Try Etihad Airways:

You could also contact statravel in the Uk or Thailand. They tend to have best prices from Bangkok to UK.

Cheers

Rob, I'm not being facetious here but as your wife had so much trouble deciding whether she had a visa in her passport or not do you think she will be able to comforably find her way around an airport where she has to change planes? and find departure points using English in an Arab airport.

It wont be the cheapest but Thai or Eva Air fly direct from Bangkok (where she can get help in her own tongue) to London. They both have web sites and you can book with credit card

Thai Airways

Eva Air

Other airlines who fly direct are British Airways and Qantas.

If you want to use Qatar, it seems Airline-Network are the specialists and cheapest for that airline.

Eva airways bought in Thailand should be less then 23k one way

Out of interest and because I've got nothing better to do right now i have checked EVA air.

The first seats they have available after the date you mentioned is 07 March.

The O/W price is B19,250+B3,215 tax = B22,465.

A Non stop flight and EVA have Thai speaking air hostesses on the flight too.

I agree with the poster above about a direct flight.

A guy I know was in the same situation as you and boked his new wife on a one way on Cathay Pacific to Edinburgh.

The staff had been told to look after her and duly did in HK to get her on the plane to London - once there she was abandoned to British Midland in a different terminal.

She did not make it to terminal 1 and was found by a kindly Thai student crying her eyes out completely lost.

The Thai student helped her but not before police were involved as she had been accounted for on Cathay but had missed at least 3 flights north.

Obviously this is more complicated than yours but do not scrimp on her first big trip overseas and get her a direct ticket.

TG is probably best as they will have more Thai speakers on the plane but all airlines will have some - ask for assistance at the other end if possible or maybe they will be more experiences women returning to the UK.

Last year in economy on EVA about 50% of the hostesses were Thai wearing neat Thai flag badges. :D

The problem with Thai is that for a O/W fare they are about double the price of EVA but I guess it's better to pay that than lose your fiancee in Doha :o

Thaiair sometimes have specials on their main website - I have seen prices bkk - lhr for 15k to 17k + tax before - of course this is down to demand - but worth a look - a call to the bkk based thai air call centre should tell you if there is likely to be any around the dates you are looking for (did for me before...)
