  1. Well, glycemic index and specific food items and type of carbs etc etc have little relevance here. Its the overall caloric intake that is of interest. In the long run a varied diet is more important than staying away from "fast" or high glycemic carbs, usually they are poor in nutrition, this should be the reason to limit them, nothing else.

If Bob eats a big piece of white bread 2 o clock on wednesday and has the mother of insulin spikes this is not something that's going to dictate how much body fat is going to be stored that day.

I don't mean to hi-jet this thread as we are all talking about Whey protien, OP please don't mind.

My question is can I take Whey protien during my workout days ONLY before and after my workout ? (workout 3 times a week)

What will happen (any effect to muscle) if i stop taking Whey protien after i started for 1-3 months ?

    Please help to answer.

    Thks

Whey protein is protein, and should count towards your total protein intake, which is something worth keeping tabs on. You can have whey as a part of meals or in between if u feel like it. The only thing I would advice is to get the majority of your protein intake from food that you chew, if nothing else for the sake of saturation. Theres nothing magic about whey, its derived from milk. There are alot of sources of protein to choose from.

  2. are you worried about the tax increase coming soon? there was a news story about it a couple of days ago. i wonder what will happen to bar prices? go up i assume, will we see the end of 50 baht happy hour or will the bars just eat it?

No, I have a friend visiting and I know there is going to be a lot of drinking, might as well stock up hehe.

  3. As the topic says? Im looking to stock up on a few cases of beer and perhaps a few bottles of spirits. Was at Makro yesterday and wasnt that impressed by the prices, maybe Supercheap is a better bet? Of course it depends on what brands but Chang classic would be fine, i would appreciate some tips anyway.

  4. So maybe the smartest thing would be to rent a room and invest in a good padlock and have some one drop by every ones in a while. But seems risky, especially if you have valuable stuff.

  5. I need some storage for a bunch of furniture and one or two boxes in a couple of months. I have looked at the threads on TV and the places mentioned have been to expensive. One place in Patong was like 4000 baht per month or more for a descent sized storage, i could rent two empty rooms for that price but maybe minus the security aspect. I emailed another place called Safeway and they quotet 800 baht for 1.30 x 2.40 x 2.20 m but that seems a bit small. And Big move dont have any prices on their site. I rented from the before but only a tiny space for one box and that was 800 witch is steep in my opinion. Oh well, anybody know a good place in Phuket?

  6. How long do you need it for, just out of interest ?

If I find a nice place for the right price my plan is to stay indefinitely.

Try the link its a friend of mine, speaks perfect english as well. Good luck!

How much money would I loose if I rented a place though an agent like your friend though?

Go down the end of soi 15 off Sathorn beside St Louise Hospital. At the dead end take a right then a sharp left down a little alley way onto the next soi. There are many around there and 5 minutes to the BTS but I would not recommend "Sathorn Saint View"

But those are all serviced apartments I assume? I would prefer non furnished since I have my own stuff including microwave and tv and what not.

I guess the best thing for me would be to rent a condo through the individual owner no?

  7. Im planning a move up to Bangkok sometime in the near future and I would prefer to stay in the Silom/Sathorn area. I know this is generally an expensive area so my question is basically if it would even be possible to find a small studio apartment for a maximum of 15000 baht per month? Just a 25+ sqm area or something along those lines with a pentry for cooking is what im looking for.

  8. It's probably the 3BB monitoring program kicking in. I have an article on throttling in last week's Phuket Gazette.

If you haven't yet written to me and started running the MIT Glasnost test routines, drop me a line (address is at the end of the Gazette article). I'm trying to come up with a definitive list of which ISPs throttle torrents, and the Glasnost test will tell you definitively when and how and how much.

According to the test there was only throttling on one port if I understood it right. I was looking at some forums while the test was being done so that might have made it inaccurate I dont know. Will try again and keep my hands of the computer.

  9. i think there is some daily/weekly limit for the full speed, dont know for sure though. Most of the time I get the full speed (1MB/s) for the first couple of gigabytes for the day. after that the speed is steady 175KB/s for a while...

    i got 3BB 9mbit too

Its exactly the same for me I have realized now. This is pretty shitty to say the least, and I guess theres is no use in calling and complaining.

  10. 3bb servers are based in Nonthaburi and I'm sure the floods are affecting speeds due to heavy use by bangkokians for info.

Ah ok, I hope thats the case.

It doesn't sound like your issue is with 3BB specifically. The number of seeders doesn't necessarily matter when downloading torrents, its the number of seeders vs leechers vs availability vs etc etc

This link may make it easier to understand although it is still pretty basic....

I read through the link, it was very understandable. But still, there are 240 torrents on my list with various seed/peer ratio.

This is the first isp I've had that hasnt performed really well with torrents.

But im going to stop complaining now and just wait for it to get better. When reading on forums it seems people are having massive problems with isp's in Thailand. : )

Thank you both for your help.

Ok, but I have been downloading torrents for 10 years and whenever I have been downloading torrents with many many seeders my bandwidth has been nearly maxed out. I dont really know anything about torrents except you are downloading the file(s) from multiple sources yes? So the more the better to make it very simple?

  12. I have seen a few threads like this but I just want to have some feedback from other 3bb 9/1 users in Phuket. Have had this service for a couple of days and my speed seldom exceeds 250 kb/s except for last night a couple of hours when it was 800+ (like it should be). Im downloading from many thousands of seeders so it is something with the connection not the torrents themselfs. Surfing the web is no problem, quite fast which shouldnt be a suprise with 9/1 but this is still Thailand.

  13. I dont know if its me but I get really annoyed by the fact that the people talking on these books do it far to quickly and they dont articulate at all, something that would make it so much easier to learn. Is there some idea behind this perhaps so that the listener will get used to real conversation? Maybe its just the fact that I am kind of slow but when a couple of unfamiliar words are fired off in rapid succesion I find it impossible to keep up. How do people learn from this effectively, do you listen over and over and over again to each sentence? I am a complete beginner maybe thats the problem.

  14. In the evenings (except Mondays), there is a stand with such t-shirts on Silom Road very near Soi 4 - can't remember if it's just before or after the soi, but certainly within 100 m. I always notice it - they have a Clockwork Orange motif that always gives me the willies...

Hope you find what you're looking for.

    Thank you!

  15. 6 months ago or something I was in Suan Lum night bazaar and I found a shop which sold really cool t-shirts with movie motifs, like The Godfather and Scarface and a bunch of stuff. For some reason I didnt buy any and when I went back the market was closed and now its gone completely. Does anybody know another market or place where I can buy t-shirts like this?

    Thx
