Go to Mr DIY. You will get an adjustable walking stick for under 200 Baht. I presume they still stock them. Had mine for a few years now. Brilliant.

Udon Thani. I have my eyes checked every three months by the Government Hospital Doctor who has in addition a private practice which I attend. Eighteen months ago he carried out, at his clinic, a cataract operation on my right eye . Cost 25,000 baht. He has been looking after my eyes for a number of years, controlling glaucoma and ensuring consistently good eye pressure and 20/20 distance viewing. I am 84 by the way. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this further.

Just had a search and it looks like TM87 is applicable?
-
Thanks to all, I think I have got it thought slightly confused as to what Tm86 and TM87 are? However it appears the best advice to give him is to go to immigration and apply for a non O based on retirement. I must assume funds or income are OK has he has already had an extension. Will talk to him.

Advice please Ubon Joe (et al) on behalf of a fellow Scot, who resides here in Udon Thani, married to a Thai national.
He entered Thailand two years ago on an ‘O’ visa based on retirement.
Successfully obtained an annual extension this last June.
Since then visited Scotland and returned to Thailand using a single re-entry permit. No problem.
However just recently, without due thought, went to Vietnam for two days, no re-entry permit, and on the return was given a 45 day entry stamp.
What does he do now, what is the procedure for him to resurrect permission to stay on a retirement basis?
(I believe he has been quoted circa 30,000 baht by a local agent to sort this out).
Many thanks.

I was under the impression that the 800K had to be in my sole name name. I keep it in an SCB savings account. Can I add my wife's name as signatory? Confused.

Tonray. He had completed quarantine but as that was not pertinent to my question was not included as superfluous information but thank you for your response.
Ubonjoe, Thank you yet again. The Dutch Embassy do provide income affidavits, his main concern is that initially, many years ago, when first arriving he had to leave Thailand every 90 days during that first year of his Non o and then apply for an annual extension. This is of course is impracticable. Things change of course and he really needs reassurance that an extension application in November will be accepted.

Visa extension query
Synopsis (Dutch National)
Annual Non O visa extension expired whilst he was pandemically stranded in Holland.
New Non O issued at the Hague, returned on a repatriation flight 13th September and given 90 days entry on arrival.
Visited immigration as a precaution before 26th September end of amnesty period, belt and braces, and was advised to return at the end of the 90 day period.
Question
May he then apply for an annual extension to his new non O, based on marriage with an embassy letter as was his norm prior pandemic?

Following on from my previous query re my expat Dutch friend stuck in Holland waiting to return home here to his wife. He has asked me, being in situ, the following:-
""I checked the CAAT regulations and it appears they have not cancelled this mandatory 100.000 USD health insurance and proof that you are corona virus free. I am absolutely certain that the newspapers reported that the Thai authorities abolished this requirement but it seems that nobody told CAAT yet.. What do you think? Obviously I cannot obtain such a health insurance and I doubt whether the average tourist can. Same applies to this corona test certificate. Here in Holland nobody can do such a test, unless you are already infected. Bit silly really, because by that time you are already in hospital and unable to travel"".
Can anyone help with the latest on this or provide a link?
Many thanks.

Thank you UbonJoe, I will relay that. Tuan Lindsay

Many thanks for all responses and to Thailand Ryan. I will pass the "Travel advice etc..." on to my colleague in Holland.
It seems pretty clear, as he thought, a no,no. Just worth checking.

I wonder if anyone can throw any light on this:-
Could an expat retiree here , presently visiting home country, in this case a Dutch national (married, spouse, house here), with a re-entry stamp, return assuming flight availability, with a health certificate and travel insurance, i.e. not the specified $100,000 insurance.?
Grateful for any thoughts/knowledge..

It's the solution that I'm after, but reading other threads there doesn't seem to be one until the program is altered at source, which I would hope would be very soon. Please web designer take note.

I keep getting this message (attached) every time I click on a news item or comment on this forum. I have tried two different email addresses and hit subscribe but only a new blank window opens. Then I click on another topic and up pops the message again. Help please. It has become extremely irritating.

A Quick Response to that LINE/Facebook address?
But how does it work? Do you scan it with your mobile? Apologies for my ignorance, I put it down to my advanced age!
