Hi there, maybe someone knows the answer to this one.
Ive been married to my thai wife for 17 years we have four kids who all have UK poassports. im a Uk national.
We are all living in the Uk at present. wife is on a visitors visa.
can she apply for ILR whilst here and on her visitor visa.

Thankyou for the replies. we live in chiang mai. So it was a big hassle for my wife to fly there and back unsure of the situation in Bangkok and then to be charged an extra 1500 THB to submit application on a Saturday.
I don't want to put her through that again. (and the extra expense) if she has to attend the French embassy in Bangkok for her Schengen.

my wife has just got her visitors visa for UK.
Im a Uk national and we are legally married. we intend to travel from England to france, and possibly onwards to spain and Italy.
from previous posts ive read the fact that she is married to a EEA national and we have four kids with british passports means that she doesn't need a shengen visa.?
would anyone know whether a French translation of our marriage certificate would be a good idea.
thanks

I think your assessment of yourself in the first sentence was correct. A clown...just a seriously unfunny one.

Thx

Any recommendations on a place to send an international fax. Yes they do still exist. Cheaper the better.

I am from the UK and always use Bangkok Bank's London office to transfer GBPounds to Bangkok. I always get the prevailing TT rate. It seems cheaper than the usual FX company.
GCEN is FREE, better rates. Reliable. Quote ref 1651 0100 for Thailand .

I think the title of the post should be changed as it is misleading.

Anyone got experience with e above.
I flew out phuket to kl and thought the same rule as in Bangkok might apply.
But the very polite and friendly immigration people charged me 500 baht.
Just curious

Can anyone recommend a web site design company in chiang Mai.
Thankyou in advance.

Why not use these guys GCEN . They are FSA registered. Give you better rates than the interbank rate. And are FREE FREE FREE. Use code 1651 0100 from Thailand.
They will even call you back. Register online and send an online ute bill and copy of passport and you're good to go! Make a free bacs transfer to their segregated customer account and they send over to your nominated thai bank account.
Why give the banks more of your money

A lot of Canadians have been shot up north over the past few years.

And this is the "nice" part of chiang mai

With these increases ... a 12 to 15% shortfall in currency exchange (British pound) in the last 6 months and inflation - possible another 5/6% .. is Thailand finally losing it's attractioness ....
Add dirty, polluted beaches ... Hua Hin for example ... maybe time to rethink ...
Use a fx company GCEN is the best I've used transfer any currency to your thai bank for FREE. Lock in better rates and withdraw for free. It has to be a better idea than using an ATM card from your own country. Use code 1651 0100 from Thailand.
They will even call you back. Register online and send an online ute bill and copy of passport and you're good to go!
settlement visa refusal....can she apply for visitor visa while appeal is ongoing
in Visas and migration to other countries
Posted
my Thai wife of 18 years was refused her settlement visa to UK. Reason being, a chartered accountant confirmed my employment status not the actual employer. every other requirement met! Our four kids and me are missing her desperately. we've been apart since October. My five year old daughter is particularly upset.
question can we / should we apply for a visitor visa while the appeal is ongoing.
hope no one has had to go through this but any insight would be greatly appreciated
