If you buy through a company you may then want to consider putting the building freehold in your name and keeping land (as you have to ) in the Thai company. This should stop you having to pay rent to the company and thus reduce tax expense.

Flew out in July and back this week. Masks advised but not required.

If you lose your TM6 stub given back to you when you enter it is no problem on leaving as you just fill that part out again on departure as I did on my last visit. Its a very common issue.

Yes did Bht8m over 4 days as had sold a condo. No paperwork required no questions asked.

I use the Bangkok Bank phone app and the swift option for international transfers. Allows you to transfer Bht2m per day. Yesterday the rate was bht43.63 for GBP. Funds arrive in my UK account the following day. Seems not to follow the exchange control act above.

I really like the Qatar Q suites but you have to check flights carefully as it tends to come and go on some of the Bangkok legs.
(as an aside just flew in from London on the new Thai (well newly leased old plane) 777 that now has first class. There are two rows of business just behind first that makes that bit of business a bit more secluded. I thought I may treat myself to an updgrade to first on the way back. The web single fare in first is about Bht117,000. To upgrade from my business class ticket they quoted me Bht133,000!!!. This is obviously quite bizarre. Sent emails about this to three different Thai email addresses - waiting to see if they will respond).

I use the service daily with no issues unless it is 11pm - 6am Thailand time when certain services are restricted.

The UK NHS certicate that you download for travel only lasts about 5 weeks. But on any day you can download a new one or just show on your phone with a 5 week expiry.

I am from UK and just submit for two shots of Astra Zeneca and always get a pass. Process seems to be getting faster as applied at 2pm May 7th and got the pass at 5am 8th May.

I have been in and out from UK a few times via Qatar and as per above UK was country of departure and used flight number from Qatar with no problems.

Just to note that it is only the labour that is cheap. The import duties on material make it more expensive than many other countries. If you are on a short trip best to tell them you are leaving a day or two before you really are so extra time for adjustments to be made. I always used to buy my suits in M&S as I was standard size but had shirts made in Bkk though the shop I used has now closed.

If you have a UK passport you need to leave a space after the last digit. That got rid of the API error for me and allowed my submission. My confirmation of receipt email took a few hours to come through.

BBC has printed the new list and Thailand still red.
That is not the covid red list that is the general Foreign Office travel advice list. If you read the post from the Foriegn Office they say they are going to remove the covid situation from their travel advice list and futher updates will be made this week. This list affects your ability to get travel insurance to the countries on the list.
The Department of Transport issues the Red list.

Sorry but expat drivers in Thailand and tourists on motorbikes are just as bad.

The Elite representative that escorts you through immigration checks the date on the stamp that immigration put in as once on mine they put the normal 1 month rather than 1 year which soon got changed when the rep took the passport back to the immigration official.

According to http://www.thefa.com/thefacup/more/tv in Thailand shown by BBTV which I think is Channel 7

TAT should update all their photos of Thai beaches to eliminate the beds and umbrellas - then numbers will surely increase significantly? Though this week Patong Beach is virtually deserted - public yet out in numbers to "reclaim" their beach.

Had mine 6 months and it's been great, football has been good. Overall no complaints , then yesterday it says subscription expired, even though it's only half way through.
Tried to ring both numbers advertised and no answer.
Does anyone have Alan's number ?
And can you go direct to maige tv to pay ?
Thx
Same happened for me - just suddenly stopped working 6 months in. Contacted Alan by email - slow response - said he would check subscription - have emailed repeatedly still no response. His mb number is 0839142939. I have now just bought Maige HDs2 (has wifi included) from China - delievered by DHL and works fine (in settings when you select English and save you have to reboot for it to take effect). , Only reason I wanted it was to get Astro Supersport 3 to get premier league news and Football Today...... having now had the reset of channels on CTH I notice that they are broadcasting the BPL Live channel on stadium 6 so have it now anyway....... at least I have a portable device to take on travels

My condo - Sukhumvit Suites Soi 13 provided Cable TV for free (which I had never watched as I used True) but meant that the provider Charoen Cable was able to come to my condo to install the CTH box for me. They actually put a splitter in to also connect their cable TV to my TV. They were very quick and efficient. I also have the CTH satellite dish in Phuket - pointing to 131.8. The Satellit has the EPL channels showing but the cable did not - they said on cable this will go live on 15 August. Added bonus is having Sky News.

Why purchase tailor made clothes in Bangkok

For me when living here I did not get suits made as a 42L from Marks and Spencer fitted me well. But when it came to shirts for work, fashion changed so it was difficult to find shirts with top pockets which I wanted and I liked a slightly looser neck (in the days when we had to wear ties) which meant for off the shelf I would have to have a really baggy shirt and also the arm lengths did not quite fit and the cuff was a bit tight with my fitness watch. So buying "made to measure" gave me exactly what I wanted. It was not about cost it was about having something I felt really comfortable wearing and looked very smart. And no I would not have gone to Saville row to get them made there.
