  2. will be travelling to Railay in a few weeks but was thinking of spending a night in Ao Nang/Krabi for one night beforehand.

just wanted some info on which place would suit me best for one night of fun? as the rest of my trip will be spent on secluded islands with no bar scene,i hear Krabi/Ao Nang has a small bar scene, which one is the best in BM's opinions? and does anyone have any hotel recommendations that are guest friendly? willing to spend 1000-1500 baht for the one night before heading to railay the next morning.

    any help much appreciated,thanks :)

  3. am thinking about sending a small parcel home back to the uk whilst in bangkok, whats the best postal service to use to guarantee its safe delivery to the uk.

standard thai post office? how comonare these because of all my times in LOS i cant recall seeing any...how long would my parcel take to arrive,or will that all depend on the service i choose ie tracking, signed for mail etc? how much is the postal charges?my parcel will be not much bigger than A5 size and will not way more than 500grams... or would i be better using a courier service? UPS,TNT,DHL?

any help, advice or links would be most appreciated?

ps i have already tried googling thai postal service but for some reason the page will not load for me

    Thanks :)

  4. You asked the same questions before Christmas. Did you go anywhere or are you just a dreamer - you've had the answers, did you go to Koh Kradan?

Wally is a great bloke, known him for 8 years, has basic thatched bungalows, food's not bad if you like Hawaiian/US T bone steaks but no good Thai food. Beach, snorkelling and sea are the same all over Thailand except less crowded on KK.

dreamer my arse! :) im no veteran but this will be my 6th trip.

if you read my original thread i said i would be visiting in april, and besides i got very little info with regards to accomodation on koh kradan.

"beach, snorkelling and sea are the same all over thailand" - i dont think ive ever heard a less true statement in all my life :D

    thanks anyway.

  5. will be here in april and was just wondering which accommodtion had hot water showers? and how muchare these accomodations?

ive been told its best toi stay in tonssai nesxt to railay and then walk to west railay or or phra nanag for the nice beach.

any help appreciated thankyou very much

  6. While it's easy to say she tossed her life away, know that it's not uncommon for gangs / mafia, especially Asian and African, to force these young girls to do this. I have no idea her case, but I've read about many cases where they threaten to kill their famlies and so on. Very sad stuff.

The sad part is, every government knows about this, and the prisons around the world are full of poor women (and stupid ones) who have been caught doing this.

The fact that "cops were tipped off" tells me they used her to take the fall so that many others carrying drugs would pass without fail. That is the typical decoy system used, and the cops are too freakin stupid to ever catch on. They probably let millions of dollars worth just slip through as while they were looking for this desperate Filipina, who will now spend the rest of her life in prison, while the African gang she did this for will continue to gather off Soi 3 and sell their drugs without problems, and usually on overstay and here illegally.

ive edited some of your post.

    but on the whole QFT.

there are thousands of these women in south american jails also, many desperate poor women :D many with a baby to bring up whilst in prison :)

  7. what would be the scenario if one of "us" was going through the scanner while being "excited" about his trip to thailand?

probably would depend on the amount of "wmd" he had?

im always "excited" about my trip to thailand :)

anybody else have any news on the airport scanner things as i cant find any definitive answers anywhere else?

  8. The one at Swampy reported to be a total bust, could not pick a a 2.5inch square of metal in test. Story in BPP website today. They will not be used but will consider demos by other scanner companies.

so i take it that the answer is NO they do not currently have full body scanners in use at swampy right now?

where/what is this BPP website please?

    THANKS EVERYONE. :)

Its The Bangkok Post web site which we can not quote or post links to by Thai Visa rules.

    many thanks :D

  10. having read that they were testing full body scanners for 1 month at swampy i would just like to know if they decided to keep them in place full-time? extend there trial? or get rid of them all together?

also have they got them in place at heathrow yet? i know some months ago the British government said they would be in use at all termninals within weeks, but what they say and what they do are 2 different things :) we know it all comes down to the pennies at the end of the day.

also i know they said you get scanned boarding the flight (outbound) but do you also get scanned incoming (when you land) and head back through customs out of the airport terminal? this question applies to both BKK and LHR.

    Any help appreciated.thanks

btw just for the record, i dont plan to carry any bombs/guns/explosives etc :D

  11. who did you book with?

and what dates did you book?

because as an example i looked on ebookers using outgoing date as saturday 22nd may and returning date saturday 12th june and found direct non stop flights LHR - BKK with THAI or EVA for 527 and 542 gbp respectively which works out at between around 26/27k baht

I am talking about a BKK to LON return purchased in Baht. Tickets purchased in the UK are much cheaper as you can see from discussions in numerous threads. (My dates were 24 May and 6 June)

sorry i should have realised as you were talking about baht and not pound.
