Ok, thanks all, appreciate the feedback, parts manual would not work for us, need the service manual. Thanks for all the references especially the European name as that will help in my search.
-
We have a 2005 Honda Wave i125cc ( auto clutch) ; we are looking where we can buy the Manufacturer's service manual. We like to do our own maintenance on the mopeds. We'd appreciate anyone who has leads to websites, or address or phone numbers to vendors that sell them, thank you. We are located near Udon Thani city.

You can book NOW for those dates!
Yup, I've been "standing in line" waiting since I started this thread
Thank you for the follow up. Got my R/T tickets!!!

Tryout agoda.com , they have good info in that website. I have used them to find a transit hotel near BKK. Cheap rates

why so much weight?I pack light. If I need something I buy it at the night market. But i'm tight with my money so what can ya say.I have laundry service every 3 or 4 days
Trust me, if I can just get away w/just a backpack I'd be super happy

When I last travelled to LoS coming from USA, my check In baggages were 50 lbs each. I had a domestic flight from Bkk to Udon Thani using Thai Airways and no excess baggage weight fee imposed since I was still transitioning from an International flight. That was back in 2006.
Anyone recently have a similar itinerary and also was not charged the excess weight fee? Or has the rules change? Thai Airways website still say no charge if travelling to/from USA.
Reason why I ask, a friend of mine just returned from LoS , they arrived in Bkk using EVA Air, then took a domestic flight to Udon Thani and was charged excess baggage fee.
I don't feel like paying extra $100 for the fee, therefore I may have to drop weight to 44 lbs (20kg)

YouTube has some nice videos of flights into Chiang Mai in a Cessna type aircraft, searchterm= nok air flights to Chiang Mai
-
Hang on for a week or two.
Nok Mini or SGA Airlines have just leased 2 Saab 340's and based them at Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai to Udon is currently there most prolific route (10 r/t flights per week)
Can't see them cancelling this route unless they have obtained a more profitable one for these acft.
I'd say u will be able to book within a week to 10 days.
I saw the change in type of aircraft they will be using....too bad, as I wanted to experience the Cessna planes
(from what I have heard the view of the countryside from Cessna aircraft is nice, I am guessing due to lower flight altitude?)
-
Just received an email from Nok Mini in Chiang Mai.
Dear value passenger,
Timetable on website currently shows only flight schedule for winter 2010; period Oct 31 2010 - March 26 2011.
The new flight schedule time will be shown soon.
Please kindly visit our website later.
Best Regard
Customer service Chiang Mai Station, Nok Mini Airlines
knocka,
Nice to see an official reply from Nok Air. Very comforting
I actually used the same link you provided to email them 2 times but no luck with receiving a reply (I suspect my email service provider has blocked them, therefore I never seen a reply from Nok Air)
I really appreciate your follow up. Thank you.
-
Thank you all for your responses. I will give it another week or so, then call Nok Air if no online schedule for April appears. Unfortunately emails inquiries sent to them (2 times) have come unanswered (unless my email provider is blocking their replies)
I'll repost with any updates in case others may also be interested, thank you all again.

Hello all,
I am here in USA. I am trying to book online Round Trip flight from Udon Thani to Chiang Mai from April 4th to 7th . But the Nok Air website ends online booking to/from Udon Thani-Chaing Mai on March 26 2011. Does anyone here have experience with Nok Air Website...will the schedule update to reflects flights avail after March 26th 2011? Email inquiries to NOK AIR did not get replies back to me.
Currently I am trying to call them to find out, but my phone card is not so reliable ...hehehe! Any info from anyone is appreciated.

