ChrisP
Bangkok Post Thurs 28th April:Court sends 5 people to jail in decorations fraud case The Criminal Court yesterday sentenced five people to a total of between 1,130 and 2,660 years in jail and acquitted three others, giving the verdict in the historic royal decorations case. The 16 defendants in the trial, which lasted years, were charged with forging documents to serve as proof of eligibility for royal decorations 17 years ago. The jail sentences were, however, commuted to 50 years each as required by article 91 of the Criminal Code. Wow... they don't mess about with anything associated with "Royalty" do they..! OldAsiaHand
My favorite line in the story was the sentence that began, "In a trial lasting seventeen years...." It's hard to add much to that, isn't it?
