IMA_FARANG
Watching Thai telvision it occurred to me that where flooding from Klongs/canals is happening is at low bridges over that Klong or canal. What is hapening is the Klong is high and water flowing under the low bridge, causing a standing wave where the current hits the bridge, which then spills over the sandbag barriers around that Klong/canal. Once over that barrier, the water naturally drains into low lying areas. That's where the worst flooding is occuring. I saw this happening on T.V. coverage of Rangsit area.. So if your worried about your area...and there is a Klong nearby with a low highway bridge crossin it...that;s where overflow flooding is likely to start first.
