  1. Thank you for every comments and advise. Maybe I try 60 day extension in Chaengwattana. I checked and I see need provide next documents?

    • Passport (original).
    • Photocopy of passport.
    • Photocopy of visa and arrival card (these will be in your passport).
    • House certificate / copy of lease agreement at the condo you stay in. (Take the original if you have it). If this is your condo lease agreement, it must have your signature and the owners signature on it. A piece of paper stating your address, the deposit you paid and the amount you pay each month is not enough. It must be a proper agreement.
    • Wife’s Tabien Baan (copy is fine) – this is the house document for the home she is officially registered as living in Thailand.
    • Wife's ID card (original to be shown, also have a copy with you).
    • Marriage Certificate (original and copy) – Make sure you take the original because I nearly came unstuck only having a copy last time.

My question: we renting in a condo but the lease agreement on my wife name. She renting the condo. In this lease agreemen will be acceptable? Need something more from landowner?

  2. I have one year multiply entry Non-O Visa because I have thai wife. Every 90 days have to make border run, last time went to Poipet as I did many times. But this time many people warning me on Thailand side I can't coming back same day, I have to spend one night in Cambodia. I was worried but I crossed the border and came back without problem.

I have to go soon again border so I would like to ask anyone has fresh experience with Poipet? I don't wanna stucked outside even one night.

Or have better option for border run from Bangkok?

  3. Thank you every answer. Seems like don't have solution for my wife problems, my lawyer and my accountant didn't have any idea too. Yes, I will tell her please talk to SSO office about informal worker or voluntary option.

I checked another options to like make health insurance in private company, but more expensive a give more less than SSO. For example mainly no outpatient payment.

  4. Hi,

I really hope someone has answer for my problem. I have a company and my wife is a major shareholder and managing director. I think this situation is regular.

But my problem: one very strange law not allows her for signup for thai social security (Social Security Office). But I want social security for her.

Does anybody know the answer, what can we do? Somewhere I read not only one social security system works in Thailand.

  5. 2. If you have a work permit and pay taxes you dont have to show 400,000 in the bank, but instead can show an income (with tax documents) of 40,000 baht a month if you ask for an extension based on marriage. (You can also apply with income from abroad, for which you need to show a letter from your embassy stating your income).

Another possibility is to ask for an extension of stay based on your work, in that case you will probably need to show 50,000 baht a month income with tax documents (required income depends on your nationality, formost western nationals it is 50,000 a month).

Yes, 50,000 baht the minimum salary for the work permit. Is this enough if I have just actual work contract in Thailand and can show get salary 2-3 month ago in Thailand? I will have a tax documents just after one year working and pay taxes.

  6. Hi,

I read many topics but I don't find exactly answers in may case. I have one year Non-O visa because I have thai wife. I would like to make one year extension when this visa will expire. I see two choice:

1st: 400.000 THB in a thai bank in may name. My Question: 2 or 3 month have to be in a bank? (My address is Bangkok). This is can be my simple saving account? When I apply to extension, what do they check in my bank book? Balance have to be upper 400.000 THB 3 months ago and now? Now problem if going down this period?

2nd option: I can make work permit (real working company, everything). If I have work permit don't need a 400.000 THB for 3 months? I think because work permit guarantee I have 50.000 THB income every month? And have something speciel requirement/regulations for work permit? Maybe need at least 2 month old or something?

    Thank you every answer!

  7. Thank you for this very useful topic :)

I wanna make non-o in KL and I don't understand one thing. Do I need translation from my marriage certificate? Why? The paper is Thai - the embassy is Thai - they understand very well.

I read on embassy homepage: "5. Original and copy of official marriage certificate" It mean for me: no translation.

For be sure I wanna make only legalization in MFA Thailand.

What does an expert think in this question?

  8. 3. Going to Amphur to get marry. I was told by the senior person who signs the marriage certificates, that lots of the Amphurs in Bangkok are very reluctant to marry foreigner and Thai as the complexity of checking documentations. Thus lots of the marriages are taking place in Bang Rak ( Translated: District of love). They are very helpful. The most important thing is to get your documents in order and complete set of necessary documents.

For Thai national: They need 2 copies of their ID card, and house log.

For the foreigner: a copy of their passport, entry visa( must be valid and not expired), affirmation letter in Thai and English( stamped by the Embassy)

You need 2 witnesses, however someone at the office can normally stand in if necessary.

Thank you for your very useful informations.

I have one more question and I hope somebody have answer this: Can I marry if I have one year non-imm visa but I already used for last entry date. Sorry, I try too explain: I can't enter again to Thailand with my one year visa but I can stay in Thailand more than2 months (border stamp in my passport.

