  1. They need a non-O visa for volunteering. An Ed-visa or a tourist "visa" will not do as volunteering requires a work permit and that is not given on those visas.

1 year extensions of stay are only given if there is a goevrnment official involved with a high enough status. If the NOGO idoes not work with the government that will be problematic. In that case they need to get a multiple non-O visa and leave the country every 90 days.

  2. You have to be living with your wife and your wife have to go with you to immigration. They might also want some witnesses to confirm you live to gether and the marriage is genuine. Immigration will not convert to a non-immigrant via as you already have one, but give an extension of stay based on marriage with

If you de not meet the requirements, you have to leave the country and apply for a non-O at a Thai consulate, poosibly a multiple non-O.

  3. One can complain tom the head of immigration, at immigration headquarters. In that case a formal investigation will take place and you will be heard (get visited by immigration to tell your story). Immigration officals are scared and can be in trouble if one folows this route.

Regarding denied applications for an extension you can appeal the decision and a higher officer will than have a look. Ultimately you can go to the court and immigration will have to defend its decision and give reasons why they do not follow the rules or ask for extra docmentation.

Often it is simpler to just call the immigration hotline if you think immigration don't follow the correct procedure. Often they will than contact the local immigration office and try to sort things out.

    No it's about marriage rights.

No marriage rights no immigration issues.

You have a valid complaint though of course.

Thai male marreid to foreign male would not have to show any income for an extension, Thai female married to a foreign female the foreign female would have to show an income of at least 40,000 a year. That would be the requirements under the current immigration rules for people who are married to a Thai national.

Must be because you work in bkk.

In the provinces it needs to be send to HQ, hence 30 days.

No, the norm is an extension the same day you apply. Only for marriage there is a waiting period as these must be approved by a committe which checks if the mariage is genuine. So check with your immigraiton office what the approval ttime is and as said, often you can aply up to 45 days early. With 30 days before the expirationdate being the norm.

  6. The report back date is pretty must fixed and must be stamped on the forms they send to HQ for approval of the extension, so the immigration officer has not much flexibility.

If you have not already used it, you can get a 60 day extension for visiting your Thai wife. That will give you enough time to leave and return and after that extend based on marriage.

  7. with a re-entry permit you can enter and leave Thailand before the underconsideration period ends. But you must be in Thailand on the day the under consideration period ends and visit immigration. They will not like it if you come after that date. If you are not even in Thailand on that date your permisison of stay ended and you will only be allowed a visa exempt entry (if you qualify) and have to get a new non-O visa and start the whole process again.

Explain your situation and ask if they can give you the extension before the end of consideration, you will need a re-entry permit from immigration anyway.

Sure you have. Must have been sitting there long time, though. Thank you for sharing your interest.

As a teacher I help my students cross the road almost every day because it is very dangerous. Yes, there are those who don't stop for police or see others stopping and just take the opportunity to put the pedal to the metal.

In fact I am glad there no longer is a police officer at our school, as when I am alone the drivers tend to stop more. And after 3 years doing this many locals now the drill when they see me and tend to slow down by themselves. Now there are on avarage only 3 dangerous situation a week.

  9. Per above, you do need a teaching license and teaching without one is punishable with a jail term of 1 year and/or a fine of 10,000 baht. In practise you probably fly under the radar as for university itself there is no teaching license requierement. But would probably aslso have the seperate crime of supplying fake documents as the labour office might require a teaching schedule and such.

Without a teaching license you can teach at univrsity level or at a language school. There no teaching license is required.
