall the name to give them. It was a hundred metres or so north of NAKORN restaurant with a name like 1st Choice or similar, a basic place but the food was good and cheap. Any assistance much appreciated, Cheers.

I have friends who would like to visit Koh Samui for 2 weeks but the only time they could be there is the last week of October and first week of November.They are a couple with a 9yr old child and they would like to know more about the weather they could expect at that time, for how long does it rain? is it windy? they don't want to be confined indoors for several hours per day.

I've never visited at that time of year so any assistance much appreciated.

Can anyone advise me on the best way to obtain the cheapest rate for a good hotel in Chaweng. I've stayed before, booking through, Amazing Samui, Asia Travel, Asia Hotels and contacting the hotels directly. I always come away thinking I've paid too much for hotels compared to the price of eating out etc. in Samui. This time I'd like to stay in the Chaweng Regent or Baan Haad Ngam Resort for 14 nights , the cheapest price I've found is £65:00 a night B&B for a double (4,300 ish Baht). I know I can get cheaper hotels, I'd just like to stay at one of these but paying the lowest rate available. When we stay in the Philippines my wife, a fillipina is able to obtain a local rate which is a fraction of the advertised price. Any suggestions as to the best way of obtaining the cheapest rate for the above hotels or similar quality, any assistance very much appreciated.

Hi, has anyone any recommendations for a good tailor for made to measure shirts?

I was there last year and purchased 10, they were ok but I somehow felt

ripped-off with both the workmanship and the prices. Anyone know the going rate for both, cotton and silk shirts along with a recommended shop. I am staying in Chaweng but any recommendation would be welcome, cheers for now.

Any recommendations for reasonably priced Seafood Restaurants and traditional Thai restaurants in Chaweng or anywhere on the island fo that matter. Also any good live music restaurant/pubs preferably with Philippino bands.
