Any ideas on the best places to meet intelligent, sophisticated, good looking, physically fit farang women in Phuket? Spending some time with a woman who can hold a coherent conversation without giggling incessantly, talking on her mobile and trying to make a joke out of taking my money would be a really nice change.

why on earth would anyone want to become a thai citizen? you would still be a farang to the thais especially all the bureaucrats and business people you have to deal with but would be perpetually subject to arrest and improsionment without any recourse or even being shot as a "suspected" drug dealer without anyone having to explain...you would have hassles going to any other country that you can now go to, many without even an advance visa...

havent you noticed than most thais wish they could get out of here and live somewhere else? with a thai passport, you could be stuck here for a long long time, trying to get visas...

if your motivation is to buy land, just form a company and have the company own the land...

last year we bought a chevy colorado 4x4 four door pickup for about 850,000 with all kinds of free options...we went to their showroom, and lots of others, then called the saleman we'd spoken to...the next day he brought the finance people and all forms to our office, the whole deal took 15 minutes...three days later they delivered the truck...when something like the solinoid or starter stuck, a truck came in less than an hour to pick it up and brought it back 36 hours later...after the tsunami, gmac, the finance company, called us to ask if we need three months grace period for our payments...

considering the normal level of business service in thailand, i would never buy anything but another chevrolet...

i think i remember pretty good waves in aug and sept, maybe oct in kamala when i lived there...but i'm not a surfer dude, so i dont know if they were suitable...i do remember it was ###### getting a boogie board out past them to get a ride in...

whats being discussed on this forum is a special rate for residents...we were just trying to give everybody that lives here a fun change from the bars and patong scene...not to make a profit...

on the regular four hour party cruise, we normally charge 2000 baht and give unlimited shots (not watered down with ice) and 40 baht beers; on the sunset cruise we charge 2000 baht and all drinks are free...and we provide free hotel transfers in airconditioned minivans...obviously we cant do that for 500 baht still offer 30 baht heinekens and 15 baht shots which is our cost...

there are an infinite number of possible prices and offerings but we have decided that this one would work best...i havent seen anywhere that offers 40 baht draft heinekens and unlimited free real shots (just booze no ice!) and the cruise alone is worth the price of admission...we've had some unbelievable parties - so good that the guests have paid the staff and crew out of their own pockets to go another couple hours!

dont know why they got shut down in pattaya, maybe they broke the law? ...we are fully in line with all regs and laws and pay all our license and bribes on time...

Good News! But what a shame they are closing all the bars at 1 am and sending everyone home! Where oh where can the party go on all night long?

there are also plenty of taxis in patong who will bring your group to the pier and then take them home in the morning...and there are always private taxis at the peir in the morning...

there is an open air quiet, upper "chill out" deck with cushions on the floor, minimal lighting ...we also have three a/c double cabins which we did not rent out for 300 baht per half hour to the 60 marines who had a "back from iraq" cruise in april since that would be encouraging immoral and illegal activities so dont ask elliot when you get on board...

we havent advertised these residents of thailand special price yet excpet to talk about it here so we didnt get 20 people last friday but we're cool with trying it again this friday if you're interested...

we did email most of the owners of bars in patong to offer them 100 baht per person commission for an after-closing hours cruise to start at 130 so they wouldnt be losing any money...but not one even answered...go figure...

we have ten tuk tuks and taxis liined up to be available to bring people direct from the bars to the pier and come back at 6am or whatever time the customers want to pick them up...

we have free snacks like popcorn, peanuts, pretzels and sell bbq chicken wings, sandwiches, etc for 100 baht a pop - minimal profit, just a courtesy...

the biggest crowd we had was 70+ and there was plenty of room...there are four separate areas with a total of 120 seats and plenty of space for standing up, walking around and dancing...

My advice is leave out the shots all together, people dont fall for the free shot thing anymore, especially when they know its nothing more than crushed ice and a dash of cheap vodka !

thnks for that - we put down an empty shot glass and fill it with hootch...if you want ice in another glass, ask, but its always a full shot... thats why everyone has a great time on our boat - and probably why i'm not a millionaire!

thanks for the input...i havent see anywhere on phuket that sells heineken for 40 baht all night, maybe chang or tiger...and definitely not for 30 baht, which is cost...anyone drinking for 4 hours or longer will more than make up for the cover charge and have the advantages of being out on the boat - cool sea breezes, great secluded party atmosphere unlike sitting in a hot, dusty, car exhaust-laced bar...

we are always looking for organizations and groups who want to have private charter party cruises...we have done quote a few of these...we even had an episode of "temptation island" filmed on a cruise!

ok...we're gonna make this fridays party cruise customers' choice, either pay a 1,000 baht pp minimum applicable towards 40 baht heinekens and 20 baht shots or pay 500 pp cover and get 30 baht heinekens and 15 baht shots...i'll see which is more popular...

and i'm concerned about drining anywhere in thailand - its like playing a video game expert level on acid (i've heard)

taking the boat, which weighs 107 tons, to patong, would cost about 16,000 baht round trip so for 20 pax it would not be such good idea...

the drive to chalong is not so bad from patong at night...

but i do appreciate your thinking about the possibilities...

Unfortunatley I don't live in Phuket (oh, how I wish!), but it seems like a good idea. Perhaps you should state the max/min number of people you would take out on a cruice.

We normally charge 2,000 baht for our four hour 9pm - 1 am Party Cruise which includes unlimited free shots, 40 baht draft Heineken, 40 baht coolers, and half the local prices on all mixed drinks...

What do you think would be an enticing offer (and let's try to be serious here - I'm not gonna pay you to come drink my beer!), that would get a decent (size, not character) crowd for local residents, expats, etc? No admission charge but a 1,000 baht minimum towards 40 baht beers and 20 baht shots, etc? 500 baht admission with 30 baht heineken and 15 baht shots? Some other combination of these?

We can operate all night as we are governed by marine regulations not the land police. I want to keep the boat in use and give my new staff some experience. Remember I need to pay for fuel for driving the boat and for electricity. This can be any night of the week.

I'm living in Bangkok and I am looking to find a reasonable offer for a 7 to 10 days cruise around Phucket.

The boat should be equiped for a 7 members Family : 5 children 4/7/12/13/15 years, 2 parents and maybe additional 2 more adults.

when do you want to go? we have two boats available right now...one is our 28 meter party boat which used to be a liveaboard and has six a/c cabins and two hot showers, three toilets...it is amazingly equipped for fun, we are even installing an a/c kids movie room/video games room, and if you want, we can provide 24-hour child care on board...we can have additional crew for bar service if you want...if you're going soon, this boat would cost you 2,750 baht a day pay for the basic crew, whatever fuel you use plus 15,000 baht a day...you can see more about this boat at www.seadawgs.biz

the big boat uses about 4000 baht an hour of fuel while moving and about 250 baht an hour while standing for electrical...it can cruise at 12 knots but we usually keep it at 8 knots...the smaller boat uses about half that fuel cruising and nothing while standing since it has no a/c, music, fridges etc...
