Change the Oil on the Blocks. Is this a piss take.Just jack the thing up.Waffle. Waffle.w00t.gif

An use blocks or stands once it is in the air. If the jack fails and the vehicle is not support by other means you can become dead really quick.

If it's parked up for 3 years you may want to consider a fuel stabilizer to stop the fuel going off.

And after 3 years of immobility the brake fluid will probably go off so be careful when you first drive it as your pedal will probably gol to the floor - may pay to bleed them before you even roll again.  You're right about the hand brake - leave it off.

Put something over the air intake to stop insects/rodents getting into the air system.

If it's not in a 100% secure environment, remove your main fuse to immobilise the engine. Get some wheel locks or you may be sans wheels when you get back.  Don't forget to secure the spare.

Remove the battery.  You'll probably need a new one in 3 years anyway as the old one won't take a charge unless you leave it on a computerised trickle caharger

Its in a secure location....but nothing is 100%....but do like the idea of removing the main fuse.....where is it ?

Spare already secure....don't need to lock wheels as locked up in a shed with neighbours very close by that farm the land and are wandering about it every day.

I know upon return it will require some attention, thats a given and expected.

But, in relation to a post above somewhere....condensation in the tank ? That cannot be a tropical country issue surely......and a deodiser in the cab ? Why ? Not like it still gunna smell good in 3 years time.

Why bother with stands then ?

I am afraid so, if you have half a tank of fuel, the other half is air. Leaving it for months on end will create condensation on a sealed tank. This is why most diesels have a water valve somewhere. Your vehicle is going to be in a shed, heating up with extreme temperatures during the day and cooling down at night. Fill it up and you wont have a problem. Up to you.

Tell me....why cant you rev up a car, auto, when up on blocks to turn the wheels faster?

In idle fine, but a light, something like abs engaging...pops up and you cannot speed it up......can increase revs fine when not engaged normally ?
