To increase tourist confidence, they think about issuing face masks at immigration, which report usage status over bluetooth and a mobile phone app to the CCSA. “Masks do not only protect against Covid, but also against breath odor”. With this new confidence building measure it is estimated to attract at least 100 million tourists.

CCSA to consider changing Thailand Pass requirement next week
Stefanix replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thank you for this non-news! -
Why does she explain the CURRENT steps to apply for the TP as they will change shortly? Furthermore, the headline is quite misleading. Its only explained that TP will remain after the easing begin of May. We knew this already. Nothing is said about details of further easing. Actually there is no news in this article, just fearmongering.

Failed attempt at trying to get a non o in BKK

I wonder how this agent stuff works. Most probably a part of that fee goes to the bank's clerk. Could this be the reason they prefer to reject applications coming the normal way and force applicants using an agent? I mean we are complaining about corruption while using this system ourselves! -
No More Prior RT-PCR Tests Required for Visitors
Stefanix replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Although it does not make much sense to drop the test before departure and do the same on arrival, it is an easing. Timing of the pre-flight test can be difficult and stressful. Even better would be if one could chose to present a pre-flight test OR do one after arrival. But given the vaccination rates and mild Omikron infections, its time to scrap all restrictions, with the exception of a mandatory valid vaccination! -
No More Prior RT-PCR Tests Required for Visitors

Right, that’s because there aren’t as many flights as have been before. -

How can one „cap“ the death rate? Is there a law which forbids to die as soon as the quota is reached? -
Would you still want to visit Thailand with these new entry rules?
Stefanix replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I understand that virus spreader should not walk around; this should be prevented. The biggest problem I see is the unclear treatment of asymptomatic cases, or those with mild symptoms. This grey area is a high risk to be forced to isolate in a hospital. A clear definition which cases will be send to a hospital and a cap of the hotel rate for isolation at the standard rate could solve this problem. Anyway, I am currently in Thailand in spite of all those regulations. The preparation was quite stressful because I had to postpone two times because of positive PCR tests from a very mild fading Covid infection. I can understand that the average tourist does not want to take this risk. More improvements / clear regulations are needed to attract more tourists! -
Thailand pass not get after 8 days
Stefanix replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I understand the hotel’s cooperation ist needed in this process. You have to select the hotel from a list when applying the TP. They have to confirm the booking. Asking the hotel if this has been done might be a good idea. -
Can you provide a link to proven cases of faked positive PCR tests? This seems to be just the usual BS rumors of this forum. What comes close to a scam is how infected people without symptoms have been treated. But this has obviously improved, allowing hotel isolation. PCR tests are quite sensitive and it can be to have a negative result at home and a positive one after arrival, especially at the begin of an infection.

Those travelling abroad are probably well enough informed, no need to travel to get the news. So I don’t feel very sorry for them. They might be against this war but they lived in quiet acceptance with this regime and thus made the situation today possible. Sure, not everyone can be a hero. But in the end it was “nobody’s fault”, just Putin’s and some of his minions. This can’t be! Every Russian who hasn’t at least tried some form of protest, resistance or civil disobedience has to be hold accountable!

Fixed broadband speeds in Thailand among the fastest in the world

How long can we enjoy good Internet speed? Wasn't there a plan to setup a new central Internet gateway, to allow the control of all Internet traffic and protect the Thai people from porn and other forbidden topics? -
Another Thailand Pass "HACK"

At least they seem only to be able to collect the email addresses. Even though the damage is small, its quite embarrassing that the leak has not been found and fixed yet. -

This thread has received criticism as well. What I found especially bad with your thread was the headline "Public Service Announcement - Thai Pass"! This looks like an official information, which it was not. I don't know how often this thread has been clicked in vain. Looks like some kind of click-bait. Should be removed completely. -
I asked my current hotel (1st T&G night) how to handle the ATK result. They told me no need to use Mor Chana. "Just send us the result and we will put it into the system." They were quite serious about this, but did not explain any reason, like ATK result reporting. It should be then an official requirement to have a reservation for day 5, have a field in the form to give contact info, or don't ask at all. There was quite some confusion in my queue at immigration.

New rules for T & G? I just (12 March) arrived with Test & Go and the immigration processing was quite unpleasant. An immigration officer was walking along the queues pre-checking the docs. He asked for reservations beyond T&G day 1. Most did not have any or just a few days. Then he suggested that one could stay in the same hotel as day 1 and tell this the immigration officer at the counter. The same question was asked at the counter. My statement was then accepted that I would stay in the same hotel. If this is really a new requirement and it would be enforced, they would have to send 50% of the arrivals back. Much different than T&G v1, processing much slower. Anyone any similar or different experiences? Is it really needed to present reservations for your whole stay?
