Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear enough in my original post. I have bought batteries via Lazada, for other solar lights. From this forum, I now know also not to buy the 18650; 12000mAh batteries sold there.
What I need advice on is how to get inside the light. As Crossy noted there 4 clips holding the glass. I have removed them, but the glass seems very well stuck to the plastic. I didn't want to break it. Is it worth trying to slip a screwdriver between the glass and the plastic?
Thanks for your help and also thank you to Crossy for his solar project on the garage roof.

I was about to start a new topic then I read this one, which "answers" my problem. The problem is how to replace the battery in that solar light? (below)
As now that seems very difficult, does anybody know of a manufacturer who makes these type of solar lights that actually you can open?
How long should the battery last?

Apologies. Should have said 78 not 90 which was yesterday.

There are 90 local transmissions today amongst Thais. Nearly all the rest are from migrants from Myanmar.
Go to worldometers.info Scroll to the bottom for the list of countries adding data. Find Thailand. Click on green source and will display in Thai. Total today is 271. Figure below is 90 and below that is migrants. Same info as on Thai tv news

Thanks for all the replies.
Looks as if they are safe to eat.
They certainly don't last long. The ones in the photograph are already brown.

Two further tests on the 8th August were negative.

What about Singapore? Do you trust their figures?
Their total is now 91 (58 discharged free of virus), with very few new cases in the past week.
Viruses do not like heat. Maybe that is why there are so few reported cases in Thailand.

Living in Ban Chang. This is the first time in 15 years that Christmas and birthday cards have gone missing. Post Office said 'new postman', but now even local post seems to have stopped.

Thanks for the replies that were constructive.
Vern also thinks python. Sorry the photo was a bit blurred, but taken quickly as I don't like to get too close. Usually only golden tree snakes around here.
That is my first python, and the markings were impressive.

I have been using the Huawei E5836 wireless modem successfully for over 2 years. Unfortunately the HB4F1 battery is no longer charging.
I have tried Tukcom and Powerbuy, but no one seems to know where I can buy this battery. Does anyone know anywhere in Pattaya, or an equivalent?

Still no replies from anyone using or tried to use the box.
Newspaper article suggested it could be used for Internet TV. What other boxes are available in Thailand?
Penta costs about 3000 baht.

Is anyone using this or can recommend it. Featured in yesterday's Bangkok Post.
Is it mainly for Thai TV?
Any info useful.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a child's car booster seat in Pattaya?
They cost about £12 in the UK, but car hire companies at Heathrow charge at least £4 per day.
I have seen many infant seats, but never the simple booster one.
Thanks

Update 8/6/2013
Part 1 - Success.
It is only possible to apply for a UK tourist visa, a maximum of 3 months before the date of travel. Not very long if you have a tenant in your UK house, who requires notice. This application took 3 weeks to process.
The application requested an August start date and the full six months. It also included the reasons, particularly that the 2 children need a mother to look after them. They refuse any help in the toilet from their father.
In reply to a poster above, my children speak, read and write English as well as Thai. However their spoken English is "Tinglish" as spoken by many Thais and Farangs. No final "s", no "a" or "the", etc. Understandable but pidgin. They will start their Scottish school on August 14th.
However it is an experiment, for all of us and whether we can cope with the Glasgow weather and food for 6 months, I just don't know.
After August I will update this thread with our experiences of going back to the UK - positive and negative.

Thanks for your constructive comments.
I hadn't heard of a 2 year visitor's visa, but I presume that you would need to leave the UK after 6 months. How long before she could return? My wife has had 2 tourist visas, before, staying about 4 weeks each time. The last one was 4 years ago.

I am a UK citizen, currently living in Thailand, with 2 children ages 6 and 4 and a Thai wife. We have been strongly advised to have the children spend one school year in a UK school, in order to give them a lifelong foundation in the English language. The children have British nationality, but what visa would be required by my wife, their mother?
Is there an alternative to the settlement visa, as we intend to return to Thailand.
Any relevant advice would be appreciated.

Just come back from my annual visit to north Yasothon province. Great to have had so much sunny weather, if not so good for the rice.
We usually stay at the Pu Din hotel, but where have all the farangs gone? I was looking forward to treating myself to a good English breakfast opposite (near the Glass House). Now closed - what happened? Also there was a Thai place across the main street which did French Fries, frequented by farangs, but this also appeared closed.
I did find 2 Tesco's (Kut Chum and Lueng Nok Tha) plus a KFC in the new Big C complex in Yasothon.
Ah well, last week was good for my diet!
Finally, just to say that, as we stayed in the village (Kham Toei) it is such a pleasure to see all the children playing outside and really enjoying themselves.

Often at supermarkets they have goods on special offer and on the shelf it says the maximum number that can be purchased at any one time. The notices on the shelves are invariably in Thai. Also there are limits when there are supply problems for stuff such as cooking oil and sugar, two bottles of the former and two bags of the latter. I assume you were buying beer on a special promotion and, thus, the limit.
No, none of the beers were on special offer. In fact I was buying 3 different ones, 4 Red Horse, 4 Singha Lite and 1 San Miquel Lite.

As usual hardly anyone actually replied to your topic. Hse didn't ask about cash or cards.
Yes easy to use (5 seconds) in at least Lotus and Sizzlers.
Far better than a QR code. Used in Thailand for over a year. More touristy places using it. Also used in Japan.
Is a Bangkok bank credit card.
Try it.
