koolbreez
Vertigo is very good on the rooftop if it is not raining. Make reservations even on a Wednesday. A little cheaper and also good views is the Bayoke Sky Tower buffet at 79 stories up on Ratchaprarop soi 3, large selection of food, though the sussi is not fantastic, the shrimp and crab are though. After dinner is viewing at 83 floors up, the tallest building in Bangkok. You can be out of there easily by 9pm, but make reservations as it is popular with the 60 floors of hotel guests, and migrant tourists (it is popular with Japanese tourists), then the BTS airport train is 7 blocks away at soi 10 at the Ratchaprarop station (30 minutes or less to the bottom floor in the airport for bt40). You can check her bags at the hotel then it is the fastest ride to the airport with a bt50 tuk tuk ride, or bt40 taxi to the BTS station from dinner, tuk tuk is faster that short distance. Top of the line is any restaurant at the Oriental, Peninsula, or 4 Seasons hotels, but you might not finish by 9pm. The Vertigo (best romantic), would be cutting it close. SeaVisionBurma
Have to agree with the rooftop suggestions - makes sense for a special dinner if your gf is going away... Bangkok 101 magazine has a great section on the best rooftop places in town, but I just looked at their website and they don't have it online. If you can pick up a copy somewhere, have a look...Monthly issue.
FuninPlural
This vertigo seems super expensive. I may just opt for the Long Table.
MiG16
Another rooftop option that's still on the pricey side but not crazily so, is Above 11. At Frasers Suite in sukhumvit 11. Nice view. But is a smallish place. Doesnt quite match Vertigo and Sirocco. But then prices aren't as high either http://www.aboveeleven.com/gallery/ One other option is the Scarlett at Pullman Silom. Nice relax feel to it. Try to get a table On the outside Links: https://www.facebook.com/scarlettwinebarbangkok http://hungryinbangkok.blogspot.com/2012/02/scarlett-wine-bar-restaurant.html http://www.pullmanbangkokhotelg.com/restaurants-bars/scarlett-wine-bar-restaurant/