Hi;
I have worked in Thailand for 10 years, and have decided to return to the states for a USA wedding ceremony (already had Thai ceremony, unregistered), and live there for a while before I retire. The papers to apply for a fiancee visa were mailed to the states today (my mom and sister will forward them to homeland security).
HOWEVER, this means I will be getting a fiancee visa to bring my wife to my mom's place in the states (81 years old and living alone in a big house since my dad died), and I have no job in the states. I will look for one when we get there.
Will this be a problem for my fiancee visa, being unemployed? I don't want to go first and break up our family here, and I would really want to be here for the interview (strong recommendation from others that have been thru the process).
As I have been gone for 10 years I would hope this would be ok, but I don't know. Anyone know the policy here?
I dont have a answers to your question but I suggested posting this scenario in 2 other forums that deals with Visas to USA from Thailand....
1) the Thai Falang Board http://forums.delphiforums.com/thaifalang/start
2) Visajourney.com there is a specific thread (a LONG thread but very useful info)
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...pic=78&st=0
Post your questions in there and the perhaps you'll get an accurate answer
Good luck

LV_Panda,
Here is a timeline for when I went thru the K-1 in 2004
07-20-04 USCIS-CSC receives I-129F
07-26-04 NOA1 (letter stating they received application and how long an application may take)
08-27-04 NOA2 received email of approval
09-01-04 NOA2 received letter in mail
09-09-04 Received NVC letter (dated 09-06-04) petition headed to US Embassy, BKK
09-16-04 Emailed US Embassy BKK for inquiry of case; they have it (no mention of exact date received)
09-23-04 Pocky receives the "Packet 3" in mail
10-18-04 Pocky gets medical exam at Bumrungrad, applies for Police Certificate, pays K-1 Visa Fee and turned in DS-230 pt 1 & “checklist”
01-14-05 Interview date!!
BUT that was in 2004 and things do (and have) change(d) with timelines and K-1 processes (especially the packet 3 process)...I would highly suggest visiting this link:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...pic=78&st=0
Many people posting in there that are currently going thru the K-1 process and they are all in different stages from beginning to end.....
Once again...good luck

Hello everyone,
I found this website while researchinmg visa info and must say that everyone seems very informed and more important very friendly and helpful. I have a Thai girlfriend and we want to apply for a K1 visa. We have known each other for about a year and were introduced through a common friend, he is Thai and lives in the same city as me. I went to Thailand in May to meet and will be going back in November. I believe we should not have a problem with the visa but was wondering how long the process takes, approximately. I have heard anywhere from a couple months to a year or more. If we are truthful and supply all the information, and more, that they ask for how long can we expect the wait to be?
Thank you for your insight.
There are many others going through the same route as you (K-1) and the length of time really depends on your local USCIS service center. I went thru the process in 2004. Sent in the I-129F petition via California USCIS service center in July of 2004 and my then fiance was interviewed at the US Consulate in Bangkok around Jan 2005 (so it was about 6 months) ....
There are a couple of other forums I suggest you take a look at for valuable resources and information:
1) the Thai Falang Board http://forums.delphiforums.com/thaifalang/start
and
2) VisaJourney.com look for a thread called SAWASDEE2 .... oh, well here's the link to that thread:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...pic=78&st=0
Its always good to have a photo with date stamp on it with your fiance...another plus is having a photo taken with her family. Also (as I can recall from my experience) if you can get a copy of her birth certificate and get that translated to English, it will help when you submit that with your I-129F, even though the Birth Certificate is not a required document to send in...I have read many people get an RFE "request for evidence" for such a document. Just an FYI!!
Good luck with everything and travel safe (and save those boarding passes as proof for having met each other)

I arrive this friday at the new airport for the first time.
In the past the wifes parked up at the old airport & met me at arrivals.
This time the brother-in-laws picking me up & like me hes never been to the new airport.
So any advice on a good meeting point?
Is there only one exit once you come threw customs? unlike the old airport where you could go either right or left to exit the airport.
Who does not know starbucks coffee.....on the 3rd level....theres a starbucks...perhaps a meeting point?

Million-dollar toilets for Suvarnabhumi
Suvaranabhumi Airport operators are to take space from Customs, security and Thai Airways International to build new toilets for passengers at a cost of 40 million baht (more than $1 million).
Airports of Thailand President Chotisak Asapaviriya acknowledged the scathing criticism of passengers and the public over the lack of toilets.
He said AoT intends to invest 40 million baht to build more toilet facilities because Suvarnabhumi has fared poorly on this issue. Over 200 toilets for both men and women will be added, he said. But he estimated passengers and airport staff would have to hold for about four months to await completion of construction. [more...]

