THAKSIN, WHERE ARE YOU?

Interpol asked to help find Thaksin

BANGKOK: -- Police have sought help from the Interpol unit in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a search for fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra, who is believed to have been staying in that country.

The police move came after Pheu Thai Party MP Chalerm Yoobamrung admitted he had been to Dubai recently to visit Thaksin for three days.

Police Maj General Visanu Prasartthong-osot said the latest intelligence report showed Thaksin had not left the UAE, but police were checking if he had left the country under another name.

"We believe he is likely still in that country because it is not far from Thailand and he can use it as a base for his close aides to come and see him,'' he said.

Visanu said he had submitted a request to the Attorney General's Foreign Affairs office to seek the extradition of Thaksin, even though Thailand does not have an extradition treaty with the UAE. "We can ask for cooperation from the UAE since we had earlier helped them arrest and dispatch suspects wanted by them."

After the court issued an arrest warrant for Thaksin, police stepped up pressure on him by asking Interpol police in 187 countries to help find and arrest him, he said. Thai police had been dispatched to countries Thaksin was believed to visit frequently such as Hong Kong, Nicaragua, Montenegro, Cambodia and the UAE.

Chalerm said he did not discuss politics or who would be the new party leader with Thaksin, but they talked about his well-being and his business. Thaksin told him he had bought an island in Montenegro to develop a real estate business, hoping to make billions of baht in profit by selling expensive mansions to Asian millionaires, following the success of Hawaii.

"Thaksin is living a good life in Dubai because the country highly honours him and has given him top security. The reports that said Thaksin is not welcome there are wrong. Dubai approved a visa for me 24 hours after I applied. Thaksin took me out shopping in malls and many people came to ask for his autograph and his picture,'' he said.

Thaksin also won five goldmine concessions from a country in Africa, which had given him a special passport.

Responding to Chalerm's revelation of his visit to Thaksin in Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said he had not made any progress getting Thaksin back because he had more important work to do, such as combating drugs and violence in the South.

And soon Koo82 will here to decry the cooperation between a fugitive and banned MP and a current MP...right?

So INTERPOL brings him back here and then Thailand will mess something up, lose something or just drop the case and he will be free as a bird. Or protest will bring Thailand to a grind and only he can bring a resolution to the problem, he'll then be a hero.

All of this Thaksin nonsense is just one big failure on behalf of the Thai government waiting to happen.

This has been his plan all along - Thailand facing shambles, in comes Thaksin to save the day.

A bit less boring since Thailand just last week shipped off a serious low life wanted by UAE.

Quid pro quo in advance?

Of course Chalerm will say the opposite of A and K, that's ALL he ever does say...

First, INTERPOL is a international clearinghouse for law enforcement intelligence information. There are no officers going around arresting people. The myth that INTERPOL is out actively hunting and arresting criminals comes from movies and television.

Secondly, how hard is it to locate a high profile businessman with his own jet and helicopter who eats in the best restaurants around the world and has international press coverage daily? If he is hiding it is in plain sight of the world.

The Thai government of the day consistently underestimates the intelligence of everyone but themselves. Even the lowly surf on the farm here must wonder how the government can lose a guy as high profile as Thaksin twice a week. The governments public spin on this is quiet laughable.

You think Thai police has access to Dubai private airfield logs? You think they have an officer in every best restaurant checking customers?

You think they have any resources to monitor someone's movement around the world?

You are not in Jason Bourne movie, lights just don't go up on the greed everytime Thaksin pays for a meal with a credit card.

You're joking right? Thailand does have the resources to keep tabs on the ex-prime minister. The truth is they may be keeping tabs on him as we speak. You do not need high tech equipment or a lot of money to tag a person. Think of the billions of Baht that goes to corruption every year here. I've felt the country really doesn't have any interest in having Thaksin in-country EVER. The last coup government sent nine lawyers to London in 2006 to bring him back, they may be still there.

Cheers!

The Ballard of the Scarlet Shinawat.*

They seek him here, they seek him there

Those Yellow Shirts seek him everywhere

Is he in Phuket or in Korat?

That demned elusive Shinawat.

He meddles with the Yellow Revolution

Broadcasting in and out each week

Spoiling every lovely demonstration

La, what cheek!

They seek him here, they seek him there

The Yellow Shirts seek him everywhere

If you should see him, don't be overwrought!

That demned elusive Shinawat

It's possible our hero flirts with danger

How I wish he'd flirt with me

Methinks I feel the evening growing stranger

Ah, mai bpen rai!

