Isnt it good to now see things that need doing being identified, even if in this instance it has taken a fire to bring it to notice, and a 'get it fixed attitude' with no committee forming and procrastination.

But hay what happened to all the fire trucks that are still sitting somewhere after how many years ?

Now to agree with the need to order firefighting equipment is not present or inadequate I can easily agree with.

The question now is how someone defines what's needed, how the budget is defined, how the open e-bid is handled and a few more of these.

Mind you, I'm not suggesting to take the train instead rolleyes.gif

Install firefighting systems. What a novel idea

Gentlemen, I hate to spoil your Thai-bashing/third world orgy!!

According to WHO (2011):

Fire-related fatalities per 100.000:

UK 0.5

Thailand 0.1 whistling.gif

So maybe you should introduce that novel idea back home first??coffee1.gif

yeah great idea. So tell me something emoticon man, the WHO stats are related to what? Because they're not related to airport fire related fatalities. That's for sure and after all, that's what the post is about, right?

It's not terribly surprising (or enlightening) that a country with an average winter temperature of 4.4 °C (40 °F) has more fire-related fatalities than a country where there is essentially no winter at all. Furthermore, it's almost certain that those fatalities occurred in private residences, which puts them outside the scope of this discussion.

A more meaningful statistic might be the number of lives saved by fire suppression devices. I'm sure that friend JOC is looking for that data and will report back as soon as it's found.
