  2. I'm not quite understanding your OP. You say that you did the visacompany thing to Poipet but then you said you stayed in Siam Reep for 2 days waiting? This does not make sense mate as they are VERY far from each other and the visaruncompanies normally get you the room in Poipet included and you just wait there until the next day. Can you clarify this please?

It's not difficult to figure out. I didn't want to spend 2 days waiting in Poipet and I have friends in Siam Reap. Siam Reap is only 3 hours from Poipet. You consider that VERY far? Really?

Regarding them paying for your room...There aren't any visa-run companies that will take care of your visa and room for 2000 baht. That I know of anyways. If you know of one, please share so I can use them on my next trip.

    interesting stuff.

im considering a ed visa as i thought the 'red stamp' had killed me off as a tourist.

would love to know if anyone has gotten a x2 tourist visa from PP with a red stamp in passport.

or from any other embassy for that matter ... [thinks, probably needs a new topic of its own]

Already posted my thoughts on this, but again, I highly doubt PP gives a crap about a red stamp from Laos. Especially if going through an agent.

my friend got refused 2 weeks ago in Vientianne because he had more than 3 stickers of TV in his passport. 3 days ago he went to Poipet (you need a travel agent - he booked in Cambodia Inter & Tours in Soi Buokhao - for 5900 -- stay 1 night in poipet) and last night he arrived back with double entry Touristvisa.. he is happy now...

  3. Acute prostatitis is fully curable with appropriate and timely treatment.

Chronic prostatitis is more difficult, but if it is of the bacterial type can usually be cured, although antibiotic resistance can pose a problem. Nonbacterial chronic prostatiits is a challenge but in recent years advances have been made making it possible to relieve the condition in many cases, although severel therapies much usually be employed.

In any event per post #12, the OP has bacterial prostatitis. So treatment is a long course of antibiotics.

Hopefully a culture and sensitivity was obtained but I would not be surprised, this being Thailand, if it was not. it is essential that the bacteria responsible be fully eradicated with a sufficiently long course of an antibiotic to which it is sensitive.

doctor gave me ciroflex 500, twice a day for 3 weeks. My pharmacy friend in Maui said they give, 750mg twice a day for 3 weeks. Think I should do the 750 to be safe than sorry, cant imagine it would hurt. As far as the culture, I am in your court, probably none.

    i guess you mean: CIPROFLEX?

here is also an interesting article: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=PubMed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=15947609&ordinalpos=1&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVAbstractPlus

  4. I am flying to KL on the 8th of march from Philippines and then flying into Thailand on the 11th. I have a return ticket back to London from Philippines dated June 1st.

Hopefully this will be good enough to get a TV.

    hi,

most probably you will not need a onward ticket. the last years i had applied in KL for TV more than a few times and i never had to show anything (just passport, pictures, application). 3 weeks ago I was in kota bharu for a TV and they gave me a problem. i managed to get one because i had a very recent thai-hospital bill and i said, that i must go back for treatment and checkup immediately and i dont know how long i have to stay. so, they gave me at the end a TV. but i would never go again to kota bharu for a TV.

  5. Excellent airline!

4 the last 6 yrs, i fly Eva Air BKK to Vienna. the years b4 i tried many different airlines, but with Eva Air i am most satisfied!

its usually on time, convienient to book via net (seat booking 2), price&food/service is ok. i could not say anything negativ...

  6. Thanks siam2007. I went to their website and found the 0 baht flights but couldn't get any further. Their website is pretty crap. Might try again later.

what kind of problem did you have ? actually their website is quite easy to navigate. the only problem is that you will need a mastercard with secure code or a Visacard that has the "approved by VISA" system, otherwise ur card will be declined. and try using IE7 when making the booking instead of Firefox

    ===================================

topic: angeles in the philippines is a nice play if you enjoy nightlife.

cebupacific: FORGET BOOKING WITH THEIR WEBSITE.

i tried many times my visacard with "verified by visa", it does not work. 6 times i got a refund. so, at least they paid back, but its all hassle. i have nothing against the airline, but they must make their payment functioning...

here some sites, complaining about it:

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Cebu-Pacific-t220612.html

  7. i fly frequent for many years with cebupacific and had many problems with creditcard payment. im still waiting for 3 refunds (can take around 4 months...if ever u get back the money). i never had any payment problems with other companies in the internet. only with cebupacific.

there are allready a few foren where they discuss the problem:

    http://www.pinoytux.com/rantings/cebu-paci...s-evil#comments

i will not book&pay with with my creditcard in cebupacific again. its useless and hassle. also there hotline is often busy and hassle. if you live abroad and dont have friends in philippines (who can arrange/pay bookings localy), then really: better forget to book via their website......

