In the wake of the widely criticized debate performance, President Joe Biden remains steadfast in his commitment to face former President Donald Trump in a second debate scheduled for September. Despite concerns about his mental and physical fitness, Biden, 81, will not withdraw from the race, according to an advisor cited by CNN Senior White House Correspondent Kayla Tausche.

 

Thursday night's debate saw Biden repeatedly freeze and misspeak, casting doubts among even his most ardent supporters. Doug Muzzio, a retired public affairs professor at Baruch College, described Biden's performance as "tentative, rambling, and sometimes incoherent," adding that many Democrats are now considering alternative candidates.

 

One particularly troubling moment occurred early in the debate when Biden seemed to lose his train of thought for an agonizing nine seconds before stating, "I finally beat Medicare." This apparent gaffe provided Trump, 78, with an opportunity to pounce.

 

"Well, he’s right. He did beat Medicare. He beat it to death and he’s destroying Medicare because all of these people who are coming in, they’re putting them on Medicare," Trump retorted.

The debate left some Democrats reconsidering their support for Biden. "If I knew nothing about Donald Trump before that debate and judged him solely on that performance, I’d vote for him," one Democratic source told The Post.

 

Despite the criticism and doubts, Biden is determined to press on. His advisor emphasized that he is not considering dropping out of the race. The second debate in September will be a crucial moment for Biden to reassure his supporters and counter the growing concerns within his party.

How ignorant can you be? Full time jobs fell by 2.4m over 12 months. Stockmarket goes up and down based on entrepreneurs running companies well and making money. Nothing to do with sleeping politicians.

Winston Churchill was a great leader, during war and in his time. Shall we dig up his corpse and let the administration of the day attach strings to his body and manipulate him for their own ends?

 

As for Trump...he's still the old Trump he always was. If he decides to implement any policy that's even slightly crazy it'll be struck down, in even, the lower courts.

 

Such are the checks and balances in the good 'ol USA.

In 2019 unemployment reached a 60 year low and inflation was 1.7%. Not exactly a lunatic. Those numbers are near perfect.

These ”journalists” get their marching orders from the same people so it’s no surprise they all turn at the same time. The journalists that actually do their jobs get locked up for 14 years and have to pay 500k for a 400 dollar flight. That’s what the truth gets you.

Unemployment was at an all time high after the global financial crisis, credit crunch, whatever during 2009/2010.

 

Only a simpleton would think that the reduction in unemployment over the next 10 years was due to any president; what else could it do?

 

Trump simply rode the coat-tails of history. He was elected at the mid point of the reduction in unemployment. In fact, the rate of change in unemployment stayed the same before and after he was elected. You can obviously see this from the (negative) gradient of the graph.

Don't you first have ot assure someone before you can reassure them? 

 

Biden is like an old dog not yet willing to die even though he can not get up or eat solid foods.. It does not show determination but instead shows his unwillingness to let someone else try to grab the power. I am most certain most of his Party has talked to him about not running anymore. AS they were almost all shocked at how feeble and how badly he did in the debate. 

Yesterdays debate will be what people remember the most about Biden in the future.

By that token, isn't Biden just riding the same wave.  (If you neglect the fact that the jobs he's "created" are mostly part time and for the foreign born, which aren't the jobs on which to build the American dream of home ownership)