While they are at it, why not invest in more trash can/containers!!

seems easy enough- get passport, apply, interview... but what is the likelihood of someone getting a visa who has nothing, not even a degree? i did a search on here for other people taking thais to the US and can't find any info.
I'd recommend that his potential employer write a formal letter to the US Consulate for your thai friend to take to his Interview. In that formal letter, the employer should write that they will provide the financial means for your thai friend to travel to and from the USA. Perhaps that will help.

Esteemed Board Members,
I am seeking a competent Bangok based immigration attorney for visas to the U.S. I am currently working on a K-3 for my Thai wife, K-1 for my friend and H2 _B visas to the U.S. We have gotten to the point of approval on all of these visas including Labor Certification for the H2-B visa and the K visas for our respective partners. Our U.s. attorney is nopw squeezing us with hefty additional fees. Since we are this far along and I am now incountry in Thailand I am seeking a Bangok based attorney to follow up on therse respective visas here in BKK. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
LL

I am in the middle of trying to apply for a visa for my wife to come to the US. The National Visa Center is stringing me along, sending me bills, followed by various forms to complete.
Right now there is just one more form to complete before all of the forms are sent to the US Embassy in BKK. It is the first part (Biographic Data) of the DS-230 form.
In a particular Section 19 of the form, it asks for a listing of the names of my wife's children. The only child she/we have is our 2 year old daughter, who was born in Thailand, and who has dual citizenship with Thailand and the US (in Sep 2005 she obtained her US Passport and SSN).
Since my daughter is a US citizen, and hence does not require a visa to come to the US, should I list her on the DS-230 form? I want to believe the names of the children are requested so that they too can be issued a visa stamp in their passports, but as I stated earlier, my daughter does not require this. Am I wrong? Should I list my daughter's name?
Btw, I should note that I have not listed my daughter in any of the other forms that I have submitted to the National Visa Center, with the exception of the I-864 (affidavit of support) in relation to this visa application because I knew that she did not require a visa. On I-864, I did not have to list her name, but merely that I had a child dependent.
Anyhow, any kind thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
Just my 2 cents worth.....I would add your daughter's name in the field. After all its the application for your wife's Visa and IF the daughter's name is not listed and they ask her (during the interview) if she has any children and say yes, how is that going to look?

I am leaving Thailand early next month and want to take my small shuttle computer with me. I have a standard size cabin bag, (he sort that fit into the frame thing they have at checkout) and the computer is small enough to fit in there nicely. I can then carry the computer in that, making sure it is safe. I certainly don't want it thrown around in normal baggage.
However, I have heard that you are only allowed a small bag now, enough to hold a few personal items and this would stuff my plans to safely transport the PC.
What does anyone know about this change, if it is indeed a change?
Might want to call your Airlines company to see what is allowed as a carry on. Usually the airlines would post what is allowed on their website. Have a good and safe trip =-)

Hello all:
I have a friend who will be going to BKK and has a question. He wanted to know how long it would take to leave plane (from international flight-from USA), get his luggages, check-in domestic counters (thai airways) and be at the departing domestic gate?
He has booked all his flights already and the time he has is about 1 hour 30 minutes to get from his international flight to the gate of the domestic flight (using Thai Airways)....would that be enough time , pending everything is on schedule? Thanks in advanced.
regards,
George
Yes but dont dally at the Duty Free and check what time Check in closes and gate close usually 30 minutes check in and 10 minutes gate on Domestic. International arrivals is on level 2 he will go up to level 4 departures and go to left on that floor for Thai check ins.
See plans and info. pics.

Thanks Boxer, good to have an on-line reference for the airport, very nice!! And thanks for the advice....will let friend know it's possible with the timeframe he's got.

I am flying to BKK in a few days. My wife wants to meet me at the airport. She will be hiring a private mini-bus taxi that will bring her from Korat to the airport, and then take us both back to Korat.
Can someone please tell me where the private taxi will need to park, and where my wife needs to go to meet up with me? I will be arriving on an international flight.
Thank you in advance for your replies.
Not sure if there is a designated place for a hired mini-van, otherwise it would be the parking lot structure across from the terminals.
I was just there leaving for USA on the 29th of Sept and I beleive floor 3 is where the restaurants and meeting areas are at!
Enjoy the trip!!
PS: Oops, I should of checked out the link provided by "boxer" as he already has the info I provided, LOL
