  1. I daubt that they just give you a Visa debit card when you open an account-still get a good laugh when I think about it.The first year here they hardly noticed me every month when we went to the bank-after a year or so we bought a house-suddently they came home to us when we wanted to talk to them-and first then-whitout asking, they one day gave me a card when they visit us.

I did the mistake about having my Danish bank and the bank here for some time-until I saw how exspensive it was-pay in Denmark and here when taking money out from the ATM-bad idea.

  2. If anyone has friends/family visiting Chiang Rai perhaps you could recommend Natnalin hotel.
It is a new, modern and comfortable hotel about 5mins drive from CR main town. The airport and super-highway are very accessible and the very popular Chivitthammada is quite close, an easy ride on our complimentary bicycles.

The hotel is located down a small soi off the main road so is very quiet and a peaceful night's sleep guaranteed. More info on the hotel in the link in the comments below or you can message me with any questions or a very reasonable quote.

  4. at my last check at the goverment hospital a doctor told my wife that we could make a insurrance covering everuthing there for 2.600THB a year-not which is offered everyone he said, but maybe aits worth asking for next time you go there.

  5. Yesterday I went to a check for my brain stroke earlier and it took 3 hours all in all...terrible,but we know thats how it is-in the other hand a doctor called my wife after she pay the bill from earlier and told her that we could get a insurrance covering everything for 2.600 a year-so we sure did make that.I asked into it to provide info here late but it is not so that evry one can get it they say-wife said it is as we have used the hospital much and always paid our bills that we where offered this-but maybe worth asking about it next time you are there..

  7. You probably felt a loss of face because the first hospital wouldn't keep dishing out drugs to you and said you were relying on them too much.

Sorry to disapoint you...if you read what I wrote then it was something my doctor said would be ok. and since you dont know anything about me I dont think you schould judge me either as I dont drink and I do not take drugs more then I need to.

I have just been through more then one surgery back home over 4 month + I had/have that gall stone to fight whit so I would say its not just for fun I needed pain killer.

Anyway thanks for reply...have a good day and keep up the good work as the good guardian of morale to other people.

  8. I went to my doctor at Overbrook who have been ok. for a very long time and speak also good english but this time he mannaged to piss me off and later a younger doctor at the emergency room.

First i was told nearly a month to buy a lot of different medicine..I was sure it was my gallstone which gave me a lot of pain - and so was my doctor he said. After nearly a month whit no recovery...only exspensive medicine he told me I needed a surgery which wiould cost 60 - 70.000THB.

After my journey to denmark and so money was a bit low and no insurrance to cover it so we agreed that I would go to the hospital and get an injection pain killer when needed for this month but one day I needed to go there at 0.5 in the morning and again in the evening I was told by a young doctor...you are drug addicted!!!

WHAT I said...have never been and will never be but he continued and told me not to come back.

I went to the thai hospital and told the doctor there about this - he just shaked his head, took Xrays and ultra sound pictures and said to me..stay here 3 - 4 days and you will not need a surgery.

He then ordered - no food only salt water and antibiotics in drop. After 4 days he told me to go home when the pain was gone..gave me some medicine and I have not had one day whit any pain since.

Going for a check in 2 days.

I have to say: and this is not the first time they help me at the thai public hospital where Overbrook only have give me exspensive medicine and a small talk - nothing else!

I need to say - I know it is stupid not to have a insurrance and I am going to fix that as soon as possipple - just to cut off the arguing about that question.

I can not think I am the only one whit such an exsperience?

Once again, sorry for my bad english but hope you get it.

  9.
