  1. I read that Thailand was going to offer a visa that was compairitable to a tourist visa onot longer and it was to cost about 5k. It was to be announced in November but since then there has been silence in the immigration offices. Even the immigration officer that is a close friend sys he's heard about it but hasn't been told much more than "november".

My parents were planing a trip here in February and my elite visa only covers one for 9 weeks. The 2nd I need to figure out arrangements and currently it's looking good like the 1900B for 7 extra days is the best bet for not leaving.

My friend can have 28 days added at a cost of 7,500 but still that's fairly limited when they are looking to buy here.

Is there any news on this new kind of osa or is it all just blowing smoke.

  2. I have an elite visa which I purchased for 500k 5 months ago. I came and went a few times but lots my passport after landing cause I'm an idiot.

I went to reapply the elite visa paper on my passport and was told I need to have at least one prior visa which makes no sense to me. I was recommended Laos by a friend but I'm not really sure of the process.

He told me to land and tell them to take me to immigration and the guys outside would do most of the work. I've looked up a few companies but they involve sitting in a bus/van for 6-9 hours and I'm not gonna do that.

What is the process in Laos or is there somewhere better to go.

  3. I've been in Thailand for about 6 years now. Some of the time I would get double entry tourist visas and extend them but most of the time I would go to Singapore for lunch then fly back.

I've been told by a few very informedecision friends that landing and returning the same day or even the same week will begin to be restricted. Is there any validity to thismall or can I just keep going for my monthly lunches.

An elite visa is also an option at 500k for 5 years. Working 500k out over 5 years nearly matches what I pay for my tickets.

I'd prefer to continue my lunch breaks as they are a nice short holiday, but if it's going to become and issue I'm going to lean towards the elite visa.

    Any recommendations?

  4. I have emailed and attempted to phone most of the agents on the top 2 pages of Google and beyond saying they will check there is no response.

I have lived in BKK now for awhile and have moved a lot and have never had this issue.

I don't think my requirements are too much.

    20-25th

    Close to bits

Modern amenities with a decent kitchen

I've seen a condo called The Address 42 on Ekkamai that I really like and the styling of.

  5. I am about to enroll in a 2 year program and one of the top 3 schools in Thailand for finance. I have been told even people outside of Thai language schools are being tested for Thai and declined if they don't pass.

I have lived in Thailand now for 5 years and can get by verbally but cannot read most.

My question is will I be tested in Thai even though what I'm studying had nothing to do with it?

  6. I am about the start the process for the K1 visa and am wondering if anyone has had sucess with a law firm. A simple google search comes up with plenty of them but theres a huge price range between $1800 to $500. I'm not worried about the money but I am worried about being ripped off.

    Any suggestions would be great.

  7. That fact that so many people are defending someone who by his own admision says he doesn't know what he was doing. He then basically said he was distracted trying to avoid people and hit a boat... Then you guys come to his side cause of course it's always the thais fault, there's no chance that this moron was drunk/stupid and had an accident.

Whatever he paid for rental you can be sure it was a on the go no contract being signed kind of thing and anyone with an ounce of common sense would know they need to tread lightly.

You hear about it a lot because oh shocker, there's a lot of idiot tourists just like this guy, but no the thais should just suck it up, because who cares about them.

  8. There is a woman who has a clinic setup on Rama 4 that does real sports therapy. I've had multiple friends go in not even able to lift their hands past their shoulder (from shoulder pain) and she fixxed them in one treatment. Its a bit pricey at 1900 or 2000 a sesion but it works.

0867100010 She works alone or they are just very busy so sometimes when you call she wont answer but she always calls back and her english is fine as well.

  9. El Guacho also has a wagyu burger that is just amazing how tender it was. That and the 500g angus ribeye are my go to with a caipirinha to drink.

Comapired to the likes of Firehouse and Bangkok Burger and the rest of the new over priced burger joints El Guacho destroys them all as far as quality. Sick of spending 500$ for a shitty oily burger served by ex/bargirls, still to El Guacho.

  10. Its about that time of the year again and I'm looking for a restuarant that will be serving eggnog for xmas. I dont care if its a buffet/location/price/whatever, just so long as they have eggnog. On another note what has been the best place for you in the past.

  11. I'm going to try Ramathibodi Hospital and see what they can do sounds like the best thing. Sadly I did go cold turkey and I'm feeling it.

As for what it was prescribed for I have never been officially diagnosed with bipolar but I feel like I'm more on that side of the scale than straight depression.

I appreciate the help. For buying everything and anything there's always someone willing to sell it, expecially in bkk.

  12. Currently on Risperidone 1mg twice a day for depression and I used it for 6 months with a supply I had from the states. Worked well and zero weight gain. So ive run out as of a week ago and man oh man do I feel the difference.

Now the problem isn't getting it her its the cost. The pharmacy I use sells x20 1mg pills for about 2500B, seeing as I take them twice a day that's 5000b a month as well as the issue of availability which they seem shaky on.

Does any one have alternative suggestions in the Anti-psychotic medicine range for someone paying out of pocket? Ive used Seroquil in the past for 11 years and gained roughly 150lbs, so Id rather be massively depressed than a just depressed whale again.

  13. I've been in Thailand for about 5 years now and only recently have I seen multiple people being refused tourist visas. In my current passport I have 3 visas Jan 2012, Aug 2012 and Feb 2013. I just came back from the states after a few months there and was planing on doing an ED visa but learned that first I need a visa to get that visa...

So my predicament what is the likely hood that I am refused visa at either Laos or Cambodia. All visas are from Laos so far, or if anyone has an idea of the best way to go about this.

  14. Im looking for the 200-300B night hotels around that area. All im finding are ones in the range of 500-600, as the rooms not for me I dont care what its like.

As well does anyone have any reviews on the JS tower Serviced Apartment on Soi 50.

  15. Was looking at the cascade club and membership seems insanely like truly insanely priced. One time "Entrance fees" of over 30,000B... I assume those are always waived? The photos look decent but for even 17k up front then 1800 monthly id hope to be getting an amazing gym.

  16. So picking up a new place in the Sathorn area and with that comes a new gym. Used to go to True Fitness on Asoke and loved it. Just looking for somewhere with free weights.

  17. Im looking for a room in Lumpini Ville on Soi 77 for around 10-15k or something similar in the chidlom-onut range. Only requirements are no studios and that it has a kitchen smalls fine.

Also looking in pattaya same price range but have very limited idea of a nice area to be in, just want to be within walking distance of beach and decently close to a market for food.
