Well for the previous 6 times ive done it, I had to show the usual marriage documents and the 40k per month income and embassy letter. THIS time wasn't the case they simply said we don't accept that anymore. Here is the list and he underlines the "new" rule for me. I still had to use the U.S. Embassy income letter.

Please state what Immigration Office this was at. There's lots of them and my crystal ball is buggered.

Well it was like that for me and another guy i was talking to at immigration. He had used the 40k per month option and they told him and showed him the same checklist they showed me.

I too had to show 400k AND a certified bank letter. They even have a list in Thai and English, saying 400k in a Thai bank account for at least 2 months the first time and 3 months from then on. The guy told me and later on a woman told me, that the 40K per month in a bank account is an old rule and the 400K in the bank account is enforced now. 1 year NON-O extension based on THAI WIFE in my case. I usually go to the same guy that's been doing my visa's for years(luckily he is working at the Lad Prao location) and he told me that he was told to not approve anyone without 400k in a bank account PLUS a certified letter from their bank. This was at the Imperial World Lad Prao temporary immigration location.

Went there earlier today (MRT + taxi), and other than a long queue for ticket machine at Bang sue (30 minutes) it was a quick ride. Taking the car to Chaengwattana about the same overall. Not many people in line at immigration too. The immigration office is on the 5th floor. Getting back home was even quicker with no MRT queues.

Is it easy to get to the lad prao immigration location? MRT to Lad Prao station, but then what? That whole area is blocked off from the protesters right? I'm not sure i can get a taxi. Anyone here know that area and the current situation?

Besides Toys "R" Us and Zen Central World, are there any small kiosks or other stores that sell American Toy imports or British or European? I'm looking for certain Angry Birds toys such as "Star Wars Angry Birds Jenga" and other Angry Birds sets. Name ANY imported toys stores you can think of. I would really appreciate it! TIA.

I ask the president of YUM! brands Thailand every year at the USA food fair at Central World, if they are going to open Taco Bells here. He always has the same answer. "There are no plans to open Taco Bell's in Thailand.". This year, he at least remembered me and laughed a bit. I think ive been asking him for the past 4 years now.

I always go to the AMCHAM one. Reasonable entrance fee and free for the kids, but holy crap the one in Chiang Mai is 1000 baht for adults and 600 baht for kids?!??! That's ridiculous! I don't care what it includes. The entrance fee for the AMCHAM one doesn't include drinks but it would still be nowhere near 1000 baht. Is there no other option there?

Am I suppose to remember what month/day I lived in a certain state when I was 5 and when we moved when I was 7? I cant remember that! I'm surprised it doesn't ask what time! Please help if you know.
