Clan Tag #9UJRP92P "Expats Asia"
We are a friendly, easy going but also very active group of expats living in Asia and the Middle East.
We have a very good war record (this is relatively new clan with now ca. 35 members including several TH10 with top level troops) but we have all been waring about twice a week for months and won 90% of our wars).
We are looking for more members, particularly other English speaking expats.

Chiang Mai Creative City Working Group is organising a logo and website competition for the Chiang Mai Creative City Initiative
Chiang Mai Creative City is an initiative to put in place the foundations, people, connections, marketing and infrastructure to develop Chiang Mai as a world-class centre of creativity and innovation. The initial focus in on the IT sector, as both an key industry in itself and an enabler of creativity in other sectors.
The initiative is a collaboration between tertiary education institutes and the private sector and is in line with the Thai Government’s vision to develop the creative economy within the country. It traces its roots to a conference organized and hosted by the U.S. Consulate Chiang Mai in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok in February 2010, and a follow-up event in June 2010.
The purpose of this website is to announce a competition to design a logo and website theme for the Chiang Mai Creative City initiative. The competition is open to students and citizens, and prizes will be awarded for the winning entries.

Toy's R Us is not in Siam Paragon, but in Central World. At Siam Paragon, in the Department Store, I believe on the 4th Floor they DO sell Playmobil. Will check on Tuesday.

I am considering installing a solar energy system to produce hot/warm water. Total cost incl installation is 70,000 Baht. According to the information I received, payback is in about 8-10 years, with a saving of 8000 Baht per month (2MHh per year saved).
Payback period still seems long, not sure about maintenance and repair costs.
Would welcome views/suggestions.

I talked to different companies and there seem to be three options (Broadly)
1) Overflow
2) Skimmer System WITHOUT a room for pumps etc (JD - www.jdpools.com) - in this case a smaller room/box is directly next to the pool
3) Skimmer system with a room for pumps, filter etc (maybe smaller than full overflow system)
We do not mind the look and feel of the skimmer system (water level below edge of pool).
Any views would be much appreciated. Particularly on JD Pools system.

We are building a very nice house on Pattanakarn Road in Muang Thong 2/2. It is in a beautiful cul-de-sac and very quiet. We are using good materials, finishing, tiles, windows etc. It has 4 bedrooms etc.
But because we relocated to the UK for a few year we decided that we will let the property. However, we are not sure whether most other foreigners would prefer

- unfurnished
- or hybrid?
We are happy to do whatever increases the rental value and is in trend with (majority) demand.

Our driver, Khun Ek, is *extremely* reliable and trustworthy. We pay him 12,000 Baht including OT (including 3 times over weekends). “As we discussed with the Immigration airport officer, they told that you can contact them at Suvarnbhumi airport , Fl.2 , Arrivals Middle Zone to fill form and register. The first step will takes a longer time with new system and there were a lot of problems uploading your information.
After you complete the form ,the Immigration airport office will register you on their computer and take your photo and register your fingerprints. If you are taking a flight that day, you need to go early as you need to allow at least 30 minutes for the registration process. Kindly noted that Auto channel , they no need for stamps in your passport or residence book.
Therefore, it is easy and fast to travel but we have not guarantee that it will be effect with other immigration where you travel or some government places in Thailand such as Thai Bank, Police station will require records of arrival and departure stamps in your passport and residence book when you contact them.
However, we have not recommended to do this because of you will have no record of arrival and departure stamps in your passport and residence book. It will be complicated and takes time when the immigration officer at Chaeng wattana to recheck the stamps on Endorsement and re-entry submission date. It might be have problem incurred in the future. However, you can use for some time as urgently but keep some arrival-departure stamp in passport.”