  8. Anyone know the best rourte from Bali to Manila ?

the best - i dont know. but surely it would be cheap, if you take a flight bali to KL and then proceed KL to Manila (Clark).. around 5.500 baht all in all

bali, then arrive midnight in KL, then morning 7 fly to manila

  9. Well ; but the Philippines immigration requires the bank statement just for a tourist visa. The Thailand don't do it.

I believe that in spite of all the Thailand is still the better.

You must be confused. Bank statements have never been required to extend a tourist's stay in the Philippines...it's not actually a visa, but a visa exempt privilege extended to tourists of many nations.

REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER THE PHILIPPINES

Tourist Visa (For stay from 21 to 59 days)

Submit your valid, signed, U.S. Passport, must have 6 months validity remaining

1 Visa Application Form, completed and notarized

1 Passport-type photograph (printed name and signature on front of photo required)

Completed Cover Page (print from browser)

    Copy of travel itinerary

Copy of most recent bank statement - or ask your bank for a "Visa Letter"

    Source : http://www.traveldocs.com/ph/vrdc.htm

That's why you are confused. You're talking about applying for a visa for the Philippines in the US.

It's a total waste of time and money.

What the majority of people do is enter WITHOUT a visa and get a 21 day stamp. Before the 21 days are up, you apply for an extension to 59 days, and every 59 days thereafter up to 16 months. No questions asked, no bank statement required for a stay of up to 16 months.

They've now introduced a different application form that must be filled out to extend the stay to 24 months. No visa runs, no leaving the country for 2 years.

How is this worse than the Thai visa system?

If you are married to a Filipino, then you get a free one year balikbayan visa that can be renewed yearly. No reporting, no financials, no visa runs required. Just stay and enjoy your family life.

In the Philippines family unity is considered more important than money.

    ----------------------------

U r right! its much easier to get and extend a visa in PI. i live in PI for 20 years and stay every year for 4 - 5 month in LOS.

i try to compare those countries, but you can not compare. they are totaly different. PI is a bit Latino stylish.

i like both countries but if i would not have 2 kids in PI, i probably would live in thailand. i feel saver there. i got robbed and badly hurt 1997, thrown out of a jeepney in Manila at 1 p.m. in sta. Cruz (near GPO). the last 10 years i lived in zamboanga city(southern PI). every day you will find news about a murdered person. years ago, 2 pople found murdered near my house, but you would not find this news in the local papers. so i assume, the official stastitics are not true.

i believe that thailand is much saver than PI. there are only a few things, which are same or better(in PI): san-miguel-beer :o (cheap), filipinas(..same) and at least you can communicate properly.

all in all, if you young and strong: go PI, older people should try to stay in LOS...

    good day

  10. I will be in the Philppines in the next month and will use the opportunity to obtain another tourist visa. Has anyone been through there recently and have any tips to share. Also, what is their turn-around time to process this visa. I have a US passport.

    Thanks in advance.

i was there last thursday (february 01) and tried to get a 60 day tourist visa. they denied because i allready got 2 entries and have allready 60 days since december 01. i will fly back to thailand on april 25. they officer said, that i could try to apply in april and "maybe" then i could a tourist visa (but he could not say for sure)...

there was an american guy, which was very dissapointed because they also denied him the tourist visa (he got allready 90 days on VOA. and the officer there told him he can not enter thailand now and must go to america. but he told me, that he rented a condo for a year and has all his things there in pattaya (2 blocks off walking street he said). so I advised him to fly to malaysia and try his luck there...

so, finally i advise, not to consider MANILA as an opportunity for a Visa-Run and to get a tourist visa there since the officer told me, they follow stricktly the rules....
