OzMick
. The absent-from-the-first-of-his-offspring's-marriage father's heartfelt video message to the wedding. * tissue alert * You would have thought that they could have delayed the wedding until early next year when Thaksin will fly in with his new passport. How selfish of them. Sometimes a wedding just can't wait, IYKWIM.
OzMick
. Article in today's other paper has Kwanchai expressing his plan to bring Thaksin home via the Friendship Bridge with Laos at Nong Khai. He would be met on the Thai side by thousands of Red Shirts who would first take him to a prepared stage for a speech, followed by a traditional Bai Sri Soo Kwan ceremony and then escorted to Kwanchai's Udon Thani for the night. The next day, the thousands of Red Shirts would escort him to the police station to report in. . Wouldn't Immigration Police have the power to arrest a fugitive from justice? Or only some fugitives from justice.

I heard this on the news this morning, I really can't decide as to who talks more nonsense, Jatupon or Kwanchai. "Six Of One, Half A Dozen Of The Other" I do my best to play by the rules I've bend a couple even break a few Don't get me wrong, I wanna do right I just can't seem to live in a virtuous light Headaches by the bottle, heartaches by the number Six of one, half dozen of the other No matter how you add it up it's always the same I give it my best and all I gets the blame I'm living and loving and barely breaking even Can't be me must be the company I'm keeping I went on out and made some brand new friends Started my life all over again Now some of them are saints and some of them are sinners I'm still searching for a way to be a winner Headaches by the bottle, heartaches by the number Six of one, half dozen of the other - Lyrics by Joe Nichols . Buchholz
Defense Minister Downplays Red-shirt Leader's Pledge to Bring Thaksin Home The defense minister has dismissed a promise by Udon Thani Red-shirt Leader, Kwanchai Praipana, to bring former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra home to Thailand. He said Kwanchai's word should not be taken seriously. Before attending the Cabinet meeting in Phuket Province, Defense Minister Sukumphol Suwanatat commented on a statement made by red-shirt leader Kwanchai Praipana that he's in the process of making it possible for former PM Thaksin Shinawatra to return to Thailand. Sukumphol told the media that Kwanchai's word should not be taken seriously. Meanwhile, Deputy Agriculture Minister Nattawut Saikua said that Kwanchai was merely trying to attract the media's interest to gain publicity. Nattawut also asserted that Thaksin will decide for himself when he should return to Thailand, which will depend on the political situation. However, he does not think that the former premier will come back to the country by next month as stated by Kwanchai. Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung refused to comment on this, saying that Kwanchai's statement is merely his personal opinion and has no official standing. Chalerm also did not comment on the matter of the national reconciliation decree. -- Tan Network 2012-03-
Buchholz
In a follow-up article in the other paper, Kwanchai has stated that his plan was necessary because the Pheu Thai Party has failed to deliver Thaksin back to Thailand. He said that even five years after Thaksin has gone into exile, there is no sign of his imminent return because of PTP inaction. He went to say that there will be a Red Shirt rally in Udon Thani on April 7th and that if they can amass 30,000 Red Shirts they will proceed at that time with his plan and bring Thaksin back through the Friendship Bridge border crossing. He said that by publicly stating the date, it will also be a signal to Thaksin that if he is truly interested in returning to Thailand, that that is the time for him to come. He stated that his people had sacrificed everything and fought for the PTP, but that the PTP has not done enough to ensure his return. Further criticisms of the PTP are also reported on. . Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago at Khao Yai he was saying how the reds were reunited after all? Just a bunch of power seeking local warlords claiming to have 'loyal followers', hoping for payouts from'The Great Leader', he should rename his faction Pheua Khwai.

Buchholz
. Today's other paper details a phone-in Thaksin made to assembled Red Shirts in Surin yesterday. In it, Thaksin dismissed Kwanchai's plan for him to walk across Friendship Bridge from Laos to meet the Red Shirts amassed on the Thai side. He said his return will be more elegant than that. Thaksin stated, "I must come back with style and I will say how it will be." He also said his return is imminent. .

He also said his return is imminent. The arrogance of this creature knows no bounds.his statement shows clearly that he is indeed a control freak who cannot understand how he could be wrong at all. Criminal physiologists would indeed have an interesting case before them with Thaksin. Yet again the naive Red Shirt movement is having a tantalizing morsel of bait dangled before them to stir their Lemming like instincts in order to facilitate in any scheme Thaksin has in mind to return to Thailand and to hell with the consequences upon the country and its peoples.. The only things that matters are the satisfying of a gigantic ego, the pursuit of absolute power and wealth for brother number 1 and his family and their brown nosing acolytes. Buchholz
. It also reflects a total disregard for one of his most fervent and long-standing supporters, AKA pawns, in the grandiose and dismissive manner he rejected the plans in favor of his own for his imminent and triumphant and splendorous return. The garish images that he imagines his re-entry to Thailand will entail are, I'm sure, quite wondrous to behold. . maidu
It only reinforces the premise: If you want to know the truth about Thaksin, take everything he says and turn it inside-out and you'll find the opposite is true. There are so many faults in his personality, but one of the main ones, in my view: He often denigrates the Thai legal system. Any time there's a ruling which is not in his favor, he disses the judges and the legal system in general. What a great example, particularly to youngsters. It's bad enough how he celebrates cheating on his taxes. His sister and Chalerm take Thaksin's rudeness to the judiciary one step further - by doing all they can to annul prior legal rulings that they don't like. Plus, they excuse law-breakers, they let them off the hook, they pay law-breakers' bail, they pay compensation to law-breakers' families, .......the list goes on and on. How can anyone say, without smirking, that the Shinawatre or Chalerm have any respect for the Thai legal/judiciary system? Message to future law breakers in Thailand: go ahead and trash Bangkok. Go ahead and shoot cops and civilians. Go ahead and set fire to shopping malls. If you're buddies with the ruling political party, you'll be let off from prosecution and penalty.

This, and the other 59 (or so) threads highlight the farcical nature of Thaksin's proclamations on the subject of returning. The newest of all of them eventually supersede the previous one and do so without closing. With the current hullabaloo about Kwanchai and his degradation by Thaksin, while he fights other Red Shirts to claim the prize of being the one that assisted in Thaksin's Return In Full Glory, coupled with his demands that the Pheu Thai government to actually give a <deleted> about his Red Shirts..... I think all those factors happening now warrant not closing the thread, as well. .
