I am getting ready to apply for our daughters UK passport, can anyone please tell me what documents I need from her Thai mother that will also need to be translated.
We have the Thai marriage certificate, Childs Birth cert (Thai) , blue house book / ID card. Is the mothers birth certificate necessary? What else will I need?

Hi
I booked an appointment with them last month, sent an email and got a response in 24 hours. It seems everything you've done is correct but as it's now a long weekend holiday maybe wait til Monday and resend your email.

Update; passport agency sent me an email saying my payment had been rejected. They gave me a phone number to call with a reference code. Can only contact them on Tuesday and Thursday 09:30 to 15:30 . Anyways I called and asked for them to use my wife's same card. RESULT:Payment accepted. Happy again ????

I have just had a payment for my passport renewal rejected. I used my wife's credit card she assured me it was ok for international transactions. Apparently not. She's now authorized the bank to make the payment but so far nothing has been charged to her account. What can I do? Will the passport agency contact me? It's a worry.

Thanks. I'm going there next week and will report back . Can i just ask the OP was all the paperwork in order and have you applied at Savannakhet before?
-
Hi can anyone else confirm this. I was planning going there next week for the same reason. I live in ubon so Savanakhet has always been convenient. Dont fancy travelling to Penang . Cheers

There are a lot of empty houses in and around Ubon. They don't usually have any signs on. Most are bank reposessions. It may be worth a try to get your wife to ask in the banks, some have a catalogue of these houses for sale usually at much lower prices than you'd expect.

Hi, we are in search of some small office or shop to rent, preferably, around Ubon town centre ie; near to the park or the main hospital etc. We are currently running our business from an office at home which is ok for internet customers, but not so good for walk-in customers as our current location makes us difficult to find.
If you know of anywhere which is currently available or is likely to be in the very near future, i would be very grateful.
Cheers

Hi all,
I've posted this because I know someone's sure to be interested.
I saw a nice little house for rent yesterday in Ubon, directly behind ave maria school, so in a good central location 5 minutes walk from the park, off road parking for one car, if anyone's interested i will try to source more info.
Cheers

Nakonchai Air provide the best and safest service to Ubon, their buses run to and from the Morchit bus terminal in Bkk.
Average travel time is 8 hours, gold class is 552 baht and first class is 736 baht per person.

Hi guys, did you manage to find a removal truck in Ubon? I now find myself in a similar situation, I need to move a whole houseful of furniture about 10km and don't fancy breaking everything down and lumping it on the back of a pickup, only to have to put it all together again at the other end!! Would much rather pay a team of guys to the job.
I really need to sort this before the end of March so a swift response would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hi, I hope your stay in Ubon is a pleasant one, if you find yourself in need of transport we at Jay Jay can rent you a car or motorbike ( yes we have cars now also ) so if you speak to Andrew at Peppers or Ting at the Wrong way Cafe they'll give you the details, but in short a motorbike is available for 250bht a day and a car from 1300 bht per day, some discount is given for longer term rentals.
Hope to see you around the town

Wow, still the same place as in my 2001 Lonely Planet.
What's the "top bike" this rental company has? How much do they charge?
Thanks.
Well the "new faces on the block " are Jay-Jay motorcycle hire, they have good, clean and well maintained 125cc automatics. You can find them at 709, Sapphasit Road in Ubon
