BangkokTony
I have plenty of time on my hands and regularly watch vlogs via my tv or pc. I have noticed that many vloggers are asking for 'support' via Patreon or click like, comment or share. Most of them vlog 2 or three times a week and on their site ask for donations. I know of only two Thailand vloggers who do not ask for money. I have never donated and never will and am perturbed by their thick skinned attitude. No one is asking them to vlog; it is their choice. Why should I pay for their lifestyle? 2

Popular Post Kieran00001
Some people watching some vlogs feel that they have gained something valuable and want to compensate the creator for their hard work, its hardly rocket science. If you don't feel that you should then don't, that is the thing with voluntary donations, they are voluntary.
Popular Post 55Jay
Never donated/Patreon either. My vague understanding is YT has raised the bar (again) for content creators to make money off YT. I have sub'ed to about 10 different channels and try watching the full video, maybe leave a comment and hit the bell for new content notification. Apparently that helps them with the new YT rules, but that's as far as I go with it. The one guy I like and have followed for quite some time, quit his job, sold his house, bought a fixer upper boat to live on. It was interesting watching him progress through all that. But he was going to do that anyway so I don't feel any inclination to give him money. He's really shaking the tin collection cup this year. Vid I watched yesterday was all about that, it's becoming a real turn off.

I have never really thought about it this way before so I'm just flicking a pebble into the water .. If a person gives money but the information is wrong or intentionally misleading could they get their money back + losses incurred..??

If they had a contract stating that in paying they trust that they are receiving factual information then they could, otherwise it would be next to impossible. Yeh!.......I treat all information by Pattaya YT Vloggers the same as "A bloke down the pub said ......." but you will always see somebody buy him a beer...Sucker or not it is their choice...
Popular Post samsensam
in the UK in the 1970s there was a tv show called; Why Don't You Just Switch Off Your Television Set and Go Out and Do Something Less Boring Instead? replace 'television set' with 'computer/tablet/phone', as applicable, i think you'll enjoy and get a lot more out of life ? 5
Popular Post uwe_rayong
I find it very difficult to understand how somebody can be offended if the maker of a video, asks politely for a financial contribution. 1.) It is your choice to watch the content. 2.) it is your choice if you want to make a contribution or not. If you don't like the content stop watching. If you like the content continue to watch but don`t pay. I sometimes watch those videos and I never made a contribution. My choice! Why you complain about something that is your choice. Do you feel cheap if you watch and don`t pay ? Or are you envious that somebody is getting paid for something, that in your opinion should be free or forbidden? If somebody in Europe makes music on the street with a hat or bucket in front of them, it is your choice to stop and listen to the music. It is your choice to put money in that hat or not. If 30 persons stop, maybe 4-6 persons make a small contribution. Nobody follows you and demand a payment, if you have listened to that music for 5 minutes. If I like it I maybe stop for a while, if I find the person sympathetic I maybe put 1-2 Euro in the hat. I am not interested if that person has a work permit or approval of the city to make music there. It is none of my business. What I don´t like with this youtubers or other vloggers is, if they produce content with the help of others that are not aware of that (hidden cam content). 2
CeeGee
Back in the days(it may still exist) there was a whole group of people who produced software programmes for personal computers. They offered these to the public free of charge, i think it was called shareware,.They asked if you found the programme useful to make a contribution if you did not contribute you could still use the software.Totally up to you.I think the YT is exactly the same thing, so it is nothing new. Shareware was free software that you could access the code, it was designed to promote software development, its called opensource now.

Cactus99
You watched the vlog and you never gave a donation, nor did anyone compel you to donate, so whats your issue exactly? I mean besides you having too much time on your hands, and that you are attention seeking, annoying and are reducing someones bandwith...
