In a significant step forward for Thailand’s defence capabilities, the Royal Thai Air Force has officially unveiled a homegrown “Kamikaze UAV”, a suicide drone designed for precision strike missions. The announcement was made on 5 July 2025, with military officials hailing the development as a major achievement in indigenous defence technology.
The Kamikaze UAV, also referred to as a “suicide drone”, is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) engineered to deliver high-impact explosive payloads with pinpoint accuracy. The drone is capable of mid-range assaults and has demonstrated an impressive targeting deviation of less than five metres during field trials.
This cutting-edge project is the result of close collaboration between the Navaminda Kasatriyadhiraj Royal Air Force Academy, the Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering, and the Royal Thai Air Force’s Aviation and Space Research and Development Centre (AVSREC). The UAV is equipped with a high-powered warhead and has already passed rigorous testing, successfully neutralising designated targets in controlled conditions.
Military officials stated that the Kamikaze UAV marks a pivotal step toward the mass production and deployment of Thai-made smart weaponry, enhancing the nation’s ability to defend its sovereignty with advanced military technology.
“This achievement not only demonstrates our technological potential but reinforces the importance of self-reliance in national defence,” a senior air force official said.
The unveiling of the drone aligns with the Royal Thai Air Force’s broader modernisation strategy, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign suppliers and fostering homegrown innovation in defence systems.
As one senior figure put it, “National security cannot be bought with money, it must be built by our own hands.”
The new UAV is expected to enter active service in the near future, significantly bolstering Thailand’s aerial strike capabilities while setting a benchmark for future domestic defence developments.

If you are comfortable during the day, not sleepy or fatigued, and in good health otherwise, your body knows how much sleep it needs.
When I was an older teen, I would sleep for 12-15 hours on the weekends. Now that I'm almost 80, I go to sleep around 11:30-12:00 and wake up with the sun; that's about 6.5 hours in summer and a bit longer in winter. I don't take any naps during the day, am quite physically active with sports and motorcycle riding every day.
Why do you think you must have 8 hours of sleep as an adult?Exactly. Both myself and my Thai wife have trouble sleeping. It's down to old age. I'm awake at 0300 and can barely stay in bed until 0400. Mrs Thai parents were the same. I should say I have no problem falling asleep. Usually in bed at 2000. I'm older than you by a lot.
Those people and advocating medicines are out of touch with nature. Your body knows how much sleep you need. Absolutely no need for meds. (Opinion - I'm not a doctor, but I don't believe doctors know the answer either.)

What you are after is 12 month bank statement from BBL. (not bank letter)
Bangkok Bank (unfortunately take few days to provide that.
Apply early and submit it on day of application for extension.
It has a validity of 7 days.
The bank Letter can also be obtained early.
It's simply a statement that you are account owner and balance on day of issue.
200 and 100b respectively
I get my retirement visa extensions in Korat. IO insist on a bank letter dated the same date as the application. Won't accept a letter dated one day before. I know and I've tried it. Also the bank letter IS required.

BS. The TDAC was not introduced because of the Samui situation

Seven Dead as Runaway Bus Slams into Trucks and Bursts into Flames
One more reason for brake failure is that when the driver goes to fast downhill and stands on the brakes they will get cooked and will not slow down the vehicle (bus or truck) like they suppose to.
That's brake failure caused by brain failure.
Hey all of you. Who said it was brake failure? I thought it said police are investigating.

Dogs should never be given priority over humans and doing so is a sign of a broken society. Not only that but the owner should face a massive fine. There's just no excuse to have a poorly behaved dog who's aggressive toward others, especially defenseless children.
Quite agree. No sympathy for people who have these dogs and then get mauled. But the dogs also go after other people especially innocent children. Punishment for the owners should be at least the same as if they committed the attack themselves. I can't go for a walk here in the countryside because of the aggressive dogs.

But foreign tourists want Guides who can speak their language. How many Thai Guides can speak Chinese, Russian or Korean, for example?
Most Thai Guides can't do this job.
This is protectionism gone mad.

