delgarcon
I have just acquired a non immigrant single entry B visa which will expire on the 9th July. I want to apply for a retirement extention, but I wont have the necessary 800000 baht on my account before the end of May. My question is, what is my next step? Thanks Tony
lopburi3
If you do not have an income to combine with the bank account you will need to obtain a new non immigrant O visa entry.
delgarcon
So if I decide to leave Thailand for a couple of months in early July, I should be able to get a new visa to allow me to come back?
lopburi3
Yes - a single entry non immigrant O visa would be the best choice but you can also return on a tourist visa or even visa exempt and then use proof of financials meeting retirement extension to obtain the visa 90 day entry directly from immigration in a 2,000 baht conversion process. phuketrichard
You do not need to leave for a couple of months. head to Penang,KL, Singapore, laos, Phnom Penh, Rangoon etc etc an get a non imm "O" based on the fact you are over 50, Than come back in, put the 800,000 in the bank ( note the first extension it only need be seasoned 2 months not three) and apply for the extension. delgarcon
I know that I don't have to leave for 2 months, but I am thinking of doing so and wanted to make sure that this wouldn't complicate the issue.