  9. Thank you this very useful topic. I have same problem like OP. I got tonsillitis this year but no fever, just sore throat, pain in my throat and totally blocked nose. I went one very good Bangkok hospital and doctor gave me first time about 7 medicines, include 2 antibiotics. After finished seems like everything OK with my throat but only 1-2 week laters came back same symptoms (pain in throat and blocked nose). I went same doctor, I got same medicine. Suprise me, why not changed, maybe these not worked on me. After finished again and I got only 2-3 week in calm. I asked again same doctor - can remove my tonsills, but he totally disagree with me. Honestly 2-3 years ago when I hed problems with my tonsil asked Thai and European doctors in my home, and everybody told the same: the times is changed and today doctors don't like and don't offer tonsillectomy.

Now I am little bit in despair. If somebody can offer me conscientious and good doctor or specialist in Bangkok, please IM me.

  10. -

    Thank you every answers.

Little bit surprise me. I thought if I have Non-O 1 year visa I can stay in Thailand for 1 year.

If you have a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa you have as many entries as you want for a year. Each entry has a maximum of 90 days.

Make an entry just befor the Visa expires and you will get another 90 days making a total of 15 months.

Thanks. My last question (I hope :) ): After the 90 days can't go to immigration office and asking stamp for 90 days again? Like the do with tourist visa (1900 thb, maybe).

  11. I have similar question too. If I came to Thailand with Non-O Visa and I got stamp to my passport with 90 days. But I don't go anywhere after this 90 days, just reporting to Immigration Office. They give me new stamp +90 days to my passport or not?

Because if they don't give any stamp, look like I am overstaying.

Yes Overstay. You must exit the country every 90 days.

    Thank you every answers.

Little bit surprise me. I thought if I have Non-O 1 year visa I can stay in Thailand for 1 year.

  12. How does airport immigration know that you have or have not been to local immigration for reporting? Is there a stamp in the passport? What happens if say you are a week late and try to leave the country by air, would immigration be looking for 90 day reporting information or would they be just looking at the entry stamp?

  13. Google the journalists who penned the article, they seem pretty legit and objective.

    Eg.

Oliver Serbil photo journalism with Karen hillstribe

    SMH article on army snipers

Another interesting link I came across. Corroborates the OP link.

I am sorry but this is nothing. First link only one noname photoblog, 2nd link writer is Jack Picone, not one of these two guys. I don't give any credibility for this unmasked black story. If this is real I am pretty sure one big media already pick up this story. But no-one did it.

Sorry I wasn't clear; the 2nd link is meant to indicate there is at least one other journalist who witnessed M79 grenades and high velocity rifle fire directed at the army. This I felt corroborates the OP.

And I as I said, google them yourself, there is plenty there to get a feel on these 2 guys.

    Thank you for your answer.

I'm searching around net and twitter and found something what makes me doubt. But I think better say nothing because this topic looks like powder keg. :)

It's typical of the Red Shirt propaganda machine. When there's something negative written about the movement or their beloved leader, they

    1) Blame someone else

    2) Say it's fake

    Laughable really.

It's tyipical Yellow Shirt propaganda machine what you did...

I am nobody side of course.

Can you answer my question? Or it's too hard task?

    What was your question again?

So who cares if YOU don't give any credibility to the article. You say it's fake? Prove it.

I don't have to prove anything. Prove who wrote article. :)

Ok, again. Somebody give 2 links proof these 2 guys real journalists. I just told 2 link don't proof anything (one blog and 3rd guy article). Thats all.

My question: if 2 guys story was real why we don't hear anything from any big media (BBC, CNN, Times, Nation, Bangkok Post or any TV even thai army channels)? Every big story going around of course gave credit for original source. Only this is my very simple question. I read story Unmasked MiB. First I thought WOW, 2nd this secret tent little bit stink like cheap action B-movies, 3d let's look around the net, check the story! The original story came out few days ago but still big and deep silence everywhere.

And please don't preach me propaganda machine and beloved leaders. I don't care them. :D

  17. Wow did you see his website? What a nutcase!

Wow, my thai not so good but seems like this qoute is strange. From his website under one picture which shows new party office in Sanam Luang.

I believe he says his new party doesn't have much capital; it depends on the working people, but this is how the Nazi Party in Germany began and made Germany big and powerful.

Thank you for translating. That's it!

  18. Can anyone settle a bet between my GF and I ...

Can actual motorcycles (choopers) drive on the Toll Highways in Thailand?

She tells me they cannot but I am sure this rule just applies to the scooters.

Good question, I thought about it before. :)

I've never seen motorcycle on the Toll Highways in Thailand. I think doesn't matter you have Honda click 115 ccm or Honda Steed 400 ccm - same category in rules.
