  1. You mean my 1 year non-'O' Single entry is only 90 days? So after 90 days I have to get out of Thailand, am I right?

Where do you get the "1 year" from? Look at your visa and check what it says.

    -- No. of entry ???

    -- Date of issue ???

    -- Enter before ???

Regardless of the number of entries and the period for which your visa is valid, on each entry you will get permission to stay for 90 days. See this on the website of the immigration bureau: What does the visa expiration date mean?

    On my visa shows:

    -- No. of entry : S

    -- Date of issue: 20 Oct 2011

    -- Enter before: 10 Jan 2012

I got it from Malaysia. Do I able to extend in BKK after 90 days? A friend told me I have to report to Bkk immigration office after 90 days for extension , is that true?

If you qualify for an extension for marriage or retirement, etc, apply for the extension. If not, exit the country and apply for a new visa.

Thank you so much. I understand now.

  3. Not clear ???

Clearly states > After 30 days [the 30 days is the extension from Immigration then he will do a] border run --> 2nd entry 60 days

Yes that is fine giving you almost 6 months in Thailand, know many people that do this...

The only problem is staying longer, from what I can gather Cambodia is about the only place in Asia that will issue another double entry Visa after an Extension no problems.... This is only what I have been told by people on this type of Visa.. Myself on a multi '0' so sit in a van to the Boarder every 90 days

    Thanks ignis, that's what I meant :)

  4. I am sure it will be acceptable. If it is an air ticket out of Thailand they want to see, any ticket showing that you will depart from Thailand within 60 days from your arrival will be acceptable. If the consulate tells you that for a stay of less than 30 days you don't need a tourist visa you can tell them that depending on circumstances you may have to stay longer and you need to keep this option open.

    mm...Thank you :)

  5. Hi, I like to know is it a must to purchase an air ticket from Singapore to Bkk with the return trip within 60 days for a tourist visa? Most of the time I purchased a return ticket that was within 60 days but this time I'm planning to buy an air ticket that is less than 30 days returning to Singapore, and if I need to stay in Thailand for 60 days then I'll change my air ticket. Will the embassy in Singapore allow me to do that or my air ticket have to be not more than 60 days and not less than 30 days on returning? Does anyone know?

  6. If I'm not wrong, you are referring to the lady that wears glasses. She's always scans tourist's visa application while they in the queue. I had applied my visa there many times and what I saw was, she always talking rudely to people that apply visa.

I can't remember; she certainly doesn't give a good first impression. If I had been a first-time tourist I'd likely have chosen another country to visit.

My Thai partner came along with the intention of being able to assist with any questions they may have had, and she had some questions too. Sometimes things can get 'lost' in translation. She was disappointed to find they had no Thai-speaking staff member available

That is strange. That lady that I told you earlier can speak Thai. I saw her communicated with a tourist using Thai. Anyway she never gives me much of trouble maybe I look like a Thai but I do have my bad experience with them for the first time applying visa there. One of the counter lady that look like a Chinese, shouted at me for not showing my air ticket to her. Well, I have no choice so have to apply there. My advised, next time apply in Malaysia K L. I heard is better :)

  7. Hi - like to hear back from you on the Singapore experience.

I was stunned at how rude one of the two women was - shrieking 'no visa no visa' when she scanned my TV application while I was waiting in the queue. I didn't have an air ticket out of Thailand. I did have a Thai bank acc updated the previous day with a substantial balance which was quite acceptable to the woman who took my application.

My partner came along and was embarrassed/horrified at the 'show' of public impoliteness.

    Neither woman spoke Thai.

    Dreadful advert for tourism.

I'll never darken their door again.

Lodge your application before 11.30am, available for collection after 1 (or could be 2) the following day.

  8. I could be wrong but nothing from that statement sounds remotely true.

    1. it IS possible to get a non-imm-o if you have a Thai spouse, but not for a Thai boyfriend/girlfriend

    2. once you have a non-imm-o, you don't need to do border runs. you just need to report your address to the nearest immigration office every 90 days.

    3. non-immigrant-o visas are initially for 90 days (from the last time you entered Thailand) with up to a year extension. then you need to reapply every 12 months.

    chok dee na ja

Ok thank you so much :)

  9. I saw from this thread http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Long-Stay-To...sa-t364261.html a poster name beano2274 said:" Craig, you can get a Non Immigrant O visa for visiting friends from Hull, you will need a letter from your GF inviting you and a copy of her ID Card, check the Hull Consulate site for more details. Gives you 15 months here, you have to do a border run every 90 days."

    My question:

Is it true that I just need a letter from my girlfriend inviting me and a copy of her ID Card?

Is this non immigrant O visa only allow UK citizen to apply? Can a Singaporean like me apply too?

  10. Hi, i'm from Singapore. Is it true if i do border run between Cambodia and Thailand for the 15 days more than 1 time will lead me to a black mark in Thai immigration and infuture i'm unable or have problem to apply a 60 days visa back to thailand again?

Is there anyone here ever do border run more than 1 time and when go back to their own country still able to apply a 60 days visa back to Thailand?

  11. Ok thanks everyone here again. I know what to do now. :) I just need to extend till Feb than i'll go back with my thai girlfriend to Singapore and married there. After married in Singapore we will come back to BKK in March hope i can apply for 1 year visa till than. I heard is not easy to have a 1 year visa or PR in Thailand. Have to spend a lot of money than able to get one. Is it true?