They seek him here, they seek him there

Those Yellow Shirts seek him everywhere

Is he up yonder? Or tied in a knot?

Where is this blasted Shinawat?

They seek him here, they seek him there

Those Yellow shirts seek him everywhere

Is he in Pattaya or is he in Trat?

That demned elusive Shinawat :)

[* Shinawatra isn't as easy to rhyme.]

More spin. He hasn't made more progress since he is "busy".

How about this one...they claimed the UAE was coorperating in an earlier statement, now they have just to even "ask"....I wonder how the Cambodians will react if one of those Thai cops do find Thaksin there? Will they arrest the Thai cop or Thaksin?

That will depend on which one turns out to be the highest bidder :)

Do they really want to fine Thaksin?

Nah. 'Bringing him to justice' would just create more trouble than its worth. This whole Thaksin-hunt is just face-saving bullshit to cover the fact that the government isn't doing anything.

Hi.I am wondering if Mr.Thaksin is a "member" in the New World Order "group"? :shock1 :) :

A friend of mine sent me an email only the other day about this

From the email

The New World Order does include Thailand, stop thinking in local terms!! Thailand will become part of the Asian Union (China, Thialand ect....) and the Asian Union, like the European Union and the (now in its early stages) American Union (inc; America, Canada, Mexico ect.....) are all part of the NWO control grid!! Then when they've established all the Unions, then they'll join all of them together to form a facist World government!! But by then 80% of us will be dead!! You can ignore it all you like, but that won't make it go away!!
He obviously doesn't know about Asean

He also suggested I have a look at INFOWARS.COM for more details

It is a pretty scary thought when any random, corrupt government that wants to can villify and then demand an int'l hunt for anyone they want.  Thaksin is certainly no nice man but it shouldn't be up to uninvolved countries to help incriminate him.

Not anyone.

Thaksin: for corruption and treason.

Other countries are not being asked to incriminate him. he is already incriminated.

You mean they shouldn't be asked to catch him.

Your hero Mr Stone.

This board has members who actually believe something like that. You don't have to go to infowars for that. You can found it all here. look at the entry below. it is a rant about Thaksins new lawyer. he got the name wrong and writes about a 'Robert Armstrong' instead of using his real name Robert Amsterdam.

Interesting to see that the lawyer Robert Armstrong is a leading Zionist and an avid supporter of right wing Zionist and Israeli terrorist groups, along with being a racist as his comments show , his views regarding non Jews are alarming as are his comments concerning the racial and religious superiority of the Jewish people and their being the ''Master Race.''

Seems a very familiar piece of rhetoric that was common place in the middle of the last century by another proponent of the ''Master race'' theory intent on world domination.

His trotting out and peddling of the old line'' The world is anti Semite '' is indeed a hackneyed phrase designed to invoke sympathy and to cover the Zionist repressive cause

Watching and listening to interviews by Robert Armstrong it becomes apparent that he has no love for the common man and woman in the street as is proved by his comments concerning the U.K trade union movement and the collection of socialists movements and presidents and grass roots labour movements he has dealt with over the years of his somewhat less than impressive career as an international rabble rouser.

Robert Armstrong is a racist Neo Facist who is embracing the red Shirt movement along with Thaksin to yet further extend their control over the common people.

Listening to Robert Armstrong it becomes apparent that Thaksin and Robert Armstrong are both megalomaniacs who share one common one aim, absolute power i.e. dictatorship.

One is left wondering if Robert Armstrong is actually as well qualified as he claims or is he in reality a world class rabble rouser ?

The Zionist cause is oppressive and the interference of a Zionist in Thailands internal matters is indeed a cause for concern, the Israeli lobbyists will of course be promoting the cause of Thaksin as their arms suppliers are intent on selling as many war weapons as possible, Thaksin would indeed be a fine client for them.

I would not discount the involvement of the N.W.O. or the Bilderberg group either, I certainly would not dispute those groups amongst others of indeed having stoked the fires (no pun intended) regarding the recent civil strife in Thailand.

One only has to look at some of Thaksins friends outside of Thailand Adnam Khashoggni a disreputable international arms dealer who has had a finger or two in conflicts around the world.

Incidentally, what actually did happen regarding the 35 tons of military ordinance that arrived at the airport, who sent it who paid for it and why ?

Thaksin is playing a seriously dangerous game where he is running with extremists who will destroy him and ultimately Thailand and its people if they get their own way.

I wish the government of thailand can ignore Thaksin, they are making a celebrity out of "Tax sin". they should concentrate on making the life of an average Thai better, and Nobody will remember Thaksin.
