IMHO
@Damole Which Android Media Player?? Also intrigued by a media player box that has USB port(s) that can be used for audio out.. Sounds like it could be a flexible little machine
damole
It is a Sumvision Cyclone 2X which is a re-badged Geniatech ATV1200 also known as myGiga. It has S/PDIF out both optical and coaxial so the optical is connected to my Onkyo receiver and the coaxial is connected to my DacMagic. I used to have a Logitech Squeezebox which I connected to my DacMagic until it died after which I used the DacMagic connected to an old 10" netbook via USB for music. I used MediaMonkey on the netbook and used MonkeyTunes remote Android app to control it. One of my friends in the UK replaced his Sqeezebox with a Sonos system this year and I saw it when I visited in the summer a few times, he's very happy with it and I am still considering getting one. astral
Thanks Damole I have the Minix Neo X7 box (the company web site is down at the moment) Similar spec, but with quad core processor, 3 x usb, and optical output available My question is what sw you use for audio playback. I use the Neutron player. It handles all formats up to FLAC 192khz but it does not see the usb devices. I have to access the usb files via the ES File Explorer then choose Neutron to play them Worse it does not handle pre-setup play lists eg from Win-amp, or not that I have discovered. This is a real pain as I want to be able to listen to a whole symphony or opera without selecting track by track Any advice welcome here
damole
I use PowerAmp, worth the money on my old Gingerbread phone because it played FLAC. Not sure how it handles playlists but my old MediaMonkey play lists did show up in the library. All my media is on an external hard disk and and play fine. astral
I have yet to find a player that will handle up to FLAC 192khz AND play a whole folder, or a prepared playlist Many are just phone oriented and do not recognise USB devices. Neutron is a nice little player and I have put in a request about externally created playlists.
