  1. Hi i stayed at a place called the Ban thai resort when i was in CM a while back it was great with a pool and free breakie and free wi fi, its about 1 k from the town centre and has lots of local bars a short walk and a 7 /11 youll have to google it as i dont have the address anymore, nice big roomas well with balcony, i stayed 6 weeks and it 7,500 baht im sure if you was a long term resident youd get it cheaper as there are a few guys who stay there all the time. B)

  2. From what ive seen of Krav maga it looks like a mix of Judo an Jitsu, kind of a modern day rounded art as is MMA.

I would love to try theese arts to see what they could add to my skills, but alas im a bit old to learn new tricks.

I developed my art through visiting many dojos and practising Aiki against other style's like Katate, ju jitsu, Kung <deleted>, Thai boxing and so on it helps develop reflexes and prepares you for various attacks which is good, as in a real situation you never know whats really comming.

Off course the best thing to do if possible is run away :jap:

There's no superior art just superior martial artists.

  3. I've been pracitising Aikido since the early 90's as a transition from my ju jitsu and judo days, ive only had to use Aiki twice in real situations and i can only speak from experience but i have to say its served me very well.

of course anyone could come unstuck it all depends who gets the first one in and if its a good one  .

  4. We used to live quite close to those beeches near Sattahip, if you go back towards patters theres a few good ones.

Sunset Park i think its called, as a beech on a small resort very nice and not very well known [untill now] B).

Then theres Bang saray which was quite good as it was mainly occupied by Thais, but the last time i went there a couple of yrs ago there was a lot more farangs at the little beech bar/restaruant on the corner.

Everything seems to be moving that way quicktime.

  5. Its amazing how things have developed down thier i used to live about 18 ks from Bang Chaing,

when me and my mate used to go theres was only 1 strip of bars but they were very good and cheap

    But thats progress i suppose.

  6. I had a similar problem when i lived in thailand, our neighbours new boyfriend started to play his music very loud in the morning and well into the afternoon.

Fortunatley for me i had purchased a very good quality music system when we bought the house, and i also had a good selection of Jimi Hendrix and Led zep, to mention but a few.

Alas no competion and after a short while he got the message and turned the music down as he obviously couldnt hear it as my speakers were aimed at his house, problem solved.

  7. The best one ive found is the one on the way to siam country club next to kiss food n drink they will even give you a card with 2 free goes for 1,500 baht, free water and fruit, swiming pool hot pool and cold pool 150 per day great value.

The one on second road charges extra for farangs so i dont go there any more.

  8. Ive just got back to Pattaya, i was here last year and used the bar in Soi Chiapuk Jomtiem named Kanyas, the owner was a german guy named peter.

I was told today by the cleaner there that perter was stabbed by one of his residents who was taking large amounts of Yaba, this was about 7 months ago, he leaves a wife and daughter although i didnt really get on with the guy i was supprised and sorry to hear of another uneeded loss of life due to the use of hard drugs.

    Does anyone know what happened?.

  9. In my limited experience of Los [10 years], ive found most girls like this are in for the long haul, very experienced when they find a sucker, and very good at the waiting game, that should tell you all you need to know mate.

  10. Seriously we used to use tap water for washing and cooking. This was in Chonburi province.

The tap water was passed though a triple filter, carbon/resin/ceramic to produce our drinking water.

In the UK water is treated with Fluoride to help prevent tooth decay.

That will not be true of any water source in Thailand.

Consider using a toothpaste with extra fluoride.

its been proven that water treated with floride doesnt do anything for tooth decay at all.

They used to add floride to water in concentration camps to keep everyone suppresed.

  11. Would recomend Doi intonon natioal park and sam kampaeng hot springs both good days out the hot springs have a hot bath house you can rent for an hour with natural hot spring water great for inside an out, cost about 200 baht entry about 100 baht.

  12. Yes Gladiator thats the one, ive never tired toey wheres that?, is it the same location as Preecha?, sunset is ok the location is fantastic but i dont think the food is that good.

For me Preecha still best for quality and price but im in Pattaya next week so ill try toey if i can find it.

  13. Sounds like Aikido would be good for you as you can train as hard or soft as you like, depending on the style you choose as for me i teach in blighty not here though, but saying that i found an aikido/tai kwon do plce a few days ago if you turn right at the lights facing the night bizzar, then right at the end of the road its on the left about 500 metres.

I hav not had the chance to check the place out yet now youve reminded me i may go this evening.

  14. The best seafood retaraunts are in ban amphur theres about 5 of them right by the sea, proof is the amount of thais who eat there.

If you get there to late on a friday or saturday you wont get a table, not only are they cheap but also very good the evidence is all the new Bmw's Mercs and range rovers on the car park at the preecha seafood place its the 3rd one on the right.

As for directions take the highway out of Pattaya past Jomtiem and carry on towards Sattahip, about 12 ks turn right at Ban amphur traffic lights and follow the road round to the left past the market the restaraunts are there on the right.

as i said iused to eat at the Preecha as it is definetly yht best one.

  15. In answer to your question Globalhot i dont think these people will ever wake up to reality, for some reason they seem to be in a different world than the rest of us.

But i suppose if youve squandered all your hard earned on a pipe dream it must be hard to let go, i for one would take what i could get if i wanted out that bad.

Ive spoke to some of these so called business people in the past and they really believe their own press, poor deluded folk.

Its abit like thoses contestants on pop idol who really beleive they can sing:-).

  16. Ubc's always been a rip off we bought the system when i lived in patters when it rained it always went off, and as we had bought it we couldnt do anything in the end i just cancelled it as it was acomplete waste of time IMO.