Forget Thaksin - yesterday's man anyway - and he's only stating the obvious. The country has been dragged down by two decades of old-money families who work only for the enrichment of their small circles. It's pretty clear that only a handful of oligarchs own all the retail, property development, alcohol and agrifood businesses. Anyone who's lived here even just a couple of years can easily see that the prices in supermarkets, convenience stores, etc., are always the same - regardless of where they shop. But the lack of industrial or economic development is the real killer for the country and has left most people poor. Building more condos or hotels is not 'economic development'. Earning under 10,000 baht a month, as so many do - if they're lucky enough to have a 'regular economy' job - means they'll always be poor and likely in debt. The Poo-Yai, Poo-Noi system and the pathetic state education system are the root problems - at least they need to start there - they need to start somewhere. The Future Forward party is the movement Thai voters chose, only to have the old money types disenfranchise the majority once again.
Agreed. Uninhibited protectionism is killing Thailand. From import restrictions, monopolies and tariffs to local job creation. Stifling entrepreneurship and job creation. Wicked.

But what if they introduce blow-in-the-breathalysers? Who gets a discount then?

These are all self-inflcted wounds and they are not going to be fixed by the lunatics in charge of the country.
First the US dismantled it's manufacturing base, became dependent on other countries to supply the goods they once made and now think they can reverse this and go back to where they were 30 plus years ago. Not going to happen.
Before this year is over, the US will be in total turmoil as other countries isolate it and find more secure options as they unite against a now bankrupt, dysfunctional "world power". As the West goes down the East will rise. End of story.
You may well be right. Trump blames 'cheap labour' for China's success, but have you seen their modern high-tech automated factories?
Nothing. like those in USA. (Except for Tesla). Never will be. Americans want a higher standard of living without earning it.
Also why don't countries buy American products? Because they're crap. Cars are still gas guzzlers and old technology (except Tesla) and foods are GM modified and unhealthy. Just look at the obese American population for proof. Who wants to eat like that?

But the construction work wasn't finished. Concrete takes about 30 days to reach full strength. So if there were, say, three stories concrete poured in the last month it would have been in a very weak condition.
And buildings that are 'earthquake resistant' applies to completely built buildings - it cannot apply to buildings still under construction as is the case here.
A question. Apart from myself why is no one talking about this?
-
Nobody is mentioning this - the building was under construction. It takes 30 days for concrete to reach full strength. There could be (say) 3 floors with wet concrete. Plus anti-earthquake design features may not yet have been installed. A building can only be earthquake resistant AFTER IT IS COMPLETE.

She has the right to sell what she wants in her country.
Nobody is forced to buy them.
If the guy being pushed out of the shop is so upset, he has 2 choices.
1 He can buy them all and do what he wants with them.
2 He can simply walk on by and ignore the shirts, the shop and the owner.
What he does NOT have the right to do. is to tell the owner what she can or cannot sell.
She does NOT have the right to sell what she wants. For example suppose she had T shirts depicting anti Buddhist images? Would she demand the right to sell those?
Or other obscene or distasteful images, depicting sad war or child images.
There has to be a line drawn somewhere. Is no one sensitive to these issues, does no one care?

PM Paetongtarn accused of 218 million baht tax evasionhttps://thethaiger.com/news/national/pm-paetongtarn-accused-of-218-million-baht-tax-evasion?utm_source=Thaiger+Daily+EN&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2025-03-26
was also discussed in the voting of no confidence.
I add this for the simple reason of showing the PMs intelligent replies during this meeting.
In his opening speech to Parliament, Prawit accused Paetongtarn of failing to improve Thailand’s economy, which, he claimed, had led to increased domestic debt and a higher cost of living. He also voiced his opposition to the Pheu Thai Party’s proposal to establish an entertainment complex and casino.
After about ten minutes of Prawit’s speech, the Thai premier stood up and gave a brief response.
“I would like to say that what the senior member just said is not true. Thank you.”
And that was all that was said. So perhaps someone can explain to me how she is still the PM?
Ohh! Thaksins puppets voted in her favor.
“I would like to say that what the senior member just said is not true. Thank you.”
That's parroting Kier Starmer in UK Parliament a few weeks ago and he was hammered for it.
