The root of the problem is probably caused by the long evolution of the Thai politic system. If both sides are unable to reach the agreements, then it must be due to that system failure. Honestly, I regret very much that most Thai people will face their most tough decision this Sunday. I know one thing for sure, they want peace, enjoying Thai food, supporting one another but not by means of through corruption. Hope the top-level people will respect that and not overlook people's essential basic living routines. Bless them.
Are you kidding? I think you speak for yourself and not the Thais. Thais are completely comfortable with corruption. As far as they are concerned it is part of Thai culture.
I just happen to see many Thais are injured and some are killed and it is very sad. Is that what you call "comfortable with corruption"?

Is government really homeless now?

Trying to figure out the core definition of "Farang" - Maybe this word is meant for people who could not speak or write Thai language in regardless of their nationality. If some expats live in Thailand too long, would they been better off by saying they are Thai-ish residents? Of course, I dont expect Thai people to understand that. In other words, most Thai people would agree that "Farang" is probably the best traditional word.
It is a lot better than words used by Farang to refer to other people in their own or other Farang countries.
Yup, I agree. Also if the farang can do fluent Thai beautifully, then this will somewhat put most Thai people into a dilemma whether to call her/him Thai or farang.

Glad someone calls to bring two sides to talk; no matter how difficult it will be.

Why can't both Yingluck & Suthep arrange the "peace" debate in the front of the public through live TV? It will not cost anyone's life.
Actually Suthep DID challenge her to a debate. She declined.
Then it will cost someone's life.

Glad you are recovered quickly & treated well. And please convey my warm applause to 4 Thai ladies & police. That is how democracy should be!
-
Well done, PDRC security officers. If this policeman will be confessed himself with drugs & weapon, it must be embarrassing for government.

I, myself as born deaf, find this article very disturbing and it is quite common that some deaf Thai persons roaming in the restaurants as long as the owners do not mind. It is true that they do sell some small items like key chains, etc. Occasionally they approached me, I asked them why it costs 100B in international sign language. They often laughed & replied politely "that is up to me whether to buy or not" in their own hands. Besides that, we share the same difficulties with verbal communication barriers in the hearing world - especially business or employment. And I could not understand how these expats are posing as deaf persons and I shall be intrigued to see how good their signing fluent & deaf culture as well.

Can't say if my response may help...but at least a worth to mention something little...
Very similar to my step daughter who has a Thai passport successfully without her father's permission.
First of all, English mother requires a certified guarantor letter. It can be obtained from the auphor depending on her interview. If they decide to go ahead the proceeding, this letter requires two eyewitnesses who acquaint to your step-daughter. Is that what you are hoping for? The cost is something like 200B, I can't remember, sorry.
It would be great if she can speak Thai, otherwise the Thai-speaking assistance is recommended.

Many offices want one recently updated. Unless you are certain that your office does not require it I suggest getting one. They are easy to obtain at any Amphoe for a fee of 20 baht.
Please ensure it is stamped officially (Red Thai circle shape - both front and back). That is what my immigration usually check for that.

KL has not done them for several months now. That is why I mentioned Savannakhet. Penang is a maybe but you need to check with an agent there to get the latest news.
Single entry marriage visa at Singapore will probably be my panic button. However I shall bear in mind about the Penang possibility next time with much thanks. (Savannakhet is still unknown to me - Laos?)

I am flying to Singapore next month for Thai Embassy, Singapore. Is the multi-entry visa (marriage) still available?
From memory, I recollect that Singapore have a history of not issuing Multiple entry Non Immigrant Visas to non Singapore residents.
Yes, I believe your memory is correct. So I am considering to take a inexpensive flight to Kuala Lumpua from Singapore where Thai embassy can do the multiple entry visa for marriage.
See http://www.thai-consulate.net/thai-embassy-in-kuala-lumpur.html Hope they keep a word for that!

Mixed reports about Singapore. I would not suggest going there.I am flying to Singapore next month for Thai Embassy, Singapore. Is the multi-entry visa (marriage) still available?
Savannakhet Laos yes.
Most grateful & greatly valued for your wee comment! I just realise that therefore I may like to take the inexpensive flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpua instead. I hope KL Thai embassy do still make the issues for multiple entry visa for marriage?

I understand this applies for local immigration office but what about Thai embassy - does it need the lesser requirement? For instance, can Kor Ror 2, letter from Thai bank, and the presence of Thai wife for interview be omitted?
The very best that could be hoped for would be a 12 month multi entry visa requiring border runs every ninety days. These visas are virtually impossible to obtain.

When applying for a 12 month extension to live with spouse
a foreign lady does not need to show financials while a foreign man does.
A Rough Guide.
(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.
Letter from your Thai Bank showing balance and up to date bank book.
OR.
If income from outside Thailand: Letter from your Embassy showing income. Now may also need proof of income as back up.
If Income from Thailand: Statements showing Income Tax receipts.
Marriage Certificate. (Kor Ror 3)
Marriage Registry entry. (Kor Ror 2)
Wife's Tabbien Baan and ID Card.
Your Passport.
Copies of everything.
Photos of you and your Wife in and around the house.
A map showing the way to your house.
Passport size photos and 1,900 Baht fee.
Take your Wife to be interviewed.
One or two witnesses may be required.
You will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp.
Go back in a month and get the remainder.

Do you just need to cross the border and come back? If so it's very, very easy - I usually cross here - https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=6.696661,100.177116&spn=0.232207,0.347786t=h&z=12 not sure of the tiny border town name but my stamp says Khuan Don which is the district and the border is on the 4184 road. It is West and North of Sadao and Padang Besar and is actually in Satun rather than Songkhla
Is there a local bus? Or is the taxi/car necessary? Is it good place to visit there?

Is XETrade really beneficial for expats to transfer the funds to Thai banks?
See http://www.xe.com/xetrade/?WT.mc_id=XTR-TL-XUCI-XIN-XX-V02-131001
Currently the bank service (i.e. HSBC, UK) is charging the unwanted fee and using the "lower" rate & XETrade seems to have the better advantage in my opinion.
Appreciate any suggestions (both Pro & Con) or comments if you have the experience with XEtrade account.

Surely you only need to show 400k in your current account for the past two months?
I thought that quote means for local immigration & 400K in your current account without proof for the past two months for Thai embassy (multi entry visa)? Am I right or wrong?

First thing would be not to discuss any plan involving working without a work permit on a public forum which is monitored by the Thai Authorities
Forums like this are a good way for the authorities to see how Farangs are abusing the visa requirements system
They are not going to target you personally however they will be able to collect data that shows how people are abusing the system and then make it harder for everyone else in the future
I completely disagree with these words "how Farangs are abusing the visa requirements system?". I think you are trying to say "how farangs are simply exercising their rights within the visa requirements system". Vice versa, Thai authorities should respect Thai regulations/rules to meet that as well. There is a little "but" - is Thai regulations/the rules being fair for farangs? That is my dilemma.
