now question yourself - was that project really that big and difficult so you had to pay him for all these 6 months
Nothing to do with me, im just one of the plebs. My only involvement is giving him a lift back home on occasion.
But yes implementing a new ERP system in a 100 plus staff company with maybe 10,000 different parts numbers is a hugh task.

But still a crime .... Not Cool
To be clear this is not my thoughts. The instance above i was replying to Upnotover. I dont think he intended to do this but when they waved him through a few times he went with the flow. Opportunistic.

I'm surprised the Thai staff didn't catch up with it
I think its because his initial stay was so long compared to regular tourists. They basically got fed up checking his room card.

Ok so we had an IT guy come over from the UK to set up our ERP system and integrate it with the UK facility. Initially they thought 2 months would do it and he stayed at a well known hotel for the duration. The time passes and it is clear its a much bigger project than planned - so he is moved to a 6 month condo rental to save money.
The condo was close to the hotel. Lazy to cook the first day he goes back to the hotel in the morning for their breakfast buffet. As he had already been staying there 2 months, they (the staff) immediately gave him a wai and ushered him in, already well very familiar with him. Chanced it again the next day and same same etc
As he was eventually leaving back to the UK he told me the above story and said he had took breakfast every day at the hotel for the previous 6 months. To prove it he asked me to join him on one of the last days and sure enough they ushered us in no questions, wai's all round - with him just saying - my colleague from UK.
I was torn between him being a genius or a knob. Thoughts?

Sadly, I'll have to add "yet" ????
Same for me. My Ulster Bank (RBS/Nat West) account is in total limp mode now. Banner across the top of my log in page to visit my nearest branch and update my address and phone number. All DD's and SO's are still working but cant set up any new ones. Can see only my account balance on the app or webpage. Writing on the wall i fear. If i call them they will reluctantly help make a one off payment over the phone but insist i visit a branch with proof of address next time.

She said he was a nice and kind man. But since he had lost his job with the council he had often said that he wanted to die.

Why not just buy the drop file frame then and put it any inconspicuous drawer or cabinet you want.

How long this beagle will last?
Is no problem. They will drop them off at the nearest temple when they are bored with them.

These are pretty cool. I see it says 1979 on the map. Funny i just watched 'The Scorpion' about Charles Sobhrag and this was the time frame he was doing the rounds. There are a few times he goes to Pattaya.

I knew a guy who was a BIM/Revit specialist here - but it was his own company. He was working for hotel chains largely and by all accounts was very successful judging by his lifestyle. I have not seen him since Covid though so i assume the moth balling of hotels and new projects for a year killed his business.
My story is quite similar to Crossy. I was initially sent out here with a UK company as a Mechanical Engineer (Technical Engineer for work permit). During 2008 finance crisis they canceled their expat program and recalled everyone. I survived the cull as I was the most junior expat at that time and was costing them the least. After another 2 years they looked to re call me again so i reverted to local package - so essentially pay same as a local. I have switched jobs a few times since and worked in Malaysia for a number of years also - but all positions referred through local contacts/suppliers etc.

Motorbikes on expressways? You've seen the way people ride motorbikes here. Can you imagine if they were let loose on the expressways?
They are allowed in Malaysia and it works great. They are even toll free with a bike lane that bypasses the booths. I saved quite a bit on money riding a bike to work there.

They should use Soi Dogs. Would get a few of the streets at least.

It looks like after a long period of inactivity, a small net transaction out was posted yesterday
I wouldn't read to much into that. If its an exchange based wallet it could just be an inactivity fee that they can take directly from your account. Happened me last month on HitBTC. They took 12 usd worth in BTC - i thought id been hacked. Customer service confirmed the fee - introduced late last year.

You will need to get your story right. Your days of being a retired plumber or carpenter are over. Now you're an Ex Top Gun Pilot or Brain Surgeon to Royalty.

3 out 5 stars on the Sharp test - so ok/average. Bad is the 50% stat on the chin bar opening up on impact. Its effectively an open face with them odds.
